From E Online:
Just days after his name appeared in suspected killer Christopher Dorner's manifesto, Charlie Sheen is reaching out to the ex-cop.
In a short video, the Anger Management star urged Dorner to contact him, saying, "You mentioned me in your manifesto, so thank you for your kind words. I am urging you to call me."
Reminds me of a couple of years ago.
Maybe the LAPD should rehire this guy.
ReplyDeleteHe's apparently more competent than the entire department put together.
I laughed at an imagined nexus between First Blood and Charlie Sheen being here to help. Just think of the Sheenius keeping his brand alive while riffing on Colonel Trautman's offer to help bring Rambo in to the authorities.
ReplyDeleteTrautman: It's good to hear your voice Johnny, it's been a long time. Look John, you've done some damage here, they don't want anymore trouble. That's why I've come. I want to come in there and fly you the hell out. Just you and me. We'll work this thing out together. Is that fair enough?
ReplyDeleteWow. Charlie Sheen joined by Christopher Dorner. What COULDN'T go wrong!
Charlie knows when someone else is also WINNING.
ReplyDeleteHe's onto something, though. Dorner would probably surrender to a posse of celebrities.
"I figure there's a car chase down Ventura and they're filming it for the TV news, but the more I watch the more I realize they are a lot farther south, more like over Mulholland Drive"
ReplyDeleteI've never been to LA, so the only thing I associate those street names with is the song Free Falling by Tom Petty. I've always loved that song.
"Free Falling by Tom Petty"
ReplyDeleteYup, that's the ultimate Valley Dude song.
A whole lot of hit songs have been written in the San Fernando Valley, but that and Zappa's "Valley Girl" are the Valleyest songs.
Steve,
ReplyDeleteOff-Topic - Marriage data for 2012; looks like marriage is going out of style for everyone except the solidly middle and upper class:

Calling that rambling, stream-of-consciousness comic book full of megalomania a "manifesto" is really being indulgent.
ReplyDeleteThe UK-Daily Mail reports our patriot got married in 2007 and that it lasted all of one month. Draw your own conclusions from that one. Another ex-girlfriend described him as "twisted" and "super paranoid". Here's a guy who hunts down and murders a young woman and her boyfriend, neither of whom have ever done anything to him or even knew who he was. He also ambushes some some cops, killing one. Every paranoid schizo has tales of persecution. That this sickening, dangerous person has gotten some sympathetic responses based on his ravings is troubling in itself. Robin Hood he's not.

ReplyDeleteHe's an American hero. You're just jealous.
Just read the LA Times piece on Dorner. It says he was in the military from 2001-2005. When he got out he began his career as a cop.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-dorner-profile-20130207,0,3013535.story?page=1
The article doesn't specify whether he actually saw combat. But if he did this seems like a case of PTSD, since his weird behavior did not begin until he returned in 2005.

ReplyDeleteAccording to what I've read, he has one 6 month deployment to Bahrain.
There wasn't any combat in Bahrain and Bahrain isn't even in a war zone, although service members get paid as if it is. Also, Navy reservists never see combat, unless they are attached to gunships or SEAL teams. If he has PTSD, it's from seeing himself in the mirror at 270 lbs.
Reservists go through a battery of medical examinations and interviews before being deactivated, especially coming back from a war zone. PTSD would not have been missed. It's possible, but HIGHLY unlikely. All of the PTSD cases that are "missed" are Active Duty Army and Marines, because they do not go through the same battery of medical examinations and interviews that reservists go through. They don't go through them because they aren't yet being released back into civilization. As long as they are still under the military's thumb, the services aren't really compelled to identify injuries to treat. The young Soldier or Marine has to ask for help.
Dorner's PTSD complaint was likely to cover his incompetence and to gain sympathy. Shameful in reality.
The version of the manifesto circulating on the internet talking about gun control and celebrities appears to be fabricated - near as I can tell, the original ends before all of that jive.

Zimmerman used his gun for self-defense and he was made out to be kkk.
ReplyDeleteDorner kills innocents, and ny times wants to understand him.
Obama should call for a beer summit.
ReplyDeleteDorner will show up.

Yeah, he's a regular Frank Serpico. Why, I remember the scene in the movie where Al Pacino cold-bloodedly murders the daughter of one of the corrupt cops.
Did Charlie Sheen leave a number? How is Dorner going to call him?
ReplyDeleteDorner spotted in Japan!
ReplyDeleteAs far as catching Dorner goes, it would help if his picture was everywhere in the media so the average citizen could keep an eye out (and Dorner himself would be instilled with fear). Instead, for reasons obvious to iStevers, his image is all but absent from the mainstream media. Today I looked at an LA Times story on the case hoping to see a picture of the guy. Nope, no luck. Shameful.
ReplyDeleteCharlie's just happy to be relevant again. Let's all let him believe it.
ReplyDeleteZimmerman used his gun for self-defense and he was made out to be kkk.

Too bad it didn't take the MSM 24 hours to discover that Dorner wasn't white. That backpedaling would've been even more fun to watch.
I saw Dorner yesterday in Kalamazoo.
ReplyDeleteSteve, aren't you afraid he might target you? Big Bear is near Orange County, where (if I remember correctly) you live. He apparently planned this for years, and he might be very informed about your writings and influence in the HBD sphere.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. The Sacramento Bee website has resolutely kept Dorner's photo under wraps. They briefly featured the story and his photo on their front page yesterday, but other than that it's been hard to find anything. Sometimes the only way to even find the story has been to click on the "Most viewed" tab. That's what people are looking for. To find his picture you have to go to a photo gallery and after clicking through 10 or 15 shots of cowardly, panicky cops violating the Constitution, THEN you see a picture of Dorner
ReplyDeleteNow I agree this is not the world's most important story. BUT, if Dorner had been a White guy complaining about racism and going on a murderous rampage, the Bee would have featured his photo on every page, as large a possible, with devil horns and fangs photoshopped in. The headline would have been, "WHITE, RACIST COP SHOOTS PEOPLE WITH GUNS!!!:o.
Sheen is responsible for Dorner's rampage. Sheen should have declined the role of "hoodlum" in John Hughes' Ferris Bueller's Day Off and instead he should have suggested that a black kid get it. After all, Sheen's father was mega-famous in the 80s and Charlie was sure to be offered many other roles.
ReplyDeleteI hope LAPD is smart enough to pursue Dorner using teams of only NAMs and women to avoid the horror of white guys gunning him down and making him a martyr.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the Dorner Manifesto to Dreams From My Father.
Zimmerman used his gun for self-defense and he was made out to be kkk.
ReplyDeleteDorner kills innocents, and ny times wants to understand him.
Zimmerman didn't create a manifesto. Always create a manifesto.
Charlie Sheen is undoubtedly one of the most interesting people in the World, although in the low-life retard category.
ReplyDeleteThey should hire him to play the son of the Dos Equis guy.
Use a nut to catch a nut I guess...
ReplyDeleteI think of Tom Waits as quitessentially Valley. I am thinking of the album Nighthawks at the Diner, with lines like 'platinum blondes, tobacco brunettes...'
ReplyDeleteGilbert P.
Big Bear is near Orange County, where (if I remember correctly) you live.
ReplyDeleteYew ain't from around here, are ya.
Looper made me think of Adam Lanza.
ReplyDeleteSaw footage of this fat fuck running track today on German TV.Had a good laugh. I think 270 pounds might be on the conservative side for this whale. How on earth could such an out of shape guy could be considered cop material ? This guy wouldn't have passed the fitness test of the voluntary fire brigade here in Germany. I think the LAPD should overhaul their admission standards pronto.
ReplyDeleteGlenn Greenwald asks why we can't kill Donner with a drone-fired missile. Of course, Obama claims (with bipartisan support) the legal authority to have any American citizen killed or detained indefinitely, so what would be the objection if he did it in this case?
ReplyDeleteIn another decade, this question won't be a joke, and it probably won't even be a question. Since the Democrats have decided they're fine with all the war on terror powers claimed by W and now Obama, as long as they're in power, there's no opposition to it.
