Gladwell seems to passionately believe his own divorced-from-reality grand unifying big idea schick. He's more like a couch-hopping Tom Cruise than a bemusedly calculating L.Ron Hubbard.
His childlike wonder over uncritically recycling, summarizing and mass packaging some moonbat academic works makes it all the more appealing to his mass middlebrow audience seeking insights that seem to boarder on the profound.
Why exactly are we supposed to hate Malcolm Gladwell again? I've never read any of his books but are Blink, The Tipping Point, and Outliers really that bad? What's so bad about them?
Too much real stuff going on to mock Gladwell now.. I don't know how any SWPL types could still waste time reading such stuff, with the stuff going on (Bernake, fed, failing middle east, failing diversity etc. )

You don't have to "hate" him; just recognize him as an ardent purveyor of misinformation -- all done under the guise of "overturning the conventional wisdom."
