Reconquista founding father: Jeb, Arnold, or Mel?

Consider three family names that are somewhat tarnished at present: Bush, Schwarzenegger, and Gibson. Yet, they all have a chance to return to fame and power in the next generation due to the ongoing changes in the electorate. We live in an age in which surnames serve as brand names in politics, and that will likely only increase as the voters become less sophisticated due to demographic trends.

It's widely assumed by the press that the onrushing tsunami of Latino voters that will slam home real soon now will lead to a Hispanic Obama, but that simplistic logic overlooks the widespread lack of charisma found among Mexican-Americans. Just as the first African-American President is of unusual background, so might be the first Mexican-American President.

Thus, there exists the odd but not implausible chance that a glamorous non-Hispanic will father a Latino political dynasty.

As I may have mentioned over the years, the Bush dynasty looks to Jeb Bush's handsome half-Mexican son George P. Bush as the most likely member of the next generation to return the Bush name to the White House in a demographically altered America.

As a commenter suggested, this week's confirmation that former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger really likes chicas suggests a potential competitor for the Bushes in a Hispanicized America. Arnold is rich enough and will soon be single enough to remarry and produce a brood of half-Latino legitimate heirs to someday battle the Bushes.

And then there's the dark horse: Mel Gibson, whose The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto are the most aesthetically impressive responses yet to the Hispanicization of America. Granted, his personal tastes seem to run toward Slavic adventuresses, but he is also rich enough and single enough to find a nice Mexican girl and have a half dozen kids who might challenge the Bush and Schwarzenegger Latino dynasties in a Mexicanized America.

You read it here first.

  1. The Bush Family is done in Republican circles. Finished. The End.

I doubt Schwarzenegger wants to spend the remainder of his life raising any more children. More than likely he'll coast on whatever money and star power he still has to keep getting tail. Perhaps he can take over the Playboy Mansion when Hugh Hefner dies. He'd add cache to the brand name, and I hear the place could use some sprucing up.

As for the one Hispanic child he is known to have, that child is a boy with a Mexican housekeeper mother. He inherited most of his IQ DNA (and his upbringing) from her. What are the odds his IQ is over 100? He'll spend his life and inheritance chasing tail, too. We'll see him on some reality show in 10 years or so. Given the blotted out photos I have seen, he at least inheirted much of his father's looks, including his hair and his shoulders.

And Mel Gibson's children? No chance in politics whatsoever, and we all know why. It all has to do with a certain statement, made in a certain drunken state, to a certain policeman just a few years ago.

I think PASSION appealed most to white Evangelicals.
And though the APOCALYPTO dwells on a tribe of indigenous primitives, I thought its hidden message was 'INDIANS WERE BLOODIER THAN THE WHITES AND COMMMITTED MANY HOLOCAUSTS LONG BEFORE WHITE PEOPLE EVER DID'. It undermines the leftist and/or indigenous narrative that "native Americans lived in peace and harmony BUT THEN white man came and brought disease, genocide, slavery, etc." APOCALYPTO says all those evils existed (and much more horribly) PRIOR to the arrival of the white man(who at least brought the comforting myth of Christianity).

It would be like making a movie set in Africa where a black guy spends the whole time running from vicious and cruel black slavers/tribes with nary a white guy in sight.

In APOCALYPTO, the good guys are Indians but so are its Jungle Nazis.

  6. Hmmm...

Completely agree with you about Mel's movies, but he has no self-control and many of his children seem to be of the same kind.
He could marry a Mexican woman as I think his experiences with his ex-girlfriend burned him so badly, that he may suffer PTSD if he so much as glances at a Russian (she was nothing at all like poor, long-suffering Robyn).
But then we're back to the same problem: Mexicans have problems with alcoholism, too. Wouldn't bode well for his hypothetical progeny. Of course, that didn't stop Ted Kennedy.

I just don't see it happening with Jeb's line.

And Maria may stay with Arnold.

  7. Mexicans don't seem to catch fire in American, especially Mestizos. The more European type of Hispanic does much better.

Will we have the growth of a stronger class system in the US based on race? I have a friend from Mexico - he is half German and half Mexican - and he looks about 90% European with maybe a smidge of Mestizo. He has talked pretty openly about "the lower classes" in Mexico and has no desire to be associated with them.

    He married a blonde.

  9. How did Passion and Apocalypto do with hispanic audiences, do we know? I could see the former hitting big not as sure about the latter. You've written some interesting stuff about the growing hispanic market's influence on the kind of movies we're getting and will presumably continue to get. It would be great for someone to push further in the field of "has mass appeal to hispanics yet isn't lousy."

And it would be funny for Gibson to keep his career going on the support of the Left's newly elected people.

In a "Hispanicized America" Carrot-top could be elected senator and Carol Doda appointed secretary of the treasury. The best way to visualize how dumb our society is going to become is to actually visit Mexico.

By the way, speaking of visualizing things, now that Isabel Castillo's image has been plastered on VDare's home page, can somebody please digitally alter it so she looks 100 lbs heavier -- which she will be in 6 years after the first of many spawn by multiple inseminators.

  15. "We live in an age in which surnames serve as brand names in politics."

Worldwide this is now less true than it was at almost any other time in recorded history. The Carolingians, the Capetians, the Bourbons, the Hapsburgs, the Hohenzollerns, etc. - THOSE were brand names in politics.

Since by its nature liberalism isn't sustainable, the world will eventually have to return to dynastic ways of running things. In living memory Syria, North Korea and Azerbaijan have gone back to virtual monarchy. There have been unsuccessful attempts to do that in India, Iraq, Egypt and many other countries. Eventually someone will probably succeed in every one of those. We'll soon see if Qaddafy succeeds in his.

The middle of the 20th century may prove to be the least dynastic period in the entirety of recorded history, no matter how long recorded history continues after this.

OT, but what about a certain statement, made in utter seriousness, on national TV, by the president yesterday? Is that going to cost him Jewish support?

To quote the Jerusalem Post after his election, "Obama would presumably seek to avoid alienating his Jewish constituency, 80 percent of whom voted for him and also contributed more than 50% of Democrat campaign funding."

Did he alienate them yesterday, or is he still The One? I assume he calculated the ramifications before he gave his speech.

  31. I'd take issue with two things. First that popular Anglo culture is being Mexicanized. Steve himself concedes that there is almost no enthusiasm for anything Mexican in Anglo popular music, film, literature, TV etc. Moreover, Spanish language culture is so ubiquitous that two parallel and non-intersecting cultures exist. That of El Cucuy and Sabado Gigante, and NPR and Nurse Jackie. The two by definition cannot intersect.

Secondly, the dynasties that will be founded will be founded BY Mexican guys FOR Mexican guys. Steve makes the mistake of thinking that "Mexicans are lazy" when the Mexican-American political class around him and me are brazen with their sheer ambition.

  32. Who are the up and comers? Why Tony Villaraigosa, who has so much power he got a wrist slap and nothing else over his comps scandal! Fabian Nunez is not going away (despite his son's murder conviction and Arnold Pardon). John Perez, Speaker of the California State Senate, is another big possible Dynasty founder.

What sort of dynasty are we looking at? Basically one of a metro area, or of the rapidly Mexicanizing Southwest (CA, AZ, TX, NV, CO, UT, and of course NM). Dynasties will be strong there, but weak outside precisely BECAUSE of racial politics.

Applying the Bush/Kennedy/Clinton models to the hyper-divisions along race that are already in play is well, applying the radically different past to the rapidly changing future.

Is this trip really necessary? I look at the illegals in our area and they remind of me nothing so much as the pinheads in Freaks. (I'm not trying to be funny or unkind, I'm dead serious.)

They have also committed serious crimes (e.g., rape, murder) all out of proportion to their percentage of our local population.

I just don't get the gleefulness here.

  34. Can anyone imagine a Hispanic dynasty getting elected in say, Seattle, or Portland, or Ohio, or Alabama, or Tennessee? Nope me neither. Nor can I imagine a governor after Jerry Brown who will be White, either. [Quite likely Tony Villaraigosa or Perez.]

But all those White folks chased out of California will not be wanting to vote Mexican. You didn't see many votes among the exiled Orangemen pushed out of the South for Sinn Fein.

I mentioned in a previous post that Arhnold may be more popular than ever among hispanics now.

Having lived in Mexico a few times, I can tell you a Hollywood action hero actor like Arhnold is more popular than masked luchadores, adults playing children in skit comedy and Sabado Gigante combined. He's certainly much more popular than the current crop of Senator Carrot Tops and Sec Treasury Carol Dodas in Mexico now.

Now that he's also a confirmed hot latina chubby chaser and dropped an ethnic anchor baby, I think many latinos will return the love.

Jeb stands no chance. He's never been in movies anyone has seen and most Mexicans aren't interested in dry purporetedly rational anglo politics. Mel could add some color, but his stuff is probably too high brow for the mass of Mexican immigrants compared to Predator, Twins and Kindergarden Cop.

Take the unholy alliance between limousine liberal Democrats, living in their gated communities sending their kids to private schools, and big business Republicans who want open borders for cheap labor. Cross breed those folks and then inbreed them for a few generations and you get something like the Latin American elites.

If you're not Mexican, not a mestizo, not a Latin American elite type, and you care about traditional American culture and society, they are a threat.

In "Total Recall", the Schwarzenegger character chooses a chica as his fantasy female for his fake Martian vacation, then later shoots his blonde wife in the head and shacks up with the Martian chica at the end of the movie.

I'm not sure what Arnie's Austrian SS-captain father would have thought of all this. I suspect he wouldn't have minded.

  45. Simon in London5/21/11, 2:06 AM

Re Protestant Orangemen and the Irish Free State - the situation is quite analogous to California. The Irish Catholics did not engage in ethnic cleansing of Protestants, since the dominant political ideology was and is "we're all Irish together against the English". BUT the Protestants did not want to live in an officially Catholic State with strong political influence by the Roman Catholic Church and a hostile judiciary, so most left, the Protestant population of the South fell rapidly from 10% to around 2%. Some Protestants did stay, and it's not uncommon to find Protestants in the Gardai, the Irish police force.

During the Troubles, Britain/Ulster had good relations with the Gardai across the border who often cooperated with us vs the IRA, whereas the Irish judiciary was pro-IRA and protected them from extradition.

Threat to the elite, maybe not, threat to the people who used to be 90% of the population - self-evidently.

Also people like Chavez *are* strting to take over the Latin American states. It did take a while but that may have been partly due to American help as the anti-white political groups were liable to be commie as well. As America gets weaker i'd imagine the white elites in the northern latin states will go under too.

  51. Mexicans in general are docile and unassuming people. Easy to get along with, but sort of low class in a way. Violent random street crime isn't that much of an issue among them, but gangsterism does seem to be. Fortunately, the gangs generally leave you alone if you leave them alone. Mexicans also have very little interest in business or politics, so they won't dethrone whites (Asians and especially Indians might).

There are a lot of predominately Mexican communities in southern California, Arizon, Texas, and New Mexico. Not scary or unpleasant places to live, but very lethargic and low brow. If this country ever becomes majority Hispanic, it'll probably come to represent idiocracy.

Simon, on an unrelated note, how much of the British political/business/cultural elite is Indian? In America, they've done really well.
