One item in Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ's "Black Value System" is "Disavowal of the Pursuit of ‘Middleclassness.’"
Yet, after decades of preaching to his congregation that blacks shouldn't move from the ghetto (where, coincidentally enough, his megachurch is located), the retiring Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. says, in effect, "So long, suckers!"
FOX News has uncovered documents that indicate Wright is about to move to a 10,340-square-foot, four-bedroom home in suburban Chicago, currently under construction in a gated community.
Those must be big bedrooms to have only four in a 10,340 sq. ft. house.
The house and land were apparently paid for by Trinity.

What is your point? Unless you can prove he ever said anything about disavowing enormousupperclassluxuryness I don't think you have a point here.
ReplyDeleteObviously, it makes a lot of sense for Rev. Wright to live in a McMansion in a gated community so as to avoid all those “Evil Rich White People.”
ReplyDeleteAt least Rev. Wright isn’t living like a “typical white person.”
So it's clear Wright has been publicly inciting racism from the pulpit in a private for-profit act. This is no surprise given the track record of other famous race hustlers like Jackson, Sharpton, Marion Barry and Kwame Kilpatrick.
ReplyDeleteThe only surprise is that Obama didn't or couldn't persuade Wright to wait 6 months more before returning to his life of white privilege. No big difference. Given the MSM's tinglely leg syndrome over Obama, Wright would get a pass on drinking the blood of newborns if Obama (a) drew a moral equivalence to his granny's racists use of logic, crime statistics and common sense, (b) mentioned the original sin of slavery and (c) reminded everyone only The Obama can bridge the racial divide and provide spiritual redemption (at cost plus plus) for the racism he himself has made his lifetime obsession of understanding, sniffing out, amplifying and creating it de novo
What's disconcerting is the confusion over whether Obama is merely smooth talking his radicalism because it furthers his political career or if he sincerely believes the divisive nonsense. If Obama were just another slimy pol hoodwinking the proles with smooth talk I'd vote for him in a heartbeat based on Iraq alone and due to people like Evil Neocon (even though things will probably play much the same no matter who wins given the amount and sources of Obama’s financing). Unfortunately, Obama's almost entirely imagined, highly distorted and self-created radicalized black identity indicates that he is an unteathered ideologue like your "typical" ultra-liberal privileged white devil blessed with the infallibility of melanin that elevates Obama beyond criticism or even meaningful examination.
Obama would no doubt further institutionalize the oppression my kids face to largely benefit his own despite the fact that Obama’s kids are (a) much more privileged, (b) no less descendent from American black slaves than mine and (c) benefiting from ancestors that owned American black slaves while none of our ancestors owned slaves and many were legally, economically and/or physically enslaved in several old countries even after slavery ended in America.
We had a similar thing going in South Africa. A local bouncer and ex-bodybuilder turned preacher, who studied at some charismatic church college in the US (where he learned about multiculturalism), built a megachurch with the money of whites. He had about 14000 white congregants just prior to Mandela taking over. Then he started bussing in blacks from Soweto, and guilt-tripping about Apartheid started making the whites in his congregation feel bad and cough up even more money. Within a few years the whites fled, leaving behind the large buildings and full coffers. Now it seems he's had enough, retiring to a seaside. Apparently his neighbour is the wife of deceased Harry Oppenheimer of Anglo American Corp, that famous mining house which also owns de Beers.
ReplyDeleteIn this case the suckers were the whites.
This is sorta off-topic (okay, almost totally off-topic), but have you paid much attention to how the Hillary vs. Obama contest has white feminist female vs. professional black male dynamics quite similar to what you've written about Marcia Clark and Johnnie Cochran during the OJ trial? The racial and sexual overtones of the Democratic primary are all the rage on the big Democratic blogs but strangely you don't seem to have mentioned it here at all, even though these kinds of things are generally your area of expertise.
ReplyDeleteI mean, all this stuff about Jeremiah Wright is kinda interesting but you're basically beating a dead horse at this point.
Why does Steve Sailer not report on stories like this?

"Gated Community"? Who is he trying to keep out?
ReplyDeleteIt really is always about the money. Rev. Wright uses incendiary language to build church membership and monetary offerings so that he can retire in style!
ReplyDeleteNot a bad scam, if you're shameless enough to pull it off!
In a "bizarro" alternate universe, pretty soon there's going to be a press conference held defending Rev. Wright's "right" to live in this huge McMansion. After all, "this brother's done an enormous amount for our community", and "why shouldn't he be able to live out his retirement in a nice home - what, you think black people should only live in slums and don't deserve anything nice?" And the strategically placed assortment of the "usual suspects" standing behind the speaker - think Maxine Waters, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, maybe even David Paterson, etc. etc., will all nod their heads in unison. Of course ignoring Rev. Wright's very own speeches against indulging in "middle classness" as evidenced by living in a McMansion.
ReplyDeleteOh, wait a minute, we're living in this "Bizarro world" right now! Stand by for the story at 11PM!
Clearly what Reverend Wright meant was to go straight for the upper class and don't waste your time on being merely middle class.
ReplyDeleteC'mon, you guys need to give Wright a break. He's had a hard life. He's oppressed with all the real estate taxes he has to pay.
ReplyDeleteYou've got it exactly backward. Wright MUST buy a huge megamansion funded by Trinity. How else is he going to drain enough money from his congregation to prevent them from pursuing middleclassness in the suburbs? Wright is a martyr who is just taking one for the team.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the racial profile of the gated community where the Rev is going to enjoy his twilight years damning America and hating whitey.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the 2000 census, which is of course outdated by now, Tinley Park is about 48,000 people with about 93 percent white and maybe 2 percent black which would work out to about 45,000 whites and 930 blacks. Here is the wiki entry for Tinley Park:
ReplyDeleteAs of the 2000 census[4], there were 48,401 people, 17,478 households, and 12,793 families residing in the village. The population density was 3,236.9 people per square mile (1,250.0/km²). There were 18,037 housing units at an average density of 1,206.2/sq mi (465.8/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 93.16% White, 1.92% African American, 0.13% Native American, 2.38% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.11% from other races, and 1.27% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.13% of the population.
The top five ancentries reported in Tinley Park as of the 2000 census were Irish (25.5%), German (23.1%), Polish (19.7%), Italian (14.3%) and Dutch (5.3%).[5]
There were 17,478 households out of which 36.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.5% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.8% were non-families. 23.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.73 and the average family size was 3.27.
Tinley Park seems like the sort of place where white have flighted in order to enjoy a safe community where they can raise children.
ReplyDeleteBut the Reverends hot on the trail of these greedy white folks.
I have a dumb genetics question. Obama's dad comes from the opposite side of Africa from the main supply of slaves to North America, right? And if I remember Cavalli-Sforza's results, Africa is more genetically diverse than the rest of the world combined. So, it seems like Obama might be less closely related to American blacks than most whites. That is, his father's genes might be further away from the genes of the slaves that came here originally than his mother's genes are, or equally distant.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there's enough data around in public to determine the answer to this, at least in the sense of assuming an average Kenyan vs. an average American. It seems very likely to me that Obama is less related to the average American black than the average American white southerner is, given the intermixture that's taken place over time.
