Arthur Brisbane, the "Public Editor" of the New York Times, chastises an earlier NYT story:
The story quickly climbed The Times’s “most emailed” list but not just because of the sensational facts of the crime involved. “Vicious Assault Shakes Texas Town,” published on Tuesday, reported the gang rape by 18 boys and men of an 11-year-old girl in the East Texas town of Cleveland.
The viral distribution of the story was, at least in part, because of the intense outrage it inspired among readers who thought the piece pilloried the victim.
My assessment is that the outrage is understandable. The story dealt with a hideous crime but addressed concerns about the ruined lives of the perpetrators without acknowledging the obvious: concern for the victim.
While the story appeared to focus on the community’s reaction to the crime, it was not enough to simply report that the community is principally concerned about the boys and men involved – as this story seems to do. If indeed that is the only sentiment to be found in this community – and I find that very hard to believe – it becomes important to report on that as well by seeking out voices of professional authorities or dissenting community members who will at least address, and not ignore, the plight of the young girl involved.
Let’s consider the particulars:
The story by James C. McKinley Jr. reported that residents of the town noted the girl dressed “older than her age,” wore makeup and fashions “more appropriate to a woman in her 20s” and hung out with older boys at the playground.
The story also quoted one resident, saying, “Where was her mother? What was her mother thinking?”
Referring to some of the defendants in the case, the same resident was quoted saying, “These boys have to live with this the rest of their lives.”
The fourth paragraph of the story laid out the basic themes of the story:
The case has rocked this East Texas community to its core and left many residents in the working-class neighborhood where the attack took place with unanswered questions. Among them is, if the allegations are proved, how could their young men have been drawn into such an act?
These elements, creating an impression of concern for the perpetrators and an impression of a provocative victim, led many readers to interpret the subtext of the story to be: she had it coming.
What in the world was going on with the initial story? Talking about the clothes the female was wearing and so forth has been a huge feminist no-no in reporting on rape (regular or statutory) cases for a generation or more. Why would the NYT violate feminist shibboleths in initially reporting this story? What facts are crucial to understanding the original NYT story's remarkable concern for the males involved, yet aren't mentioned in either the original story or the ombudsman's critique?
Could it have anything to do with the unmentionable demographics of the accused rapists in this "working-class neighborhood" in Texas? (Judging from the NYT's comments, I'd guess a lot of the emailing of the original article by NYT readers was of the "Look at what those vicious Red State Republicans do to little girls" variety.)
As commenters have pointed out, the NYT's sympathetic coverage of the Cleveland 18 is reminiscent of its sympathetic coverage of the Jena 6, the high school football stars with long records of violent behavior, who stomped an unconscious high school student. In contrast, the NYT's intensive coverage of the Duke Lacrosse 25 who were falsely accused of rape, was unsympathetic in the extreme.
What could possibly explain this pattern?

Fortunately, we can go to a foreign country to find out what is happening in America and why it's tying the NYT in knots.
The London tabloid The Daily Mail conveniently lists the NYT's omitted facts in its headlines:
- Activist claims arrests show 'selective prosecution' of African-American community-Meeting planned to discuss arrests receives 'death threats'- Outrage over newspaper report that claimed victim 'dressed older than her age, wearing make-up'- Defence attorney slammed for suggesting girl was a 'willing participant'
In other words, this is another Jena 6 story -- a bunch of young black guys in a southern small town do something bad to somebody nonblack and then the national press turns it into a story about how these young fellows are, when you stop to think about it, the real victims.
In this case, however, the victim was not a 17-year-old white guy, but an 11-year-old Hispanic girl, so the NYT is getting called out on it, although in an extremely gingerly fashion. In contrast, the ludicrous coverage of the Jena 6 went on and on.

When this came out I immediately wondered what the race was. When the race was not listed I knew the 18 rapists were black. The only question was what race was the victim.
ReplyDeleteThese things happen in a country that still has a first world standard of living. What happens when the dollar falls and the welfare checks stop.
We are truly living in a cowardly country. Lets hope everyone here does not live in some ghetto when the bad times really start.
Yeah, I'd also wondered a little about "mysteriously missing details" of the story when it came out, but given the Internet, was sure I'd soon find out. Reality-detection was much more difficult in the pre-Web days.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't really see that the girl's being Hispanic had more than the slightest marginal impact on the NYT's slant. Frankly, the details are so exceptionally horrifying---18 gang-rapists vs. an 11-year-old girl---that NYT's coverage here seemed arguably more pro-perp than in the Jena 6 case or just about any other cross-racial incident I can think of. After all, this isn't quite like a school fight or that sort of thing.
Maybe this was what poor little Yesenia had in the back of her mind...
This sort of thing is the reason that I have intentionally avoided living in any city with higher than 10% NAM my entire adult life. Growing up in a city with ~30% NAM was far more informative to me than all the NYT articles, college professors, books, social science classes, etc that I have been exposed to over the course of my life.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Jena 6, it would be interesting to start a wikipedia category and article for "fabricated racist incidents."
ReplyDeleteThere have been several involving nooses and swastikas, as well as the deranged McCain volunteer who carved a B for Barack in her face and claimed some black guys did it in Pittsburgh.
Once again, race trumps gender.
ReplyDeleteSpeaker further of the Jena 6 and wikipedia, here is what they've been up to recently:
ReplyDelete--
In February 2007, Jesse Ray Beard was accused, and subsequently convicted and sentenced for simple battery, simple criminal damage to property less than $500 and simple assault. He received a suspended sentence of incarceration, and was placed on house arrest.[99]
Bryant Purvis, aged 19, was arrested on February 7, 2008 for an assault causing bodily injury on a fellow high school student in Texas, where he now resides.[104] Purvis was placed on probation for a year and required to do community service for the offense.[105]
Corwin Jones, by then aged 19, was arrested on May 10, 2008 in LaSalle Parish on a charge of misdemeanor simple battery, stemming from an incident three days earlier in which the Sheriff's Department alleges that Jones struck a man from behind as several people, including Jones, came towards the man and his friends, with Jones' companions carrying baseball bats. Jones denied fault, stating that the incident was caused by a fight the previous day in which Jones states he was not involved, that he had been harassed and intimidated, and "that the incident that day 'struck a nerve and I reacted'."[104]
Jones had previously been arrested on January 24, 2008 on a trespass-related charge.[104]
Also on May 10, Mychal Bell was stopped in Olla, Louisiana for speeding and not having proper vehicle insurance while on a weekend pass from his sentence. Bell was not supposed to leave Monroe, Louisiana during the pass. The vehicle was towed due to the lack of insurance.[104] In an interview televised on CNN on August 24, 2008, Bell admitted to striking Barker and called Jena "a real racist town".[106]
Marcus Jones, Bell's father, blamed Bell's attorney at the time of the plea agreement for the denial. "If it weren't for his attorney, Mychal would be able to play football," Jones said. "They coerced him into taking that plea agreement. If he wouldn't have taken that plea, he wouldn't be in the position he's in now."[108] After the hearing, Jones allegedly spat in the face of his son's attorney, Carol Powell-Lexing, and supposedly also pushed her to the floor. Jones denied assaulting Powell-Lexing, stating he would never get into a physical fight with a woman.[109] Jones was charged with assault.[110] Despite the alleged assault, Powell-Lexing continued as part of Bell's defense team.[111]
Bell's mother, Melissa Bell, was arrested on October 11, 2008 on two counts of aggravated battery for allegedly hitting two women with a shovel, and was held on $100,000 bail.[112]
ReplyDeleteShe was arrested again on April 6, 2009, on a charge of contempt of court for failure to pay child support.[113]
On December 24, 2008, Bell was arrested and charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, and simple assault. According to police, Bell was caught as he and another male attempted to steal $370 worth of clothing from Dillard's department store. While being arrested, he reportedly fought back against a security guard and off-duty police officer. He was released on $1,300 bond.
On December 29, 2008, Bell shot himself in the chest with a .22-caliber pistol in a failed attempt to take his own life, stating to police that he was tired of all the media attention.[114] Since the hospital in Monroe was unable to stop his internal bleeding, Bell was transferred to a hospital in Shreveport for specialist care. Powell-Lexing denied that Bell had tried to kill himself, saying that the gun went off while Bell was attempting to clean it.[115]
On January 15, 2009, CNN featured an interview with Bell in which he indicated that he obtained a gun out of despair following the shoplifting arrest, initially tried to shoot himself in the head, but the gun misfired, and that he then shot himself in the chest. Bell stated that he is back in school and still hopes to receive a college football scholarship.[116] As these were Bell's first charges as an adult, he was eligible for a diversion program; the charges were dismissed in early 2010.[117] Bell enrolled at Southern University in 2009.[117]
On May 22, 2010, Mychal Bell was arrested and charged with simple battery after an incident at a Jena barber shop. According to the arresting officers, after being read his Miranda rights, Bell informed them that he attacked the man for "running his mouth". Bell said he punched the victim in the face, put him in a headlock and rammed his head into a table.
How were the anti-NYT commentators supposed to know she was Hispanic considering her race and name weren't printed. Maybe they were more horrified by the victim blaming than the possibility of a nonwhite defendant. There are black and hispanic victims everyday where is their liberal media blitz? If it weren't for rape shield laws I'm sure the media would try to turn every sympathetic rape victim into a media event just like they do with kidnappings and murders.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous Bob said...Speaking of Jena 6, it would be interesting to start a wikipedia category and article for "fabricated racist incidents."
ReplyDeleteSomeone took a whack at it.
New entries could be added every week, I'm sure.
It was an 11 year old girl whose actions/dress the NYT was implicitly criticizing. You don't have to be a feminist to find that disgusting. They weren't only violating feminist views, but basic decency, and yes, all because the offenders were black. Good ol' Quanell X, the activist from Houston, is screeching because "there might have been other, non-black offenders". That's the big cause. I'm from Houston, and that's been the sort of thing this guy has done for decades.
ReplyDeleteActually, this raises a follow-up question in my mind, which perhaps someone can answer...
ReplyDeleteOffhand, the prolonged gang rape in a small town of an 11-year-old girl by 18 teenagers of a different race is a pretty newsworthy event, which might perhaps attract at least a bit of major media coverage if a few details were different. And I saw some mention somewhere that some Texas "political activists" are actually arguing the rape was justified, which would normally attract additional attention.
Naturally, there's probably going to be zero coverage in the mainstream American electronic media. But I'm quite curious about whether the Spanish-language TV and radio networks have "culturally assimilated" enough to similarly forego gigantic ratings for ideological reasons, or whether outrage plus money might still hold a slight edge. Does anyone know how or if Univision, Telemundo, or the numerous Spanish-language radio talkers are covering the story?
"These things happen in a country that still has a first world standard of living. What happens when the dollar falls and the welfare checks stop."
ReplyDeleteI think it will initially be horrific, but all those white liberals will very, very quickly manage to get themselves guns and find out how to use them (some of them already have them). I live in the DC area, and while there are many liberals, they're not stupid, and they're aware of the violent tendencies of the black underclass (and the ones under 40 are open about it). I laugh at the hordes of black kids fighting and causing scenes and being nasty to passengers on the Metro and the black power males spouting they're anti-white #$%^ on busy street corners with lots of non-blacks walking by. They're educating the capital's public more than all the blogs on the internet combined.
Thank you, Steve. This is so despicable that I wouldn't have the strength like you to write anything coherent. When I get some cash, I'll send you a few bucks.
ReplyDeleteAmerica sucks.
Cleveland is on the way from Dallas to Lake Charles, and I've been through there many times on one of those state highways where you go straight through town, traffic lights and all.
ReplyDeleteEast Texas isn't exactly the Delta, so you don't get towns that are 75% or even 50% black. Thus, I would assume that a school board member is probably white, and, when the Times notes the involvement of the son of a school board member, I have to wonder whether that's the association the Times expects us to make.
Either because they're getting more dishonest over time, or (more likely) because of the internet's ability to bypass the owners of the megaphones, it's become almost impossible to miss the level of bullshit in the respectable, mainstream US media. Whether the topic is race relations, war, government budgets, terrorism, health, the economy, or anything else, a large fraction of what gets reported is either heavily spun in some desired direction, visibly hammers the facts into some pre-decided narrative, or simply blackholes critical facts. (Sometimes, whole important stories simply vanish, as with coverage of protests that don't have one of the big media companies rooting for them, or blackholing of the pentagon military advisor scandal on TV news.)
ReplyDeleteAnd every time someone like the NYT or CNN or Fox or NPR or Washington Post does this, they lose credibility. It becomes obvious to everyone paying attention that these guys are either intentionally dishonest, too dumb to avoid being played by their sources, or simply too locked into an ideological prison to realize how far off from reality their stories have gotten.
"These things happen in a country that still has a first world standard of living. What happens when the dollar falls and the welfare checks stop."
ReplyDeleteBetter buy some irons...
"“These boys have to live with this the rest of their lives.”
ReplyDeleteThat was the only sentence in a 17 paragraph article that I could VERY LIBERALLY chalk up as "concern for the perpetrators."
Suppose there is an earthquake like in Japan. Then suppose Welfare and other assistance does not come?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the reaction of the Black community will be?
However, this is not 1965. It is not even 1991. The Edmund Pettis Bridge incident was 46 years ago. While Whites are now the visible, functional minority in many parts of the country and the ballyhooed stuff about "the end of White majority status" all over the media has Whites, those not rich and isolated, anxious and afraid.
The tolerance say, something along the lines of the Rodney King riots in response to an earthquake is not going to be large. You'll see stuff like the Korean shopowners shooting at those coming to burn them out, all over the place.
The most dangerous thing for the Federal and State governments is essentially abdicating authority and enabling "anarcho-tyranny." Already that vacuum is being filled, in various places. America has a long history of Bacon's Rebellion, Regulators, Committees of Vigilance, and so on when authorities fail to do their job against threats internal or external. This is particularly true if it is widespread and part of internal elite politics.
"RKU said...
ReplyDeleteMaybe this was what poor little Yesenia had in the back of her mind..."
Hmm, I am not sure what this means. Are you inferring that the little girl had it coming or something?
Is this any worse than the way the media handled the mass murder of eight whites last summer by Omar Thornton, a black employee who had been caught stealing? The focus was almost entirely on whether or not the victims were racists, as Thornton claimed.
ReplyDeleteThe CIA's Mission Impossible special effects department must have been working hard to cgi-manufacture the cell-phone pictues and videos to frame the Cleveland Twenty-Eight!!!
ReplyDelete"Concerns about the ruined lives of the perpetrators" never seem to come up when the perps - or just alleged perps - are white. Remember the Duke University rape hoax?
ReplyDeleteYears ago in my city, a black guy shot a white college girl dead at an ATM. The headline the next day: "What Did She Say to Him?"
By the way, I wonder if Slim has anything to do with Brisbane's crocodile tears.
Hilarious in a sick way.
ReplyDeleteI've read the comments and it looks like the New York Times is censoring pretty much any reference to the perps race. Only one comment directly mentioning race made it through, and it was complaining about an earlier comment being censored.
I bet you James McKinley, the author of the original piece, is black too.
ReplyDeleteStill, it's good to see Mr. Brisbane participating fully in society after his release from the Psychoneurotic Institute for the Very, Very Nervous.
ReplyDeleteDid his daughter end up marrying that nice Dr. Thorndyke?
James McKinley Jr. has covered up obvious connections before as evidenced by this:
ReplyDelete"Jihad Watch reader Mike read this post about a New York Times article in which the author, James C. McKinley, Jr., noted that Fort Hood jihadist Nidal Hasan shouted “Allahu akbar” before he started on his mass-murder spree, and then said, “Yet the gunman and his motive remain an enigma.”"
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/10/new-york-times-reporter-cant-find-fort-hood-jihadists-motive-or-basic-civility.html
I dont think there is any enigma about a gunman who yells "Allahu Akbar" before shooting 30 people, and any journalist who claims otherwise is a Soviet-Style liar.
A little googling has led me to believe that this McKinley us a journalistic nogoodnik.
If 16 white boys raped an 11 year old hispanic girl, the NYT would have spared us no details.
The Cleveland 18? Or even the Cleveland 28??!!
ReplyDeleteRKU said:
"But I don't really see that the girl's being Hispanic had more than the slightest marginal impact on the NYT's slant."
Agreed. I've never seen a story split the Times from other liberals like this; they are completely alone.
The following article is not as bad as the Times's, but one would think that Whites, and not Hispanics, were more central to the crime (I've yet to see any Hispanic, upset or not, quoted to illustrate the premise that there are racial tensions):
http://abcnews.go.com/US/gang-rape-charges-18-men-sparks-racial-tensions/story?id=13095476&page=2
The horrific demands of political correctness when there are conflicting groups of the oppressed!!!! I'm guessing this group of real rapists is getting a much lighter admonishment than the Duke Lacrosse team, and the Duke Lacrosse didn't commit a crime in the first place. It's hard being the voice of Mainstream Media when you have balance demands of the SPLC and NOW, Whose to side to choose? whose side to choose? Well, let's not mention the racial background of the perpetrators for starters. I'm so glad we have the web to give a less filtered version than the NYT provides.
ReplyDeleteYou JUST KNOW when your dealing with a black called Quanell X, that you've got trouble.
ReplyDeleteBlacks are higher up on the 'noble victim' hierarchy, so it's just how it goes.
ReplyDeleteWell, before we all rush as a mob to convict the men involved, we should remember two things:
ReplyDeleteA. The rush to judgment on the Duke Lacrosse Rape case
B. Hofstra:
http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/p/lamb-to-slaughter-hofstra-false-rape.html
In my experience, while blacks and hispanics often (but not ALWAYS) get a pass from the regular press if accused of a crime involving whites they do not get this pass if the crime is amongst their own or between each other.
I'm glad there is SOME skepticism about this claim. From what I've read it's hardly some open and shut case, there's not really been enough details released to even say it's alleged sex between the purported victim and all of the perps.
I want men accused of rape to stop being considered automatically guilty and I don't care if you believe this because "women don't lie about rape" or because everyone knows that all NAMS are horrible savages who are totally guilty of anything any NAM or non-NAM says about them.
In short, keep your prejudice on a leash and don't check your brain at the door.
Clarence
I didn't need to guess.
ReplyDeleteThis paragraph, from the earlier NYT article, told me all I needed to know:
"The case has rocked this East Texas community to its core and left many residents in the working-class neighborhood where the attack took place with unanswered questions. Among them is, if the allegations are proved, how could their young men have been drawn into such an act?"
As I understand it McKinley mainly reported what most of the blacks there were saying about it. He may have dwelled too much on that and not enough on condemning what took place therefore the article lacked "balance". However, it wasn't McKinley saying these things, it was the residents saying it. What has really happened is that a door to the mentality of blacks was opened and people didn't like what they saw. Shut the door, quickly, and bring out the responsible commentators to opine on it all. Gee, blacks don't really think that way, do they? Yeah, they do and lots more, but lets just avoid those sticky subjects as they don't fit the desired narratives.
ReplyDeleteWhat's surreal is the local news coverage. After suggesting that there must have been at least a few perpetrators who weren't black, the article went into great detail about the accomplishments of the girl and her siblings all of whom take a least a few honors courses. The girl herself is in the gifted and talented program at her new school.
ReplyDeleteAll of this was revealed without once mentioning the girls ethnicity other than saying her name was Maria. They also divulged evidence of the girl's rebellious attitude through comments on a social networking site without once mentioning her race.
I see now that the reporter might have been making the smart 11 year old out to be the intellectual equal of her rapists and therefore able to consent to having sex with multiple guys on the same night.
Perhaps the headline should've read:
Provocatively dressed Genius 11 year old asking for it by living in small town with large population of penises passing for human and unable to pass up any, absolutely any, opportunity to have sex
Sadly, there are plenty of small Texas towns teeming with such populations who most likely have to use some form of public assistance due to the lack of jobs in the area. The more ambitious move into Houston or Dallas and make life ever so much better in the big cities.
They white-dogged the story.
ReplyDeleteSteve, in America there is a calculus of minority privelege and a very pronounced hierarchy. It's almost like a feudal system in that cosanguinous groups are allotted privelege in the system due to dint of belonging to the said group.not only legal and financial privelege is granted by this hierarchy, but 'moral worthiness' is too.
ReplyDeleteAs you must know white males are at the base of the pyramid.White females come in higher, then you get hispanics and other minorities of all types, but right at the apex, and apparently with a splendidly mediaeval droit-de-seigneur come blacks.
Blacks are exempted from 'peasant' justice - they are only to judged by their own court of nobles, just like the robber barons in Robin Hood.
To the NYT, the ridiculous and silly prank of throwing cotton balls(!) on the ground is an atrocity far, far worse than the gang-rape of an 11 year old hispanic girl.
ReplyDelete"From what I've read it's hardly some open and shut case, there's not really been enough details released to even say it's alleged sex between the purported victim and all of the perps."
ReplyDeleteSorry, Clarence, the whole reason the STATUTORY rape was reported was because the brilliant perpetrators were photographing each other doing it. Another 11 year old showed a pic of it to her and the victim's teacher.
"East Texas isn't exactly the Delta, so you don't get towns that are 75% or even 50% black."
ReplyDeleteYes you do. I don't think it was always this way but somehow in the past decade or so you have these little black majority towns out in the middle of nowhere. Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Beaumont are larger towns that appear substantially black now though haven't always been. The post Katrina settlement of blacks from Louisiana has made this even more so in East Texas.
Of course, Mexicans are those 'wonderful family oriented, hard-working natural Republican voters', who just love to leave the odd pile of human heads on Police HQ's doorstep, just as means of a little timely hint and calling card, not to mention such other jolly little japes as sewing human faces onto footballs.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that their sojourn in the USA softens their manners somewhat, or it could be rather unpleasant.
"how could their young men have been drawn into such an act?"
ReplyDeleteYes, this is classic Leftist use of the passive voice.
"In the game of victim trumpcards, race beats gender every time"
There seems to be a limited exception for abortion but in general I agree that there is a victim hierarchy and that blacks enjoy a more privileged position than white women.
At least Carlos Slim is probably losing money on his investment.

- The article probably wouldn't last long at wackypedia. The admins have a blatant liberal bias there, and anything that doesn't conform to the great leftwing fantasy gets tossed down the memory hole. You add in facts they complain there is no source and take it down. You give a source, they complain it is either wrong or a racist source that cannot be believed or any other number of thought-restricting nonsense and remove it. I cited a peer-reviewed article from a liberal professor at a top University, and they still removed it since it didn't conform nicely to the modern American fantasy. You go to their discussion pages and find nuts pressing to label Beethoven a 'world citizen' instead of a German because he would have preferred it that way.
For some reason I've been feeling more positive about white men growing a spine in the very near future. That is going to be fun to watch and be a part of. Hell hath no fury...

Thx.
Speaking of the NY Times and its various campaigns to change the way America operates, Could this be another NY Times campaign to change the way the legal system operates in order to give cover to certain types?
ReplyDeleteI can see it now: Man accused of treason acquitted because his act was for the greater good of all mankind (and Israel).
This is going to blow that community up. Hispanics aren't as placid as whites.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine the NYT coverage if one of the 11-year-old's family members enacts revenge on one of the Texas 18's family members.
When does Jared Taylor's new book on "diversity" come out again?
Whoever wrote the original story should be flat out fired, along with a few editors. That is, if the NYT had any integrity left. Bay area newspapers pulled a similar thing with the white girl who got gang raped Fall 2009 at a Richmond High prom -- she had been drinking, so she deserved being sodomized with a beer bottle and having 30 Mexican classmates pull a train on her. The Contra Costa Times bemoaned the sad fate of the arrested perps, quoting at some length a female relative of the mestizo animal who initiated the attack, describing him as a sensitive and quiet boy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he was a regular Wally Cleaver.
Pilsen is a Mexican community in Chicago. I was told that Black people are not permitted in the community at night by a Chicago police officer.
ReplyDeletePOilsen is a large Mexican community in Chicago. A police officer told me blacks will be killed if they enter Pilsen after dark.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been a shock if "the community" had not reacted as it did.
ReplyDelete"We'll see if Mexican men are made of sterner stuff than current day white Americans and take revenge..."
ReplyDeleteIf only it were that easy. White Americans who go up against NAMs are also taking on the police, the courts, etc.--the whole apparatus of government: local, state and federal.
Off-hand, I can't think of any white men I know who are afraid of black people. But they are very leery of being tossed in prison if they get into any kind of altercation with a black person.
It's like a kid being bullied not fighting back because the bully has the unfair advantage of having the backing of the adults in their world. If the bullied kid loses a fight with the bully, he has no recourse from the adults. If he wins, he gets in trouble with them. Walking away from a fight in those circumstances isn't cowardly.
Too bad Barry and Michelle won't ever speak out against that kind of bullying.
"I think it will initially be horrific, but all those white liberals will very, very quickly manage to get themselves guns and find out how to use them (some of them already have them)."
ReplyDeleteIn the event, I wouldn't give a white liberal access to any of my guns or ammo. Let them stew in their own juices. Besides, they got us into this mess, give them guns and as soon as they got things quieted down, guess who they'd come after? Remember, they're the ones who think it's the fault of white racists when people of color act out.
They're the ones who need to go.
"East Texas isn't exactly the Delta, so you don't get towns that are 75% or even 50% black. ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, maybe you aren't aware of how deeply PC has penetrated even rural areas of America. Nowadays, a small town doesn't have to be majority black to have blacks in positions of power. True, if the number of blacks is in the single digits, they probably won't be represented. Otherwise, they're front and center, saying it loud and saying it proud.
From an ABC News article:
" Cleveland[Texas] is embroiled in a political scandal where three city council members are facing a recall election following complaints of corruption. All three of those city council members are African American."
Gang Rape Sparks Racial Tensions.
According to Wikipedia, the racial makeup of the city was 58.65% White, 27.13% African American...Hispanic or Latino of any race were 20.51% of the population.
The black population of Cleveland is double that of the black population nationally.
"Well, before we all rush as a mob to convict the men involved, we should remember two things..."
ReplyDeleteApparently these guys took videos. Let's put those up on YouTube. We can all watch them, & then not rush to judgement. I'm OK with that if you are.
If 16 white boys raped an 11 year old hispanic girl, the NYT would have spared us no details.
ReplyDeleteOther than details of the victim's dress, sexual precocity, etc.
maybe this is payback for all the times in decades and centuries past when whites can victimize blacks with impunity.
ReplyDeleteye' think that might have something to do with it?
This is the first place I've seen or heard anything of this barbarity.
ReplyDeleteIf the perps were white and the 11 year old girl were black or brown, the coverage of this would be world wide, and it would be 100 times more reported than the Duke rape hoax was.
What sick times we live in. When critical mass (white tax payers no longer being able to support non whites through welfare) is reached, you'd better have plenty of guns and ammo on hand. It's going to be savage.
Beaumont's a city (not a town, and it's only 45% black. Lufkin is 27% black, and Nacogdoches 25%.

I'm glad there is SOME skepticism about this claim. From what I've read it's hardly some open and shut case, there's not really been enough details released to even say it's alleged sex between the purported victim and all of the perps.
ReplyDelete----------
Dude, get bent. The is the most open and shut case you can imagine. Anyone having sex with an 11 year old girl is guilty of rape, the girl cannot give consent. Everyone videotaped and pictured in sex acts with the girl is guilty of rape and going to do hard time. Anyone that just watched and recorded can be nailed for serious crimes too.
If there was any room for doubt, you can be sure the reporter for the NYT would have emphasized it throughout the article.
The Houston Chronicle at least mentions perps race and race of victim.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7466774.html#tab-a-2
However, in an incident in which all 18 perps were black males, and the victim an 11 year old hispanic girl, in other words, nothing whatsoever to do with whites, they had to throw this into their story to makes whites out to be the evil racist ones:
'A bad mood'
Turmoil over the investigation, recall election and racism allegations is making residents anxious. On Thursday, witnesses saw a group of white men with shaved heads in the back of a pickup driving along a Cleveland street shouting, "Kill all the (expletive N-word)."
"There's just a bad mood in Cleveland right now," said County Commissioner Melvin Hunt. "I'd love to see things settle down and get harmonious again."
The story won't have legs enough for someone to get around to naming the perps "The Cleveland 2 Dozen".
ReplyDeleteBut maybe long enough for black Jena 6 lawyer to repeat her "kids can be kids" (told to Dr. Phil's audience).
"“These boys have to live with this the rest of their lives.”
ReplyDeleteThat was the only sentence in a 17 paragraph article that I could VERY LIBERALLY chalk up as "concern for the perpetrators."
-------------
Yeah, good work truth.
Only every liberal pantywaist at the NYT and every person here could identify the main tone of the article as being concerned with the fate of the perpetrators.
But thank god you've come along and set us straight in our thinking.
As every reader here surely knows, blacks commit rape at seven times the rate of whites. So when the race of the rapist isn't mentioned it's wise and appropriate to assume that he is black.
ReplyDeleteI think they call that racial prejudice.
Albertosaurus
"The focus was almost entirely on whether or not the victims were racists, as Thornton claimed."
ReplyDeleteNo, actually it wasn't. Not to the literate.
"Blacks are exempted from 'peasant' justice"
Well of course, that's why there are so many in jail.
"I see now that the reporter might have been making the smart 11 year old out to be the intellectual equal of her rapists and therefore able to consent to having sex with multiple guys on the same night."
That's EXACTLY what the reporter was trying to do, but you saw through his nefarious scheme!
Remember the white kids who had the temerity to beat up a dear Mexican? He tragically & accidentally died. They were tried and cleared. Then along came our drooling AG,Eric "SupaFly" Holder. He put the boys up on federal "civil rights" charges. Double jeopardy? Whass dat? A USA Today story said the white boys attacked the mexican after they "encountered" him. He left out the fact that they "encountered" the mexican while he was in the act of raping a minor female. Mainstream journalists are truly scum. And,speaking of scum, please dont say that excusing the black males' acts violates "feminist values". That is a statement of boundless idiocy!!! If people were treated fairly and honestly...THAT would violate feminist values! (And btw the Dear One was on the radio this morning speaking out on behalf of all the unfairness against well-educated,privileged,uber-entitled upper-middle class white women in society today. I guess the election campaign has begun.)

ReplyDeleteDoubtful. "Edgy" and "prone to gang violence" don't equate to "stern". Some chollos may menace a couple of old black ladies, but by and large brown gangs aren't made up of brave men.
Read William McGowan's "Gray Lady Down" which describes the NYT's 'decline and fall'. He explains how the NYT's obsession w/diversity has completely compromised their reporters' objectivity and rendered them unable to stray from the PC path. His chapter titles sort of lay it out for you: Race, Immigration, Culture Wars, etc.

Shouldn't making excuses of their crimes be chalked up to "concern for the perpetrators":
"They said she dressed older than her age, wearing makeup and fashions more appropriate to a woman in her 20s. She would hang out with teenage boys at a playground, some said."
"“Where was her mother? What was her mother thinking?” said Ms. Harrison, one of a handful of neighbors who would speak on the record. “How can you have an 11-year-old child missing down in the Quarters?”"
"The arrests have left many wondering who will be taken into custody next. Churches have held prayer services for the victim. The students who were arrested have not returned to school, and it is unclear if they ever will. Ms. Gatlin said the girl had been transferred to another district. “It’s devastating, and it’s really tearing our community apart,” she said. “I really wish that this could end in a better light.”"
How about the inaccuracy of the story's premise? The ruined lives of the perps? How so? Even an 18-year old perp, tried as an adult, will be out in 10 years or less, and will enjoy the same street life that he would have lived had he not participated. The narrow conception of living that black males now allow themselves is both part of what made the attack possible, and what keeps any punishment from amounting to a likely "ruination." I guess what the NYT has in mind is that these kids won't be going to college. But that won't matter once the gov't corruption regimes are fully refined.
ReplyDeleteClarence, let me spell out for you what everyone with a 80+ IQ knows already: an 11 year old girl is below the age of consent and having sex with her is illegal and immoral whether she allowed it or not, hth. Tell your friends so they don't caught making a mistake like your co-ethnics in this story.

ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I really doubt that a white Texan Republican with a cowboy hat is going to tolerate people like Quannell X. Of course, maybe Texas is no longer the place I thought it was.
Texas has a population that is now 50 percent NAM and 2/3 of all births are to minorities. Wow. Let's count the days to when this state flips Democrat.
Very likely, the Mexican citizens are going to appeal to the Zetas or Gulf Cartel to "solve" the problem for them. A perfect vacuum inviting other power sources.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is likely to occur on a widespread scale when America suffers a shock. An Earthquake, flood, something bad, that causes welfare checks and other assistance to cease, is likely to provoke various lootings and counter-measures by various vigilante groups. It always has before.

ReplyDeletePC penetrated Dallas years ago and has doubtless wafted eastward by now. Maybe you don't know that the Dallas Morning News picked the illegal immigrant for Texan of the Year for 2007.
2007 DMN Texan of the Year: The Illegal Immigrant
I have friends in Dallas, all in white collar jobs. They aren't stridently political but they've definitely drunk the Kool-Aid. I love 'em to death but they've got blinders on. My bright and successful friend told me recently that in her group at work, she was embarrassed to be the only one who spoke just one language. All her coworkers were foreign-born and spoke two or more languages. I asked her why she should be embarrassed to be the only born in the country to which all the others wanted to immigrate. They had to learn English and come here to enjoy the kind of success not available to them in their home countries. Why should that embarrass her? She sheepishly told me she'd never thought of it that way.

Not an excuse, investigative journalism. Journalism is who, what, when, where, why. This qualifies as "why" which it taken from the point of view of the pricnipals, not the journalist.

You did not claim, nor did I imply, that the reporter showed undo concern for the perpetrators. Only that undo concern was expressed by townspeople - black townspeople - who were interviewed for the story.
As for the last paragraph, it was a lot of woe-is-us handwringing of the kind that is usually offered up as implied exculpation of heinous acts. But I'm not buying it as even handed - it cuts the perps too much slack.

I suspect much of the difference in numbers of blacks and whites jailed (like the differences in credit scores, graduation rates, obesity, etc.) has to do with the difference between blacks and whites re impulse control.
"Only that undo concern was expressed by townspeople - black townspeople - who were interviewed for the story."
ReplyDeleteI don't know what your background is, Anon, but I'll tell you a little bit of mine; I've worked in print, radio, and television journalism, have a J degree, and even worked on a Spanish language newscast for 2 years (I speak the language well enough to conduct interviews.)
Journalists are paid to tell the story of what happened, utilizing the 5 "w"'s in pyramid form (most important info at the top, leading to supporting info at the bottom) with the views of corroborators adding color to the story.
Any journalist hired by the world's premiere newspaper is very good. You may not like him, may think he's too liberal, or whatever, but that fact is that his writing skills are excellent.
What probably happened here is that they spent a non-Spanish speaking journalist to cover a story that pitted English speakers vs. those that do not.
He spoke to a few black people, and attempted to speak to a few Mexicans, who did not want to answer him because:
A) They don't speak English
B) They can get by in English, but are barely literate and fear deportation
C) They are Mexican-Americans who, believe me, feel very little kinship with Mexican nationals.
As I said, I am not talking out my ass, I've covered the fires, the robberies, etc. in South Albuquerque, and it is difficult as a "foreigner" to get a Mexican to talk, even speaking the language. It's a somewhat insular culture to begin with.
Take a word of advice from me, life will magically improve for many of you if you start thinking, and stop pretending everyone is against you ALL OF THE TIME.
First, let me say there is no excuse for what happened. And all those guys involved should be hanged, and not necessarily by their necks.
ReplyDeleteStill, there is something to the girl being 'slutty'--or her 'sluttiness' contributing to the problem. In this particular case, I don't know what happened but I know from personal experience that underaged sluttiness is a huge problem, more than ever.
Though I reside in a mostly white middle class community, I spent much of my youth in mixed-race urban places and 'white trash' small towns. When I was a child in the 70s, there was a clearer sense of what was right and wrong, what was for adults, what was for children. Sure,, most of us kids were potty-mouths, but we still knew the difference between mainstream culture and porn. There was no nudity on TV, no foul language. I don't recall anyone having cable in the 70s and most people began to buy vcrs in the 80s. Even then, porn was only for adults. And there was no internet. So, kids were protected more and didn't grow up too fast. Also, there was more of a racial division. Even in liberal cities, it was generally a no-no for white girls to go with blacks. It wasn't officially banned in any blatant way, but it was something that was understood. Blacks had black culture, whites had white culture. And when disco breached this, there was Disco Demolition, very popular among most of my friends. Even so, in the 70s, I remember a 11 yr old Swedish-American girl from a broken family who was 'slutty' and just asking for trouble(though asking for trouble doesn't isn't the same as deserving of trouble). She let black boys 'do things' to her to get attention. She also hung around an older Mexican man whose daughter was a friend of hers. Even back them, most of us kids thought it was very creepy. Even so, she wasn't typical even among the white trashers.
Zoom into the late 90s. I have still have contacts with 'white trash' types in mixed lower-income communities. One white guy was pretty low-IQ. Wonderfully nice guy but near-retarded with epileptic wife. Poor and dumb, no means to move out of a blackening neighborhood. He died of lung cancer in the 2000s in his 40s, and left behind 3 sons and one daughter. The girl was cute and seemed like a nice girl(in my presence anyway), but her dad told me a sick story. Though only 12 back in the late 90s, she turned into a super-slut among some guys in the neighborhood. With dumb parents, TV and pop music as culture, desperate to be liked, and easily flattered by mostly black kids(mostly thugs)at school and the neighborhood, and gangbangers ruling the streets(and having all the respect), her view of the world obviously became very twisted at a young impressionable age. It's like how the kid in GOODFELLAS sees the wise guys from his bedroom window and wants to be like them. Well, this girl just saw trash all around and that's all she knew and wanted. I talked to some of the neighbors when I visited the town, and I heard her aspiration at 12 was to be prostitute. Now, you know what kind of places porn stars come from. Her father was a nice guy but dumb and ineffective. Cowardly too, mostly. Her uncle did time because he drew lewd pictures of her and sent it to her as a come-on. I guess she had enough sense to tell her father about it; the uncle lived in the family, btw; he did a yr in jail and then came back to live in the same house! But she didn't have enough sense not to hang around black thugs in the neighborhood. They made her drink, and she must have had sex with a bunch of them. One of them got her pregnant(for which she got an abortion). Her father was very upset but what could he do? He was poor, dumb, and afraid of blacks in the neighborhood. He just called the cops. One guy went to jail, but I heard it wasn't 'rape-rape' as it was consensual. But it was sex with a minor, a crime.
ReplyDeleteI bumped into the creep's 'wife' or live-in girlfriend(or whatever) at a nearby store--Puerto Rican woman--, and she made excuses for her man(who was locked up in jail). She blamed the girl for being 'slutty' and having got her man in trouble. Sounds familar?
Our culture is utterly debased. Kids now have access to porn, and much of pop music is sound-porn. Family breakdown is near total in many communities, even among whites, and kids grow up like shit. TV is filled with filth like Simpsons and Family Guy and much worse. So, the idea of 11 yr girl acting slutty may sound far-fetched, but it's all too real and all too common. Not that I think a slutty female--of any age--deserves to be raped, but many females, at a very young age, are being taught to send wrong signals to very dangerous men, who also have no values or sense. What else do you expect when kids grow up to the music and videos of Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Kanye West?
"That's a media myth that largely never happened."
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that this idea is overplayed in the media and by some HBD types who get off at the thought of blacks running from those plucky cholos, i.e. the "true" badass NAMs.
In reality blacks began leaving inner South LA en masse after the riots in '92. It was this exodus that gave hispanics their first major footholds in historically black neighborhoods in South LA. All the racialized gang violence didn't really heat up in the streets (though it had long been going on in the prisons) until almost a decade later. By that time hispanics already had large majorities in many formerly black areas. Still, these interracial conflicts paled in comparison to all the black-on-black gang violence going on. That was the violence that blacks were really fleeing, for the most part. This is why you've seen blacks leaving South LA for "greener" pastures in gang-infested, hispanic-dominated neighborhoods places like Hawaiian Gardens and Harbor Gateway.
However, it is true that blacks have been "cleansed" from some areas of metro LA through the concerted efforts of hispanic gangs. But, for the most part, this has happened in neighborhoods where blacks never had a large presence to begin with.
TV is filled with filth like Simpsons and Family Guy and much worse.

You may speak Spanish well enough to conduct interviews but it looks as though you could brush up a bit on your reading skills in English.
Mr Anon didn't say the reporter should have interviewed some Hispanics for a more balanced article. He was criticizing the black townspeople for their refusal to break ranks even when some of their brethren were accused of the serious crime of gang rape. And he was criticizing the reporter for his failure to include some other perspective less sympathetic to the suspects, whether the source was black, white or Hispanic. You should have got that from what he went on to say:
"As for the last paragraph, it was a lot of woe-is-us handwringing of the kind that is usually offered up as implied exculpation of heinous acts. But I'm not buying it as even handed - it cuts the perps too much slack."
He doesn't mention race, just the lack of any other points of view. I infer he meant that surely someone could have been found who was unsympathetic, if not downright hostile, toward a bunch of rape suspects, whatever the color of those involved.
Nice try, though. And nice about the J degree. I used to live near the J school in Columbia, MO and would read and edit some of the students' papers, just for fun.
This is an outlier case, doesn't deserve much attention (unlike, for example, street harassment).

ReplyDeleteLet me get this straight. Mexicans and Muslims routinely marry 11 yr olds, and black routinely rape them.
ReplyDeleteRunning a train is something of a sick tradition there, and is tolerated more than outsiders realized. Sick, yeah...and so it the tolerance of it. If the victim were non-white and the perps were white, the "why" would be their racist sense of entitlement. End of story.
As Steve said, the provocative clothing would normally not be mentioned without the racial angle. If it were, people would jump all over it -- and rightly so where a stranger is involved. But, boy, if the victim were an 11-year-old black girl and the perps white and the story somehow painted her as a precocious slut, the ensuing scandal would be absolutely spectacular. They would be studying it in J-school for years to come.
Stopping digging, Truth. You're not convincing anyone by pretending that the entire Duke saga never happened.
Brilliant essay on one of the last black gang-rape atrocities called "We are 1.5 steps from Rwanda".
ReplyDeleteIt is a commentary on the black gang-rape of a Haitian woman four years ago, in which ten young black men gang-raped the woman and then forced her to have sex with her 12 year old son, then squished them with cleaning fluid to light them on fire, but fortunately couldn't find matches.
It is called The Dunbar Village Horror.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that you're a very smart, very accomplished African-American, you love your people, and you don't like to see them unfairly defamed.
So you hang around iSteve, sniping (sometimes pretty cleverly) at some of the more egregious effusions of some of the dimmer bulbs around here.
But why bother piling on against such thoroughly powerless folks? What is it that keeps drawing you back here?
Might it be that you see important elements of...ummm..."truth"...in Sailer's worldview?
The main concern in that community right now is probably, "Who's the snitch?"
ReplyDeleteI read the NYT story on Friday, via a link from Google News. It's the first I had heard of the rapes, and I read the story trying to see if there was a racial angle. The names of the people defending the perps, the quotes, the failure to mention the names of the accused, or the New Black Panthers involvement - perhaps I missed something, but the entire story seemed to have deliberately scrubbed any information that might cause someone to suspect that the perps were black. The only name that struck me as a possible giveaway to the victim's race was the name of the her mother, Maria.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind that the author mentioned the grown-up ways of the 11-year-old. This is how trashy people raise their children, and while it doesn't mean she deserved it, it certainly made her vulnerable.
"Maybe Hollywood will make a movie based on this story. It will star 18 white men and a 11 yr black girl."
ReplyDeleteThey already made a book, and a movie. It was called "A Time to Kill" by John Grisham. Because white guys are always raping and nearly killing young black girls.
Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteThe black males I was referring to aren't the schizophrenics, of which there are plenty, but organized groups that at least once a week set up shop outside of busy metro stations during rush hour such as Gallery Place, complete with loudspeakers, and proceed to schreech about whites. They block sidewalks and try intimidate as many working people as they can. Go for it, I say. Tell everyone exactly what you think of whites.
The "yoofs" sure are fun to be around, aren't they? Foul mouths, aggressive, etc.
"As you must know white males are at the base of the pyramid.White females come in higher, then you get hispanics and other minorities of all types, but right at the apex, and apparently with a splendidly mediaeval droit-de-seigneur come blacks."

>"how could their young men have been drawn into such an act?"<
ReplyDeleteDrawn into it.
In other words, it's the victim's fault.
She enticed these upstanding young men to rape her.
The darker you are, the less blame can be assigned to you.
Very likely, the Mexican citizens are going to appeal to the Zetas or Gulf Cartel to "solve" the problem for them.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a good prediction.
"The black males I was referring to aren't the schizophrenics, of which there are plenty, but organized groups that at least once a week set up shop outside of busy metro stations during rush hour such as Gallery Place, complete with loudspeakers, and proceed to schreech about whites. They block sidewalks and try intimidate as many working people as they can. Go for it, I say. Tell everyone exactly what you think of whites."
ReplyDeletehmm. Will have to check that out. What day usually?
"Not an excuse, investigative journalism. Journalism is who, what, when, where, why. This qualifies as "why" which it taken from the point of view of the pricnipals,"
ReplyDeleteTruth, so how is it a "why" again? If someone's house is robbed, or other crime involving strangers, we need to know "why"? "According to neighbors they often walked in and out of the house in expensive clothing and jewelry blah blah"
This is never a why. Gee how do men control themselves in strip clubs I've always wondered? All those women in skimpy outfits shaking it provocatively, and they just sit around drinking most of the time! And why can't they just jerk off if necessary if a girl "teases them"? Won't that take care of their "blue balls" or whatever?
"Zoom into the late 90s. I have still have contacts with 'white trash' types in mixed lower-income communities."
Do we need to refer to humans as "trash"? And for a site that supposedly stands up for whites, why are whites specifically referred to as trash?
"Maybe Hollywood will make a movie based on this story. It will star 18 white men and a 11 yr black girl."
Good one.
Reply to Vinteuil:
ReplyDeleteExcellent points. I too have often wondered why "TRUTH" is so fixated on this blog-site. Projectionism?
"how did you think white blood got into today's bi-racial black kids?"
ReplyDeletePresumably through consensual sex between the (usually male) black parent and the (usually female) white parent.
If you're referring to the 15-20% admixture of white DNA in blacks, introduced during slavery, I would venture that the sex between the two groups was often more consensual than you might imagine. Women tend to like men who have power and, yes, men tend to like easy sexual access to a woman.
The point is, though, that white men raping (or "raping") black women is something that hasn't been happening much for over a century.
"Do we need to refer to humans as 'trash'? And for a site that supposedly stands up for whites, why are whites specifically referred to as trash?"
ReplyDeleteYes, we do - because pointing out people who exhibit such behaviors is very useful in instructing our own what kind of behaviors to avoid.
@Vinteuil:
ReplyDeleteI never considered my self "accomplished" but I guess it's all relative, thank you.
I have wondered many times why I check and comment on this site every day. I guess part of it is habit and part of it is that I feel I am doing a service. Maybe one person feels that it is a service, maybe more, but If someone were printing a bunch of ill-conceived simple minded lies on my site, I would want a de-facto administrator to step up.
All and all it is probably just distraction that is keeping me from more important things, but I guess that will become clear when the time is right.
BTW, I do, and always have given SOME creedence to HBD. I believe that there are general, ingrained differences between blacks, white and Asians, and even between whites from different sections of Europe. However I think that pales in comparison to nurture for the way one's life turns out.
ReplyDeletePS: You should like the next one:
"I too have often wondered why "TRUTH" is so fixated on this blog-site. Projectionism?"
"Projectionism" Hey that's double nominalization!

Vinteuil,
ReplyDeleteTruth has always been very open. You just weren't paying attention. Just from reading his comments over the years, I know his occupation, age (roughly), city of residence, number of offspring(s) and what they're doing, close relative in that city, who he voted for in 2008, and where he went to community college (after university).
Pretty cool guy, actually. A shame he's defending the indefensible here.
For his part, Truth is fairly good at remembering what few personal details that the rest of us let on. He's probably the only one around here who remembers my ethnicity (though that can be misleading).
And why he keeps coming back? He likes us and our conversations, obviously. (Yes, he did say that.)
Truth is a lot more interesting of a commenter than most of the people on this site with their predictable obsessions. He at least acts amused rather than perpetually aggrieved like a lot of the "white man can't catch a break" guys and "hot chicks like bad boys, not pasty nerds like me" whiners.
ReplyDeleteTruth be told, this site has a lot of non-conservative readers. Some of us find HBD interesting and a lot of Steve's writing provocative, even if we don't accept many of the conclusions he comes to. You can accept that different ethnic groups have some broad traits and tendencies without being a raging bigot.
"Maybe Hollywood will make a movie based on this story. It will star 18 white men and a 11 yr black girl."
ReplyDeleteHollywood's already done this: Causalties of War, 1989, Sean Penn & Michael J. Fox. I haven't seen it, but supposedly it's based on a real incident, US soldiers in VietNam kidnapping & raping a local woman. In real life the soldiers were black, but surprise surprise -- they all got bleached for the movie. The real story would offend people, ya know...?
"I know, Kylie, that's why there are so many of you in jail per capita, than us. Oh wait a minute something's not right."
ReplyDeleteSo, Trooofie DOES know what "per capita" means.
As many times as he's argued that because there are numerically more Whites on welfare than Blacks, that means that Whites are more likely, per capita, to be on welfare, I really didn't believe he did.
"Maybe Hollywood will make a movie based on this story. It will star 18 white men and a 11 yr black girl."
ReplyDeleteFunny, but in a grim way because of the dire subject, but also because it's too true.
Gilbert Pinfold.
"Truth said...
ReplyDeleteWell, Grasshopper, now that you mention it...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBm8ogwnpG0"
"Truth" still isn't sold on the laws of thermodynamics, which together have behind them a much older and more well founded pedigree than a fly-by-night japanese car company. You can't split hydrogen off of water, and then recombine it and get more energy out of the process than you put in (unless you fuse the hydrogen, in which case you are the Sun), anymore than you can pull yourself up into the air by your own jock-strap.
Two and a half years after that video was made, and that company still hasn't produced a car that just runs on the water you pour into it. And they never will.

I wonder if Steve registered the implied insult. Apparently, his site adminstration is not up "Truth"'s standards. "Truth" could vastly decrease the number of ill-conceived, simple-minded lies to be found here by just not posting anything himself.
"All of them will have the alleged black rapists as targets from day one in the event they are convicted (probably not a sure thing in this Jena-like case.)"
ReplyDeletePretty much all rapists are...
Hi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteTry Friday afternoon/rush hour.
Truth is an affirmative action J-school baby. 90% of his chip-on-the-shoulder attitude is explained right there. For starters, he thinks the harness and crane had nothing to do with his ascent (perhaps he can really fly). Second, he is surrounded by easily intimidated liberal fags, and this just increases his tendency to chimp (behavior-reward association).
ReplyDeleteThird, the noggish ego is sent spiralling out of control by promotion past its natural competence (in this case possibly as a typesetter). Look at him get all worked up about criticism of writers at the NYT! Suspect that he is (or has been) ensconced in all his frictiony moodiness in a fairly large newsroom, from which he derives his sense of self-importance.
Maybe Hollywood will make a movie based on this story. It will star 18 white men and a 11 yr black girl.
ReplyDeleteI just caught the final season of The Wire. I hadn't even known there was a fifth season. The main storyline involved a white Jayson Blair and the mulatto with peerless journalist ethics who exposes him.
Lol. They did at least mention Jayson Blair once, which, while not much, did surprise me. I don't think they mentioned Duranty. :)
Did I say "white Jayson Blair"?
ReplyDeleteSorry, I meant to say, "blond-haired, blue-eyed WASP Jayson Blair." My bad.
And T, you're not helping Journalism's rep any. Just sayin'.
Truth is a lot more interesting of a commenter than most of the people on this site with their predictable obsessions.
ReplyDeleteJust because you are a character, doesn't mean you have character.
Might it be that you see important elements of...ummm..."truth"...in Sailer's worldview?
ReplyDeleteDuh. You've just now noticed the weak tea T's serving? There's a good reason he only nibbles around the edges, mang.
"Hollywood's already done this: Causalties of War, 1989, Sean Penn & Michael J. Fox. ReplyDeleteIs this true? Where did you find out that the perpetrators were black?

ReplyDeleteHere it says Clark was 'tall and blonde'. I don't know about Meserve. But Diaz seems to have been Hispanic.
