Constance Holden, 68, veteran writer for Science, America's top scientific journal, was riding her bicycle to the office on Monday, when she was killed by a big National Guard truck setting up to block off a street for the motorcade of dignitaries to Obama's stray nukes summit.
Constance was a consistent voice against the Williams Syndrome-like conventional wisdom on human nature. For example, her July 30, 2004 Science article in time for the Athens Olympics, Peering Under the Hood of Africa's Runners, is the best summary of the science of why men of West African descent dominate sprinting and East Africans standout in distance running.
At the blog of VDARE.com, Kevin Lamb has more on on how she spoke out for IQ realism over the decades.
that sucks.
ReplyDeletesomewhat ironic that she was riding a bike and was killed by being hit by a big, gas guzzling, fuel inefficient truck driven by government agents.
basically, this is what ray lahood, secretary of transportation, wants for all americans.
next time, just drive a car like a normal person. protects you from rain, collisions with trucks, and democrats.
This is a travesty.
ReplyDeletejust drive a car like a normal person?
ReplyDeletescrew you!
other anonymous is right, this is a tragedy, for a a whole lot of reasons
I had heard that somebody had been killed in front of my building while riding a bicycle. This is eerie.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't you tell us about her before?
ReplyDeleteFirst time hearing about this.
ReplyDeleteIt's a damn shame.
Why didn't you tell us about her before?
ReplyDeleteYea, who was this person?
Science is not America's top science journal. It's a haven for trendy, soon-to-be disproved science. Nevertheless, a sad loss.
ReplyDeleteOff-topic: NYT reports on a charter school run by ueber-SWPLs under the auspices of Stanford University. 73% of the students are latino.
ReplyDeleteStanford’s educators expected that with excellent teachers, many trained at the university, they could provide state-of-the-art instruction, preparing students to become “global citizens.” While Stanford New School does better than most other California schools in student retention and sending them to college, the students’ standardized test scores are low.
So low that the school appears likely to be closed.
Science magazine?
ReplyDeleteI still clearly remember their cover issue on cold fusion out of Utah 20yrs ago. I never quite regained my naive trust in authority since.
Maybe it wasn't an accident? Or maybe I read too many conspiracy books, who knows?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this news.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Science Magazine will say about this volcanic event going on now in Iceland. I thought it was a mundane news story 24 hours ago but it is morphing into a calamity.
Facinating fact: The smallish volcano erupting currently has a 100% likelyhood track record of triggering secondary eruptions in its large neighbor volcano named Katla.
This event could morph into a genuine turning point for the world economy. Heads up. This is the perfect scapegoat for the banksters on which to shift blame for Great Depression II: "Our man Obama heroically averted a national catastrophe... and then that darn volcano ruined everything.
Iceland volcano could have world consequences
Icelandic volcano eruption intensifies
Uh-oh. Changed weather patterns and massive crop losses.
Interesting how this event also trashes Iceland with potential biblical flooding. Aren't they the crowd who recently gave the global banking cartel the finger?
I had heard that someone was killed by a NG truck at this idiotic summit. I had no idea it was someone active in the field of HBD. Not to make light of this but could it be she was running from Joe Bidens car?

ReplyDeleteHAARP.
A sad tragedy. She was also an artist as well as a writer. You can see some of her work here. There aren't enough people like that walking around.
ReplyDeleteJody may not have expressed himself very diplomatically, but he has a point. Riding bicycles alongside or among motor vehicles is dangerous. If there are no bicycle paths around, drive a car.
So low that the school appears likely to be closed.
ReplyDeleteMonday, Monday...
.
You sure it wasn't on purpose?
