..."The Chinese Exclusion Act was racist."

Let's add the White Australia Policy to that, too, and consider. ..

1) The population of China ca. 1880 was, iirc, around 200-300 million people.

2) The populations of California and Australia were both around 1-2 million. I forget precise numbers, but these are close, and I don't have the time to bother to look it up.

The Chinese could very easily have swamped both Australia and California in rapid fashion, without feeling any loss of population back of home, and made them provinces of China. Send 3 million Chinese to Australia, 2 million to California, and the population back home is still at least 195 million. The notion that it's racist for a group to want to retain cultural, political and economic dominance of a land it has settled is quite clearly a load of bullshit. There IS a type of immigration they don't like: white middle-class American men finding wives overseas and bringing them here to be mothers and housewives. They have no trouble at all maintaining complex and expensive restrictions on that particular kind of immigration. You also never see sob stories in the media about some guy who met his true love online but can't afford the $10K+ to travel and jump through the hoops.

They just need to treat Mexican fruit pickers and drug runners the way they treat pretty Russian girls: problem solved.Cail Corishevhttp://cailcorishev.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9430835.post-80130796562491198612014-02-02T19:27:59.507-08:002014-02-02T19:27:59.507-08:00"Citizenship is precious"

It amazes me that people summarily discount this possibility. Imagine you are an NSA functionary. Your job, as your superiors have defined it, is to spy on everyone - literally - everyone. So whom do you focus your attention on? You? Me? Or any number of thousands of other anonymous internet nobodies? Or do you focus your attention on people in positions of power - on people for whom actionable intelligence provides instant return on investment - the ability to mold events, through legislation, court rulings, etc. Not that the NSA themselves necessarily makes these decisions. They are hirelings. So they would come back from patrols, ship intact, but not having scored any kills.

The mindset ran too deep and the Navy eventually had to replace most of them with a newer, less indoctrinated breed that was spoiling for a fight. That is a major evolved trait of homo sapiens.

150 years ago, the societal leaders pushed manifest destiny of the white race to conquer unsettled lands. This allowed those at the top to expand their business empires and thereby expand their fat wallets.

Nowadays, there are no unsettled lands (well, you have (or rather, had, in certain cases) some nations such as afghanistan, iraq and iran and N Korea that are relatively unplundered (hence the recent (and future) wars))).

Nowadays, profit expansion comes in different areas. For example, lowering or restricting the rise of waqes in america. America is after all a democracy, at least theoretically....

That is where the propaganda comes into play. That is where white race guilt comes into play.
