Glad to see the Obama Administration has its priorities straight in dealing with the oil spill crisis.
From an AP article in the LA Times:
A St. Louis scientist who was among a select group picked by the Obama administration to pursue a solution to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been removed from the group because of writings on his website, the U.S. Energy Department confirmed Wednesday."Dr. Chu has spoken with dozens of scientists and engineers as part of his work to help find solutions to stop the oil spill," a statement from the Energy Department said. "Some of Professor Katz's controversial writings have become a distraction from the critical work of addressing the oil spill. Professor Katz will no longer be involved in the Department's efforts." ...
Washington University physics professor Jonathan Katz was one of five top scientists chosen by the Department of Energy and attended meetings in Houston last week.
Though considered a leading scientist, Katz's website postings often touch on social issues. Some of those writings have stirred anger in the past and include postings defending homophobia and questioning the value of racial diversity efforts. ...
In a website posting titled "In Defense of Homophobia," Katz wrote about the AIDS epidemic.
"The human body was not designed to share hypodermic needles, it was not designed to be promiscuous, and it was not designed to engage in homosexual acts," he wrote. "Engaging in such behavior is like riding a motorcycle on an icy road without a helmet. It may be possible to get away with it for a while, and a few misguided souls may get a thrill out of doing so, but sooner or later (probably sooner) the consequences will be catastrophic. Lethal diseases spread rapidly among people who do such things."
The stuffing down the Memory Hole of the primary cause of the AIDS epidemic in America in the 1980s -- the gay liberation in the 1970s -- is one of the most audacious accomplishments in the history of rewriting history. From what I hear now, you would think the AIDS epidemic broke out in Provo and Peoria, rather than in West Hollywood, Castro Street, and Greenwich Village.
In another posting, Katz questioned the value of diversity efforts.
"The diversity movement is racist at its core," he writes. "When dealing with people we should be concerned with intellect, talent, character and accomplishment. People aren't dogs or cattle; race matters only to racists."
A.J. Bockelman, director of PROMO, a St. Louis-bases advocacy group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, applauded the decision to remove Katz.
"It's disappointing at a time like this that when all Americans need to come together and focus on relief efforts and recovery efforts in the Gulf, someone divisive was placed in a position of power," Bockelman said.
Isn't it great that we finally have a "pro-science" Democratic Administration?
Sacked him quicker than Van Jones, Anita Dunn, and Jeremiah Wright.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything Obama is saying or doing as president that could not have been predicted from his history or associations? Anything?
The only thing that really surprises me is how brazen he is about it. The man is an arrogant ass. I thought after years of climbing the political ladder that he'd be used to being at least a little more secretive and tactful. Maybe he realizes he has no real chance at re-election, anyway, so is just inflicting as much damage as he can as quickly as possible.
Yeah, but he's Jewish.
ReplyDeleteAre we allowed to root for him at iSteve?
Hmmm... this is a real quandary...
On the all-too-rare occasion when I get to discuss AIDS with anyone under 40, I always mention Larry Kramer's 1979 novel "Faggots." It's so much fun to watch them well up with righteous horror, assuming it's some kind of Coors-funded rightwing political screed, and then explain that it was written by the founder of Act-Up, and poses the question whether gay life amounts to anything more than a quest for drug-fueled thrills. One Sunday morning in 1980, a 25-year old gay guy with whom I worked reported to me with evident pride: "I did 7 last night."
ReplyDeleteLiberals are such hypocrites. They bitch and whine about how the US government fired or 'harassed' atomic scientists with communist ties or sympathies in the late 40s and 50s--at the height of the Cold War when Stalin and his satellite regimes were killing countless victims and when the US government was infiltrated with commie spies and agents--, but they are ever so quick to condemn and fire a scientist because of his views on social issues. McCarthyism or PcCarthyism is okay as long as the Right is targeted and destroyed by 'guilt by association or ideology'.
ReplyDeleteThe only problem I have with Katz is his use of 'homophobia'. It is a bogus term. Most of us are homocules--those who ridicule homosexuality--, not 'homophobes'. A phobia is an extreme, irrational, hysterical, and/or manic fear or dread of something natural or harmless. People with phobia for snakes even freak out in the presence of small cute non-venomous snakes. People with hydrophobia--rabies--freak out at the sight of water.
So-called 'homophobes' are mostly okay with gays as long as gays do their weird stuff in their own bedrooms and in their own time. What most of us decent folks oppose is the silly gay agenda notion that homosexuality is healthy, decent, and the biological/moral equivalent of hetero- or normal sexuality. How can a guy acting like a winny be normal? How can anal sex between two men be decent?
It is a new kind of Victorian repressionism. Victorians suppressed natural sexual feelings. Gay Agenda seeks to suppress the NATURAL, NORMAL, and HEALTHY feelings of distate people have for homosexuality and gay behavior among guys.
In order to hoodwink all of us, leftist Hollywood has been trying to normalize gays while abnormalizing straight people. In movies and TV shows, gays are often the most well-adjusted and Ozzie-and-Harriet-ish people on Earth while seemingly normal traditional families are really into incest, bestiality, spouse abuse, child abuse, murder, rape, orgy, etc. Hollywood gives us the inversion of all values.
"Homophobia" is a ridiculous term cooked up by normophobes in order to paint and taint those who oppose the gay agenda as mentally ill.
There was a time when homosexuality was considered a mental illness. Now, people who find homosexuality to be gross--gay sex between men is indeed gross--are considered to be mentally ill!!!
The liberals also tried to convince America that conservatives suffered from 'paranoid authoritarian mentality'.
Like 'racism', 'homophobia' is a term that must be questioned and deconstructed.
So, Katz should really have written IN DEFENSE OF NORMOSEXUALITY. Defending a PHOBIA makes one sound deranged.
Jack Aubrey..."The only thing that really surprises me is how brazen he [Obama] is about it. The man is an arrogant ass. I thought after years of climbing the political ladder that he'd be used to being at least a little more secretive and tactful."
ReplyDeleteSecretive and tactful are not traits I associate with blacks. Brazen is.
Nor do I view Obama as one who spent years "climbing" the political ladder. My take was that he'd been gently lifted up it rung by rung by left-wing whites.
The only problem I have with Katz is his use of 'homophobia'. It is a bogus term...
ReplyDeleteIt is a new kind of Victorian repressionism. Victorians suppressed natural sexual feelings...
Dude - if you think that the folks who were having 10, 12, or 15 children in their families were in any way "suppressing" their "natural sexual feelings", then you shouldn't be lecturing anyone on swallowing the PC dogma.
The Puritans, the Victorians, the tent-revivalists: They all loved to get it on.
They just got it on [and on, and on, and on, and on again] within the confines of a fertile marriage.
"It's disappointing at a time like this that when all Americans need to come together and focus on relief efforts and recovery efforts in the Gulf, someone divisive was placed in a position of power," Bockelman said.
ReplyDeleteWhat is important is not that someone who actually has the abilities to help us solve a problem be allowed to do so, what is important is the symbolic image of all Americans coming together to solve problems, whether or not they have the ability to do so.
As we increasingly become a society dedicated to socialist fantasies, illusion becomes more important than reality.
I think unsullied heroes of the stature of Bishop Tutu, Erin Brockovich and Elie Wiesel are needed to stop this oil spill!
Has anyone asked Dr. Katz what he thinks about the British government's treatment of Alan Turing in the 1950s? I'm genuinely curious how his self-proclaimed homophobia colors his view of the matter.
ReplyDeleteHey, that AP article contained two intact paragraphs of Katz's doubleplusungood thoughtcrimes. It's like the way dissidents in the Soviet bloc used to communicate forbidden ideas; they'd denounce a capitalist roader and then quote entire pages of his writings.
ReplyDeleteI knew when I read his writings someone linked to here yesterday taht he was a goner. I'm sure his administration has been trying to get around tenure to fire him for years.
ReplyDelete"It is a new kind of Victorian repressionism. Victorians suppressed natural sexual feelings"
ReplyDeleteThere are few things more liberating for a moral conservative than to realize he is actually very permissive on issues like discrimination against sexual misbehavior. His adversaries are the restrictive and censorious ones.
I suspect Victorianism-bashing is itself a product of ideological history. At the start of the Victorian era, there were many many twelve-year-old prostitutes on the streets of London. Not at the end.
eah, but he's Jewish.
ReplyDeleteAre we allowed to root for him at iSteve?
that's the kind of jew we like here, sweetheart.
yep this is another one for the 'pc kills' files.
leftists politicize EVERYTHING. everything..their truth is all that matters... besides this oil spill is a gold mine for them. better than 9/11 for the neocons
Unbelievable. Since when is the pursuit of science dependent on one holding PC views?
ReplyDeleteBut Obama is a moderate right? Anyone suggesting otherwise was just craaazy.
"Has anyone asked Dr. Katz what he thinks about the British government's treatment of Alan Turing in the 1950s?"
ReplyDeletePersonally, I was kind of hoping someone would ask him how to stop the goddam oil spill, but I guess that won't be happening now.
That's one of the things that always cracks me up about homosexualism; the conflation of homosexuality and sodomy. The claim is that homosexuals are "born that way," naturally attracted to their own sex. Okay, fine, how does the conflation of homosexuality and sodomy inevitably follow on from that?
ReplyDeleteLiberals are such hypocrites.
Kinda, kinda not. They follow their Narrative pretty consistently. Their typical failings are conformity, cowardice, lack of principles, lack of curiosity, etc. It does wind up looking like hypocrisy though. Now the authors of the Narrative...
Katz is a natural hero of the movement and spokesman for the HBD movement but of course he won't take on this role because he is aware of the fact that the HBD movement has been infected by anti semites.
ReplyDeleteKatz doesn't strike me as a leader, exactly.
"Has anyone asked Dr. Katz what he thinks about the British government's treatment of Alan Turing in the 1950s?"
Personally, I was kind of hoping someone would ask him how to stop the goddam oil spill, but I guess that won't be happening now.
Yep.
the "dream team" will not have any practical effect on the situation in the gulf of mexico, though. only engineers and geologists already in the energy industry know enough about this stuff to have any useful input. it does not really matter who is on this obama panel.
ReplyDeletemight as well bring in stephen hawking to assist in an emergency aircraft landing, or help design a terrorist proof passenger jet. his expertise in physics is nearly irrelevant to what any technician or aeronautical engineer knows from decades of working with this stuff every day.

This is classic Marxist dialectic. Dr. Katz reckons that reckless behavior caused the AIDS epidemic. Hence he can't know anything about oil spills.
Anonymous, your line of reasoning appears to be:
ReplyDeleteAnti-Semitism = A Great Evil
Other forms of cultural and race discrimination = Necessary for the survival of society.
Now, if you happen to be Jewish, you run the risk of looking slightly hypocritical, and slightly ridiculous from not seeing the irony.
Some of reasons anti-semitism abounds in the HBD sphere are:
Many have guessed, rightly or wrongly, that what's best for Jews might be far from what's best for Whites. For instance, Jews tend to believe that they're safer in a multi-cultural society, so it follows that they are generally pro-immigration and pro-amnesty (immigration into Israel by non-Jews is whole 'nother story).
Jews voted for Obama to the tune of almost 80%. Before that, Jews had voted Democrat for as long as anyone could remember, making them the most reliably Democrat voting block after blacks.
A look at the names behind prominent left-wing media organizations, lobby groups and political activist non-profits like the Southern Poverty Law Center should prove highly illuminating.
I could go on but you get the picture.
By the way, his name is Mangan, not Managan.
"The anti semites that elbow their way in to every gathering of the HBD movement, including this blog, are the best weapon our enemies use against us. In fact, the anti semites like Managan are the most effective saboteurs of our movement. They are a fifth column. I don't know if they realize that they are destroying the credibility of our movement, and frightening away most of our potential allies, but they are. The message that HBD is real, and that we must protect our culture against alien invaders is popular."
ReplyDeleteWe must all put aside our differences, stop hating each other and hate the others!
"The anti semites that elbow their way in to every gathering of the HBD movement, including this blog, are the best weapon our enemies use against us"
ReplyDeleteWell, yes and no. Much of the HBD movement is anti-semitic, and you can't lose their support if you want to have anyone on your side. Furthermore, before they realize you actually don't want to cook them, most of the Jews are still going to fight you because the last time anyone saying something like HBD got power, six million of 'em wound up as soap. Having whole branches of your family tree wiped out is really, really scary. Furthermore, Germany was the center of Jewish life just like America is now, which just makes the parallels even worse.
That said, attacking anti-semites may play a role in acceptability in Europe in countries such as Holland and England which have unpleasant memories of the Nazis. No matter how they feel about Jews, almost nobody likes having their country invaded (least of all by anyone as bossy as the Germans). Poles are very anti-semitic, but they still hate the Germans for basically dividing their country up with Stalin.
I think the smartest thing would be to avoid any racial hatred. One of the central principles of the new HBD is that races are good at different things. Even Jews and Asians are good at different academic pursuits.
It's also wise to point out that these are average differences. I think a good example is the heights of women and men, which nobody can deny because they see it all around them. There are individual women who are taller than the average men, but overall women are shorter than men. This takes care of the "I know person X who doesn't fit stereotype Y" argument.
"the British government's treatment of Alan Turing": I don't think that it was much to do with the government, was it? It was to do with English criminal law - a bad law, to be sure, but passed in the 19th century, not the 1950s.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this has nothing to do with Obama. "In Defense of Homophobia" would have gotten Katz kicked off any government panel on any subject in any administration in the past 30 years, including the Reagan administration. The norms of permissible discourse on gays shifted with amazing speed during the 1980s.
ReplyDeleteIs Managan deliberately acting as a saboteur of our movement or is he acting as a saboteur out of blindness and ignorance? Who knows?
ReplyDeleteBlindness and ignorance, thanks. And it's Mangan.
'The human body was not designed... to be promiscuous'
ReplyDeleteUh-oh.
"Dude - if you think that the folks who were having 10, 12, or 15 children in their families were in any way "suppressing" their "natural sexual feelings", then you shouldn't be lecturing anyone on swallowing the PC dogma."
ReplyDeleteanon:
The English, *unlike* other underdeveloped societies that you probably are thinking of, practices population control.
The average fertility rate by the end of the 19th century was 3.5 children per women, not 10-15.
I can't get too worked up over this. BP has far more knowledgeable people than the dusty academics Obama can scrape together. The whole thing is an exercise in politics from the start, so the actual composition of the team doesn't matter.
ReplyDelete"It's disappointing at a time like this that when all Americans need to come together and focus on relief efforts and recovery efforts in the Gulf, someone divisive was placed in a position of power," Bockelman said.

ReplyDeleteAs evidenced by ....?
While we're on the subject, what's with this "ant-semite" nonsense? Jews are about as Semitic as the Eskimos.
Much of the HBD movement is anti-semitic
ReplyDeleteWhat? Absurd. They say the same thing about the BNP, but thta's wrong as well.
I believe I've seen you around HBD sites, so I'm somewhat surprised by this error.
As for Mangan being an AS: Another fallacious claim. I just don't see it; I think he's pretty judicious in his evaluation of Jews. Not all his commenters fit this same characterization, but I believe Mangan does.
It's not indicative of being an AS to state: "Hey maybe American interests are more important than Israeli ones." That's pragmatic nationalism, not hatred.
And Mangan doesn't engage in that insufferable Muslim pandering (i.e. "Israel is an apartheid state, but we loved Jim Crow"), so his position is consistent.
He may be Jewish, but he writes like David Hume. Of course the thing the establishment Left fears most is that the truth will get in the way of their sinecures, which makes him public enemy #1.
ReplyDelete"Coming together" and singing songs about diversity and gay people...

LOL unfortunately the former always trumps the latter.
"Yeah, but he's Jewish.
ReplyDeleteAre we allowed to root for him at iSteve?"
You act as if Steve were a Jew-hater. That's pretty obviously not the case. He has written admiringly of a number of Jews (most recently, the writer Lipsyte). Even when Steve takes a shot at a typical Jewish foible, he does it with a level of knowledge that belies any accusation of hatred. He is similar to Tom Wolfe in this regard.
That knowledge comes from close study, and that sort of study (of real Jews, not of Kevin MacDonald-style archetypes) is usually motivated by a certain amount of respect.
That seems to be Steve's approach to other ethnic groups as well. I can't remember him writing anything hateful about any of them.
Steve may throw an elbow once in a while, but that's just his style of play. It may limit his exposure in the MSM, but it also makes his blog an entertaining read. It would be hypocritical to chuckle to yourself while reading one of Steve's playful jabs at a black or Hispanic individual and then take offense when Jews get similar treatment.
"He may be Jewish, but he writes like David Hume."
ReplyDeleteScots can be dangerous too. Look where Britain is after letting two Scots run the show for so long.

ReplyDeleteThe Puritans, the Victorians, the tent-revivalists: They all loved to get it on.
Victorianism wasn't about NOT DOING IT but about NOT TALKING ABOUT IT.
The Muslim world is sexually repressive, but they sure have a lot of sex. Just look at the birthrates.
So, get it straight. I didn't say they didn't get it on. I said they were mostly allergic about sexual matters out in the public.
ReplyDeleteI suspect Victorianism-bashing is itself a product of ideological history. At the start of the Victorian era, there were many many twelve-year-old prostitutes on the streets of London. Not at the end.
First of all, Victorianism has to be understood as a CLASS thing.
Of course, there were lots of lewdness and such things happening all around. There were lots of whores and even aristocrats were jumping in and out of beds with other aristocrats or mistresses--and surely boarding school children were cracking sexual jokes behind their masters' backs.
HOWEVER, there was a strong sense of propriety among the RESPECTABLE classes--at least outwardly--, and it was a time when the RESPECTABLE classes did enjoy a certain prestige, and even lower class people tried to emulate them in manners and attitudes.
This wasn't necessarily a bad thing as a society that is totally slobby and pornographic--as in IDIOCRACY--is trashy and dehumanizing. However, it seems the Victorians--like their Catholic Counterparts(especially in Ireland)--went too far with their (anti)sexual mores. This isn't to say Victorianism was necessarily puritanical. Puritanism finds the sexual act itself dirty whereas proprietism finds only the open display of sexuality vulgar and crude.
Anyway, today you're more likely to find affluent people trying to imitate the behavior of lower classes. Even so, the educated and affluent want to be libertine and wild in a way that distinguishes them from other people. SWPL 'casualness' is actually rather pricey. They buy clothes that look ordinary but don't sell at Walmart but at come fancy store.
"The anti semites that elbow their way in to every gathering of the HBD movement, including this blog, are the best weapon our enemies use against us."
ReplyDeleteJewish power and policies are making 'anti-semites' out of white Americans. So-called 'anti-semitism' doesn't exist in a vacuum but in reaction to the policies and lies pushed by much of the Jewish community and power elite.
The real issue is that the broad middle of America, the white Christian patriotic types who make up the backbone of our country are much more likely to embrace HBD if anti semetism is not part of the HBD message.
ReplyDeleteHBD includes some mindless philo semites and also includes some anti semites. Why open up the debate about the jewish question? How does it serve the cause to have HBD blogs discussing the jewish question.
Geert has proven that a strong stand against immigration and a strong stand in favor of protecting majority rights and strong message asserting the superiority of majority culture will succeed - and will go from success to success.
Geert won by renouncing the anti semites in loud and blunt language. He may not set an example that appeals to Managan but he set an example that works.
We are about to lose our country to an alien invasion. Why not abandon the anti semetism, focus on what brings us all together and play to win. Play Geert's way.
It appears to me that niceness and playing fair are considered as virtues in the WASP community. Many wasps have not played fair and indeed done a lot of dirty things, but there is still the IDEAL that a GOOD wasp acts in a nice, decent, fair, and honest manner. So, when WASPS gained power and privilege, they could afford to be nice and fair, and went out of their way to be so.
ReplyDeleteI don't think NICENESS and FAIRNESS are considered serious virtues in the Jewish community. Indeed, I think many Jews look down on such qualities as naive, stupid, earnest, and dumb.
To a cunning and competitive people, 'niceness' and 'fairmindedness' are stupid and suicidal--unless they are used merely as ruses to fool people(as with the Corleones).
I've met many waspy types who are soooo good, decent, nice, kind, and so desperate to be liked and thought of as very good, decent, nice, and kind. They are likable enough but they don't have much in the way of defenses or survival senses.
I've hardly met Jews who considers 'niceness' and 'fairness' as great virtures in and of themselvse. At best, such are mere ruses to do business or gain an advantage.
There are lots of thoroughly NICE wasp and southern girls. There aren't too many genuinely NICE Jewish girls; they know how to smile and ACT nice, but one always senses their minds are on something else. When Elena Kagan smiles, she's just fooling you to gain power over you.
Personally, I was kind of hoping someone would ask him how to stop the goddam oil spill, but I guess that won't be happening now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's crazy talk.
Seriously, though, there is some value in making it clear that his position on gays is rational and not absolutely negative. It strengthens the case that he really deserves to be on the team; for better or worse, the lack of balance in his so-far-expressed opinions on gays does look quite odd even to people not brainwashed by the MSM.
As someone said on another blog, how come the POTUS didn't appoint a wise Latina to bring her life experience to assist in cleaning up the oil spill
ReplyDeleteKatz is a natural hero of the movement and spokesman for the HBD movement but of course he won't take on this role because he is aware of the fact that the HBD movement has been infected by anti semites.

Kudos on the Peoria mention!

Hey, Fred - three words:
TONGUE.
IN.
CHEEK.
Scots can be dangerous too. Look where Britain is after letting two Scots run the show for so long.
ReplyDeleteNot just two. Including the new PM thats three in a row.
A non-trivial number of our PMs have been Scottish or of some Scottish ancestry.
Cameron - some Scottish ancestry.
Brown - Scottish.
Blair - Scottish (but claims to identify as English), went to elite school in Scotland.
Wilson - some Scottish ancestry.
Home - some Scottish ancestry.
Macmillan - some Scottish ancestry.
Ramsay MacDonald - Scottish.
Bonar Law - Scottish (via Canada)
Campbell-Bannerman - Scottish.
Balfour - Scottish.
Thats ten out of the last twenty one PMs, going back @ 100 years.
Even one of those non-Scottish PMs, Asquith, always represented a Scottish seat.
It strengthens the case that he really deserves to be on the team; for better or worse, the lack of balance in his so-far-expressed opinions on gays does look quite odd even to people not brainwashed by the MSM.
ReplyDeleteWe must celebrate diversity!
But not diversity of opinion....
The paranoiac sector of the Jewish community must be frighted that the "antisemitic" label is losing its effectiveness outside the Jewish community.
ReplyDeleteBTW we need more Jewish judges on the SC, otherwise Jews will be forced to wear yellow stars.
Anti-antisemetic Anonymous (are you Clem?):
ReplyDeleteGeert is not about HBD. He talks about religion, not genetics. He's against Islam, not Arabs. And he opposes Islam in the name of liberalism, citing its intolerance. Frankly, I could see a "liberal hawk" American making the same arguments.
In any case, what works in Europe wouldn't necessarily work in America. Europe feels guilty about Jews. America doesn't so much (and shouldn't). Instead, America feels guilty about blacks.
What's your solution? An HBD that turns a blind eye to black shortcomings?
If your goal is to restrict immigration, you can do so without ever mentioning HBD, which is what Geert and many American Restrictionists are doing. But if you want to promote HBD, the best way is to apply it without exception.
""The anti semites that elbow their way in to every gathering of the HBD movement, including this blog, are the best weapon our enemies use against us"
ReplyDeleteDo you 150 IQ geniuses really have a problem realizing that one cannot separate racism from misogyny from antisemitism from HBD? Does this truly confound you?
Steve,
ReplyDeleteThe threads at Half Sigma's on homosexual behavior (kicked off by Katz postings) and how it should be discouraged were pure comedy gold; a Libertarian outrage ensued over pretty sensible comments on H.S.'s part.
The basic retort, along with many variations, went something like this: It's not homosexuals per se, but their promiscuity and proclivity for anal sex that spreads disease. Get rid of those and it's no problem!
God bless those geeks. When they aren't falling for H.S.'s implausible hoaxes, they say stuff like this.
Fred is right about the Scots tearing England down. But I’d guess there must have been an ethnic motive playing a part in it. Tony Blair even converted to being a Roman Catholic once he left office (his wife was all along).
ReplyDeleteThe problem with uniting to stop the alien invasion is that 80 percent of Jews voted for Obama. Jews are also more likely by huge margins over Christians to favor amnesty for illegals and increased immigration in general. It is up to the Jews who don’t agree with those positions to change the game amongst their own group, but it isn’t anti-Semitic for a gentile to point out the differences in group attitudes and that those need to change. I understand that Jews like our Anonymous don’t want Jews to get a reputation for supporting open borders and other policies that are bad for the majority. But the way to deal with that isn’t to kill the messenger with smears, but to change the attitudes of more Jews regarding immigration and other policies. To argue that Jews have a right to fear or hate white gentiles and therefore they won’t change their views is the same thing Al Sharpton says.
too much discussion of professor katz and not enough dialog on the fact that the whole idea of an oil spill "dream team" makes no sense at all.
ReplyDeletedid anybody read katz's first take on the oil spill? LOL. i think that in about 10 years, provided enough grant money, professor katz might be ready to run a physics experiment on the bernoulli properties of oil and water combining in a large volume at 5000 feet. real practical stuff. definitely solves a major problem.
i mean, the whole exercise is a total load of shit. what in the world would a collection of non-experts really be able to contribute after 1 week of THINKING about the problem. just thinking about it. no real world experience whatsoever. this isn't independence day or armageddon. this isn't some michael bay movie where a random genius is gonna solve the whole thing with a brief moment of insight, and figure out how to kill the aliens and save the world.
yeah, these "dream team" guys are totally going to solve some engineering problem that professional engineers trained to do this stuff, and who have been doing this stuff for 20 years, are helpless to tackle. professor katz has NO HOPE AT ALL of contributing anything important to this situation. we know this because the experts are already at the limits of their knowledge. there is ZERO specific physics information available for the depths at which this spill occurred, because this is the deepest underwater oil well EVER drilled. if the experts weren't sure about the physics, HOW ON EARTH is professor katz going to know FUCKING ANYTHING? he has NO mathematical models or information to work with. already, the experts were suprised by hydrate formation at that depth. of course they were, because NO HUMANS EVER have tried anything at this depth. academic professors are ABSOLUTELY USELESS in this situation. they rely on well worked out math and formulas to calculate and predict. such things do not exist here.
again, it's like hiring edward witten to design a jet fighter that will defeat the F22.
Katz's comments read like dumb creationist anti-science. If he had said "the human body was not designed - period", that would be in accord with what we know about Darwinian evolution. But he says it was not designed to do X. Logically he could mean it was not designed to do ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWY or Z either, because there was no magic super-being who designed it. But the implication is that the human body has a magic super-being designer, he designed it to do other things than X, and he'll be angry at people who do X with it. So we're heading for the "talking snake" theory, I guess.
ReplyDeletein fact, the more i think about this "dream team", the more it reminds me of the summer of 2008 and 4 dollar gasoline. democrat senators were pulling oil executives into the senate and demanding that they "Explain this bullshit!"
ReplyDeletemath and science clueless people, almost all of them career lawyers who have been completely detached from reality probably since their first year of college, totally ignorant of the day to day operations of how a business works or how various engineering processes make the modern world function.
when something is out of a democrat senator's control, and they can't wave their little lawyer wand and legislate the laws of physics and chemistry to their liking, they flail around helplessly, trying to bully technical experts into making physics and chemistry behave according to some preposterous notion in their lawyer mind.
"Do you 150 IQ geniuses really have a problem realizing that one cannot separate racism from misogyny from antisemitism from HBD? Does this truly confound you?"
ReplyDeleteIn practice, that does seem to be true. I don't think any of those isms applies to Steve, but they do apply to some commenters here and on other HBD blogs.

There are some good Jews.
My sad conclusion is that we are watching the approach of a dark age of incompetence brought on by salting our vital industries and institutions with affirmative action people -- not only do they make dumb mistakes, but they cause the people around them not to care, to do just the minimum to get by -- what's the point of excelling when nobody notices or someone else will try to take the credit or everyone will refuse to take the blame. One need only read the newspapers on any day in California and see this.
ReplyDelete"Why open up the debate about the jewish question? How does it serve the cause to have HBD blogs discussing the jewish question."
ReplyDeleteI won't defend the genuine anti-Semites who hang out at these sites, as I despise them, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to see some of the muck that Steve has to clean out of the filter, and I resent it when Jews are brought up when they have no relation to the post; but I make no apologies for those asking genuine questions regarding Jewish influence. That does not mean I want to see anyone or their ancestors or descendants turned into soap.
I make no apologies for pointing out that the Democratic obsession with diversity, equality and identity politics completely contradicts the fact that a hugely disproportionate number of their appointees to the highest positions of power, including Obama's chief of staff, the Supreme Court (3 of their last 4 nominees) and the Federal Reserve Board (all 3 of their latest nominees) are Jews.
I make no apologies for pointing out that while Jews have supported the politics of forced integration they have been among the best at insulating themselves from the consequences of that integration.
If Jews don't like that critique then they are free to reject these policies and the party that supports them.
Furthermore, I make no apologies for criticizing Jews as I belong or have belonged to ethnic, religious, political, cultural and geographical minorities that have been routinely lampooned and even outright demonized by the media and entertainment communities. Sometimes I even manage to find these critiques valid.
The truth is that it does not really matter much if Jews join the HBD "movement", for it is not a movement - it is a set of facts; a science.
Humans are not blank slates. That is a fact.
Mass immigration by third world peasants will destroy this country and render it ungovernable. That is a fact.
Mass immigration by third world peasants will turn this country from an advanced, technological, prosperous, Western country into a Latin hellhole. That is a fact.
Minority quotas, set-asides and affirmative action will destroy American commerce. That is a fact.
The obsession with racial equality will destroy the American educational system. That is a fact.
Welfare costs for minorities will eventually help to render the government insolvent. That is a fact.
For any doubts about this see California, Mississippi, or any other state with a huge NAM population.
Not only will these things destroy this country, but they are destroying them.
These are all facts, and they are true whether Jews, Catholics, Martians, Mormons or anyone else believes in them. You only have to look at the daily headlines: California's economic meltdown. Kids in California sent home for wearing American flag shirts. The economic boycotts of Arizona. The $1.6 trillion deficit. The stumbling economy.
All of these issues are coming to a head, now or not long from now.
"Do you 150 IQ geniuses really have a problem realizing that one cannot separate racism from misogyny from antisemitism from HBD? Does this truly confound you?"
ReplyDeleteNo, but it obviously confounds you. HBD simply notes differences that clearly exist without promoting hatred. Rational people can note differences without succumbing to hatred. Rational people can also note that policy prescriptions based on the false assumption that all groups have similar average ability and similar distributions of abilities are going to be failures because of that false premise. Goals like having half of the physics professors be women necessarily require that many more qualified men will not have positions so that less qualified women can have those positions. Such goals are simply absurd. It would be similarly absurd to limit the percentage of all Jewish professors to their 2% population representation. There are far too many Jews who are qualified to limit their participation. It would be stupid.
Everyone should have opportunity regardless of sex, race, region, class or ethnicity. No quotas. Diversity goals are just soft edged quotas which similarly promote unrealistic expectations and render hurt feelings and wasted resources.
jody sed:too much discussion of professor katz and not enough dialog on the fact that the whole idea of an oil spill "dream team" makes no sense at all.
ReplyDeleteI agree with jody here. The guys who are going to fix this thing are the same type of people who worked on the rig when it exploded. Just they have to replace them coz many died. Who else knows best how to operate the equipment?
The dreamteam is just PC-PR to prevent this thing turning into Obama's Katrina. All that Obama and his puppetmaster care about is his media image. That's all.
"-- what's the point of excelling when nobody notices or someone else will try to take the credit or everyone will refuse to take the blame. One need only read the newspapers on any day in California and see this."
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Vanity Fair (?) picture of all the new starlets. People will gravitate to things where they will get credit: Sports, Entertainment, Cooking, etc.
So you can be the most brilliant scientist in the world, capable of doing great good for humanity, but if you don't approve of homosexuality, you don't get to do any work or receive any funding....?
ReplyDelete>making it clear that his position on gays is rational and not absolutely negative [...] strengthens the case that he really deserves to be on the team<
ReplyDeleteSo positive regard for homosexuality is a necessary (though not sufficient, we hope) qualification for being on a team cleaning up oil spills.
Insanity.
Homosexuals are like the guy who has only a hammer. Every issue looks like a nail to him. Is it good for queers? - is ALL that matters.
>the last time anyone saying something like HBD got power, six million of 'em wound up as soap<
The soap claim has been retracted and dismissed. (Good Jewish source, not anti-semitic:)

>Scots can be dangerous too.<
I heard that famed defense attorney Clarence Darrow had a standing rule never to put Scotsmen on the stand. He was convinced their testimony is worthless (he did cross-examine a few in a pinch, but this was rare).
Do you 150 IQ geniuses really have a problem realizing that one cannot separate racism from misogyny from antisemitism from HBD?
ReplyDeleteWe 150 IQ geniuses have zero problem in distinguishing between these different things. In fact we are pretty sure that any normal person can do the same.
They could ask Red Adair. Except that he's dead. So at least he would not be un-PC. He couldn't help cap that well though. In that way he'd be about as useful as Katz. Although more PC. So advantage Adair.
ReplyDeleteI heard that famed defense attorney Clarence Darrow had a standing rule never to put Scotsmen on the stand.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know what they say: If you're innocent, you want a military tribunal; if you're guilty, you want a civilian jury.
I imagine that a similar principle applies when defense attorneys consider the kinds of witnesses they'd prefer to call...
"No, but it obviously confounds you. HBD simply notes differences that clearly exist without promoting hatred. Rational people can note differences without succumbing to hatred."
ReplyDeleteGreat, then why don't you find a few of thosed "rational people" and invite them to comment here, because they certainly don't come around on their own.
Truth sed
ReplyDeleteGreat, then why don't you find a few of thosed "rational people" and invite them to comment here, because they certainly don't come around on their own.
Yeah, I also realised that reading your posts.
"Great, then why don't you find a few of thosed "rational people" and invite them to comment here, because they certainly don't come around on their own."
ReplyDeleteAny white that doesn't buy into the theory that whites are to be displaced in every part of the world, and any white that believes in white self-determination is considered irrational by the likes of you. That's a fact - and you are right - all the HBD talk and superiority/equality talk by the various parties is a distraction from that.
>So you can be the most brilliant scientist in the world, capable of doing great good for humanity, but if you don't approve of homosexuality, you don't get to do any work or receive any funding....?<
ReplyDeleteCorrect. Obedience to the elites is the necessary condition of doing or being anything significant in this society. Ask James Watson.
Scientist, artist, businessman, politician: step outside the bounds set by the elites, and you're flipping burgers at McDonalds. Or hitting the retirement fund early, or getting very creative.
This will continue until we put an end to it.
"At the start of the Victorian era, there were many many twelve-year-old prostitutes on the streets of London. Not at the end."
ReplyDeleteWell, duh. They'd have been in their 80s by then.
Puritanism finds the sexual act itself dirty....
ReplyDeleteNo. Read Albion's Seed. Pages 87-88:
Copulation was not a taboo subject in seventeenth-century Massacusetts.... It was discussed so openly that the writings of the Puritans required haevy editing before they were thought fit to print even in the mid-twentieth century.... The Puritans never encouraged sexual asceticism. They did not value chastity in the Roman Catholic sense as highly as other Christians did. The Boston minister Samuel Willard explicitly condemned "the Popist conceit of the excellence of virginity".... Puritans also commonly believed that an intimate sexual bond between husbands and wives was an important and even a necessary part of marriage.
In fact, the anti semites like Managan [sic] are the most effective saboteurs of our movement.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't that long ago that Mangan's detractors considered him a philosemite. Either way, his blog has hosted some good discussions recently.
Katz is a natural hero of the movement and spokesman for the HBD movement but of course he won't take on this role because he is aware of the fact that the HBD movement has been infected by anti semites.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is the HBD "movement"? The study of HBD is just a slice of science. It's just a matter of seeking truth.
The real issue is that the broad middle of America, the white Christian patriotic types who make up the backbone of our country are much more likely to embrace HBD if anti semetism is not part of the HBD message.
ReplyDeleteThe "H" in HBD stands for "human". Jews are human; therefore the study of HBD involves the study of Jews. QED.
""It's disappointing at a time like this that when all Americans need to come together and focus on relief efforts and recovery efforts in the Gulf, someone divisive was placed in a position of power," Bockelman said."
ReplyDeleteAs a liberal, can I just give a hearty f**k you to this clown.
>someone divisive<
ReplyDeleteThe outcry did not come from the broad public, but from an almost infinitely small number of individuals.
It is those individuals who are divisive.
