Dems setting up Hispanic blank screen to run in 2016

From the Washington Post:
Julian Castro, Latino mayor of San Antonio, to keynote DNC convention
By Nia-Malika Henderson, Tuesday, July 31, 6:01 PM
Eight summers ago, a fresh faced politician took to the podium for a keynote address at the Democratic convention that launched him onto the national stage and a path to the White House.
Among the viewers of then Sen. Barack Obama's national debut was Julian Castro, now mayor of San Antonio, who will follow in Obama’s footsteps as keynote speaker at the Democratic convention this year in Charlotte.
In picking Castro, Democrats are acknowledging the power of the Latino vote in the 2012 race for the White House and the changing demographics across the country. In attempting to fill Obama’s shoes, Castro, 37, is set to raise his national profile and lay the foundation for possible statewide or national ambitions.
“He could be the first Latino President or Vice President and it would be reasonable to suggest that Julian would be well positioned to be the Democratic nominee for Texas Governor, ” said Walter Clark Wilson a professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Back in May 2010, I wrote a VDARE.com article about Castro as the next Obama-like Blank Screen to be touted for President, and pointing out what a joke this all was:
Despite all the national hype about Mayor Castro, he holds a largely meaningless job with few duties. "The daily business of San Antonio is conducted by a professional city manager," Chafets notes. Indeed, San Antonio's city manager is paid $275,000 annually, while the mayor earns about $3,000. Not surprisingly, only 9.83 percent of San Antonio's registered voters bothered to vote in the Mayoral contest last year.

  1. Curious that the governor of Texas makes $150,000 and the city manager of San Antonio makes $275,000.

  2. I am sure that he is a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon who will get America back on the path to greatness and will help all those illegal immigrants to realize their potential as the saviors of America.

  3. This is when you understand that the powers-that-be are only looking for a puppet. I suspect that's what they got in Obama as well.

  5. Is he gay and illegal? That would be a trifecta.

  6. This shows how dumbed the Republican Party is on the Latino vote, unless Houston has a riot like Anaheim Republicans will not have commonsense. In the Anahiem protest the Mexican movement was involved and a Communists group with Red Flag, Occupy and Answer La.org, far Left groups which consider the city council of Anaheim and Mayor White Fascists pigs.

  8. I saw a puff piece on Los Angeles Mayor Anthony Villagarosa on the Yahoo, asking if he might become the the first El Presidente. What will all those White liberals do when they get shut out of the civil service?

  9. A bit OT but close enough and good for laughs. Reuters headline today:

"Courts mull whether illegal immigrants can be licensed to practice law"

The state Supreme Court is mulling the case of 35-year-old Sergio Garcia, who has already found strong support both from California's attorney general and the state bar association. The court has requested guidance from the U.S. Justice Department on the matter that could come as early as Wednesday.

    True story!

  10. National leaders are increasingly becoming mere actors given the part because they suit the role. Obama in the US and Blair and Cameron in the UK fit that pattern and Bush and Romney mostly fit and talk of Rubio points the same way. Although i think the Republicans should have got the guy who played Caesar in the HBO series Rome. He'd act the part really well.

More interestingly it's a further sign that the Dems are going to throw black people under the bus as they need them less. Obama will be the last Black prez imo.

  11. My theory is that Bill Clinton may have been the last Anglo white male to be a viable democrat president candidate. Nowadays, being a white American male is a real liability for democrat candidates.

It's something I don't think the dems were banking on (they thought they'd always be in control of their brown charges), but it looks to be headed in that direction at the national level. The window for a white female dem president will probably close in 8-12 years.

Blue/homosexual cities will probably still have plenty of white democrats for some time, but they're losing their clout in the rest of the country, and even in liberal states.

  12. Politicians occupy positions, they don't have jobs. They have staffs to do the actual work. So things like qualifications and experience are largely moot. Please refer to my 2009 comment for further elucidation.

    Overnight Drudge, above the fold:

POLL: Romney jumps to 20-point advantage among white voters...

Unfortunately, Rasmussen doesn't show the internals to non-subscribers.

  14. That's OK. The Repubs will run a Rubio/George P. Bush ticket in 2016. It will be the year of the Hispanics.

Romney may be the last Anglo male most of ever see run for President.

  15. Hang on, wouldn't Romney be the "first Latino president or vice-president" on account of his Mexican-born dad? Perhaps the MSM doesn't want to 'go there' for some reason. Perhaps if being born in Mexico doesn't make you 'Mexican' then being born in the US... no! no! make it stop!

The US of Meso-America will be a grim place for unattached white women over age 35.

  20. Steve wrote a great article or post about white men leaving the Democratic party due to commonsense pragmatism and what that portends. He needs to dust it off.

Unfortunately, the only white men left over there, besides a tiny few blue-collars, are queers and perverts. Even more perverted than the ones that already been streaming over to this side.

Beowulf, I remember back in 2001, when Rod Paige, then the head of the Houston school district, became W's Secretary of Education. To do so, he took a $75,000 pay cut.

Fun* fact: the Houston school district's former headquarters was nicknamed the "Taj Mahal." It was bulldozed a few years ago and is now the site of a Costco.

(*"Fun" unless you pay Houston property taxes)

  22. Well, at least he is not widely believed to be as corrupt as all hell.

  23. Obama could write a fictional autobiography at a high school graduate reading level. I doubt Julian Castro's literary exertions rise much above the occasional misspelled internet singles ad. If he can't define himself, who will?

  24. A key difference is that Illinois is a blue state where Obama easily won the 2004 Senate election, while Texas is still pretty red, and Castro would likely lose a statewide race in Texas to a Republican. Unless he can win a statewide race in Texas for Senator or Governor, he is not a plausible Democratic nominee for President.

This Julian Castro, has anyone noticed he has gayface? His wife is pretty though.

  26. Well, some of the gays that are in favor of being taxed for hispanic youths might formed a new kind of libertarism that's not so open borders and leave the Dems maybe in 15 years.

  29. What happened here? The comments used to be interesting and thought provoking, refreshing in their iconoclasm. But now every one is a rant by a double-digit IQ paleocon loser who is crying himself to sleep all night about all the browns coming to take our jobs. Seriously - last white president? 43 out of 44 kind of strongly suggests that sort of hysteria is premature, if not wholly delusional.

While we can and should challenge open borders as dysgenic, one shouldn't ignore the personal benefits. The hispanization of Southern California has made professional life immeasurably easier due to the fact that I'm competing largely with people of lower intellectual capital. In the land of the siesta, the man with only half a protestant work ethic can succeed quite easily.

  31. "Seriously - last white president?" - The last democrat-white-male president, go back and reread all those comments, you obviously missed quite a bit.

  32. Yes, Hispanicization is so great. If you're Colin Powell. For everyone else, supporting a massive amount of Hispanics who have kids at 16 and need permanent welfare support while pumping out gang after gang and creating in the US the same Narco trafficante stuff found in Mexico -- is not so great. So bad that it ethnically cleansed average Whites out of California a decade ago.

But for the unattached post 35 White woman, life will be pretty good. Most women would trade five minutes of Alpha for ten years of Beta. Or more. See Kristin Stewart, exhibit A. They get the violence and dysfunction they crave, no more "boring" stuff (which they loathe) and all the anti-White guy stuff which they lap up like crazy.

Its why young White women with money (or those not so young) go Eat Pray Love in the Third World, not on Lake Genevna or say, Lake Coumo (hanging with George Clooney) or some Chateau in France. And what is more convenient than bringing the Third World ... here?

Yes Bush may have been the last White President if things break Obama's way as VDARE is currently suggesting, given the Demographic dominance, non-Hispanic Whites only 65%, a good many young White women in particular wedded to anti-White ideology (women are far more herd creatures than men for better or worse), leading to Obama eking out a victory with many illegals voting three times for him. Chicago values, after all.

Yeah Whites may break for Romney by over 20%, but that's only 65% of the population or say, given a 60-40 Romney/Obama White split, .6X.65=39% of the vote. Like Steve said, Demography has consequences. We may now be at post-White America, we already are for California.

You obviously don't understand how ethnic nepotism works when it becomes *completely* dominant e.g. in *all* the crappiest parts of the world.

    .
"For obvious reasons, neither hispanics nor Asians are going to feel much white guilt."

Similarly not for native Americans either.
