Post: Nonwhites don't care about environment, whites at fault and must bribe minorities more to pretend to care

From the Washington Post:
Within mainstream environmentalist groups, diversity is lacking
... But Tutman is not unique in his feelings of isolation. Minorities in the nation’s largest environmental organizations said in interviews that they feel the same way.
In fact, they say, the level of diversity, both in leadership and staff, of groups such as the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Sierra Club and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation is more like that of the Republican Party they so often criticize for its positions on the environment than that of the multiethnic Democratic Party they have thrown their support behind.
Some of the groups say they are working toward greater diversity. “I think that the concerns are absolutely well founded,” said Adrianna Quintero, a lawyer for the NRDC. “It’s taken too long for environmental groups to work closely enough with minority communities.”
Kim Coble, vice president of environmental protection and restoration for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, said the organization strives for inclusion, even though the percentage of minorities on its full-time staff is only 4.5 percent in a region where they represent nearly half the population.
“The environmental movement has a bit of a reputation as being a wealthy white community, and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation works hard to counteract that,” Coble said.
The reputation is deserved, said Norris McDonald, president of the African American Environmentalist Association.
“This goes back a long way,” McDonald said. “It’s why I founded the [association] in 1985. . . . White groups weren’t hiring black professionals, and when they did, it was a hostile atmosphere. There were a handful of black professionals in the environmental groups then, and there are a handful now.” ...
The Sierra Club, whose director, Allison Chin, is Asian American, did not respond to requests for interviews. Spokeswoman Maggie Kao said the group has had an environmental justice arm for at least a decade. Still, several minorities who work for Sierra Club said it lacks diversity.

At no point in the article does anybody suggest that non-whites ought to care more about the environment. It's all about nonwhites getting more jobs and grants to cash in bigger on the environment racket.

Presumably, environmental organizations pay a little less than the corporations they pester. So, trustfunders tend toward Greenpeace and diversity hires gravitate toward BP. The only way to alter this is for the environmental organizations to devote less of their budget to doing whatever it is they do and more toward bidding wars for diversity hires.

It's fascinating how in the 21st Century, ancestry trumps just about everything else. It's kind of like the era of the divine right of hereditary monarchs in that who you are descended from seems to be considered the most important trait in determining your moral worth.

"We are proud that Sierra Club has successful diversity programs already established," said the Sierra Club President Allison Chin. "Now, with the leadership of a diversity council and my election as our first Asian-American president, the Sierra Club is committed to becoming an even more welcoming and inclusive organization."

  2. And the spokeswoman is as Asian-American as the director. Aren't Asians now over-represented at the senior level? Why isn't anyone complaining about that? Hmmmm...

  3. BTW, speaking of female directors and spokeswomen, I'd like to hear if anyone has any complaints about the sex ratio in the leadership. But I doubt anyone will...

  4. Hispanic Zimmerman killed young man Trayvon to save his own life.
Media said Nazi killed a black baby.

A young black man kills a half-hispanic/half-white baby, and no outcry from media.

One is either blind or retarded to deny that if a pair of white youths had been accused of murdering a thirteen-month-old black baby, it’d be an international news story for months if not decades. There would be righteous marches, keening outrage, a pious comment from Barack Obama, and possibly even riots.

  5. All of this diversity stuff is a secret Nazi plot to make everyone believe that whites are the master race. The Nazis learned that telling people they are the master race is unpopular, so they devised a double-secret bizarro plan using the exact opposite strategy: blame whites for all the problems in the world. Already, there is full on segregation taking place, but some people think this is part of the double-secret bizarro plan of the Confederacy.

  6. Is that satire? If it is, it's brilliantly twisted; if not, however, it's just the usual freaks and conspiracy theory bullshit one finds here...

  7. Did the WHITE environmentalists at least get praise for laying down and not opposing the mass invasion of diversity into this country?

Environmental groups can start remedying their diversity imbalance by putting tens of thousands of illegal aliens to work cleaning up the vast tracts of our southwestern deserts that they'd trashed on their way here to colonize our soil and welfare programs and in-state tuition Dream Act handouts.

Well, "whites are responsible for all the bad things" and "whites are responsible for all the good things" are both really the same statement. In either case, nobody else matters, whites are the only people in the world. Likewise, I detect a large amount of white pride when the left talks about "white privilege." The loonies love to talk so much about white privilege that you begin to think that the really, really like it. It's like girls who complain about all that annoying attention from men. They'll miss it when it's gone.

No because its not enough to support the regime, you must love Big Brother too.

  13. I'm not surprised the Post didn't cut to the chase and admit that environmentalism is a movement of old, white people. They've been beating that drum so often the past four months about another nationwide organization that to say the same about Big Green would imply they also are inexorably headed for the ash heap of history. That would hurt a lot of their subscribers' feelings.

  14. Environmental regulations raise the cost of housing and drive away manufacturing. It is rational for Hispanics, who often have large families and less often have the degrees needed for white collar jobs, not to be rabid environmentalists.

  17. Who says the Sierra Club doesn't support diversity?:

But the biggest donation the Sierra Club ever received is the one that altered it forever. In 2004, the Los Angeles Times revealed a $100 million gift made by investor David Gelbaum. Unfortunately for environmentalists, Gelbaum’s money came with the string attached that the club never speak out against or try to limit immigration into the United States no matter how obvious it became that adding more people has severe ecological consequences.

“Gelbaum told Times reporter Kenneth Weiss that his instructions to then-Sierra Club Executive Director Carl Pope were that “...if they ever came out anti-immigration, they would never get a dollar from me." Pope eagerly agreed...but with devastating results.

“Not that long ago, the Sierra Club had willingly tackled immigration-related population issues.

In her Spring, 1989 report Dr. Judy Kunofsky, chair of the Sierra Club Population Committee concluded that the club should work to: “bring about the stabilization of the population first of the United States and then of the world.” That goal was abruptly abandoned after the club deposited Gelbaum’s check.

There's just got to be a sense of irony in there, somewhere. Yellows can't be immune, can they? "I am proud that I have been elevated via America's new racial caste system to leadership of an organization that filthy whites built up from nothing. I am the living messiah of the new racial caste system, and there are many more like me..."

"I have been elevated to chief because of the color of my skin, and I'm here to tell you that's awesome. God smiles upon me. Time to double down."

  20. The problem with "diversity" as Newspeak is that it implies no moral urgency.

    I propose "decrackered."

The EEOC should be renamed the Ministry of Decrackerization.

A very interesting, though unsurprising point. The end point (if not the start point) for any issue driven not-for-profit is the employment of those who work there.

Sounds like satire to me, but the "serious" version of this theory has its own wikipedia page:

The same Dr. Kunofsky is now executive director of KlezCalifornia, a yiddish culture organization. I only mention this to point out the fact that there are scots-irish on both sides of many issues discussed here. Unfortunately, one side is backed by f**k you money and a serious will to power. I am not absolving my community for their considerable collective support for destructive (and ultimately self-destructive) ideas, but hope that good natured realists on the "ulster question" would differentiate more between genuinely hostile elites and well-behaved, productive middle/upper middle class orangemen. Elites in general tend towards sociopathy. The unionist elite is both more identifiable as a separate group than the rest of the hostile elite and sadly also over represented within its ranks. Sigh...

  24. Has anyone else noticed the plethora of atrocious Ad Council spots on talk radio, usually late at night, trying to teach black folk how to eat, how to know if they're fat, how to talk to their kids, etc? Totally useless and running in the wrong markets.

I wonder how much grant money goes into that shit.

  26. Is Allison Chin in favor of White Families having large families again like they did in the past? I mean, since she is clearly in favor of an immigration policy that makes it a certainty that there will be of US population of one billion in 25 years. This is what will happen if amnesty is passed.

I think we all know the answer to this question:negative birthrate for Whites;Asians get to come to the US and be fruitfull and multiply creating an even larger voting block for White minority status in the US. The Asians have quite a racket in the US. They can have top positions at the Sierra Club and agitate for White racial minority status, while at the same time, agitate for explosive Asian population growth. What would you call this an example of?

If only White Americans could see their future in a crystal ball.

  29. What you say is certainly true but is that bad?

Environmentalism is a new form of corruption. The public hasn't quite caught on to that truth yet, but it will. It will.

We should be glad that blacks and Hispanics have been relatively immune to the siren song of environmentalism.

Much the same is true in another area of popular corruption - higher education. If you really want to learn a subject the cost effective way, just buy a book or a software package. Going to a college and attending classroom lectures is just an elaborate way to waste money. The same sort of people who defend the traditional college campus are the people who think we should all worry about endangered species.

People who call themselves 'progressives' are the very ones who have a neurotic fear of progress. Al Gore for example before he tried to ride 'Global Warming' into the White House campaigned against all kinds of genetic research. He fear mongered modern agriculture and animal husbandry. He laid the ground work for the 'frankenfood' movement.

We should be happy that the relatively simple minds of minorities are less troubled by environmental nonsense.

  30. mark o'connor is an excellent australian environmentalist poet who writes about the absurdity of the co-existence of the left's two strange bedfellow pet projects - immigrationaism and environmentalism. he also exposes the fraudulance of pro-economic arguments for big immigration - everybody would do well to listen to this radio podcast of him debating some lightweight pro immigration shill. it's hilarious the swiftness in which he makes short work of her 'arguments'.
