"We have nothing to hate but hate itself"

A commenter writes
Back in June my brother wrote me:
I hate Obama.
And I wrote back:
Watch out, before you know it, hate itself will be a crime! We have nothing to hate but hate itself. And haters, themselves, as long as we only hate them for hating. Otherwise, that would make us haters, and we hate haters. For hating. Uh ... yeah. Go Obama!

  3. In the early 2000's when I was in college, the jewish campus groups at rutgers organized a "day against hate" each year. Being middle class, cloistered from the elites/liberal values and having no clue what a liberal, conservative, or anything was at the time, I immediately knew something shady was going on. Where was all this abominable hate? I have to see it to believe it.

The whole scheme was run by jewish campus groups that managed to create a "coalition" of usual LGBT, feminists, palestinians, muslims, blacks, jews, and just about anybody who would be willing to lose their dignity as a human to join.

Consistent blabbering about stopping "hate" and what not was the name of the game. So, I talked to people and researched the school newspaper and apparently there wasn't any hate crime or any hate going on at rutgers. Whites kept to themselves, blacks to themselves, jews to themselves, muslims to themselves, very diverse indeed.

The only hate crimes that I was aware of, were the constant emails rutgers police kept sending students of incidents involving white girls being raped by blacks.

It would be interesting to see the statistics on university rapes/emails. My brother who is in college now, gets them constantly too, and they seem to follow the same pattern from a few years ago, white girl raped by black.

    More KKK sighting.

"Dozens chanted “NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today” as they marched west on Church Ave. toward the 67th Precinct stationhouse."

  8. Might earnest Americans mistake cheerful British derision as hate? That would be hateful.

An iSteve commenter once memorably labeled this "affirmative affection."

    Mugging is "affirmative acquisition."

  11. In high school some teacher told the class she disliked prejudiced people. A student pointed out that she was prejudiced herself, in her case prejudiced against prejudiced people. That argument didn't fly very far as she simply invoked her authority over the students and shut down any further discussion. She gave out the grades and was the one in control. The dominant narrative in society just reflects the power relationship between different groups and their ability to shut others up. Idiot columnists who'll write any dribble are dime a million and are out there begging to be hired. Most of the public are just featherless geese being force-fed manure incessantly.
Perhaps at some point, in order to be allowed to make comments on the internet, they'll change from proving we're not robots to 'Please prove you're not a hater'.

  13. In typical PC Onion fashion, the picture accompanying the article about Chinese third graders falling behind US high school students showed a bunch of preppy white high schoolers.

No clue or no balls, take your pick.

  15. "Hate" is the new thought crime (after all, the thought is the mother to the deed).

  16. All these liberals committing 'despise crimes' and 'contempt crimes'.

They despise and feel contempt for so many kinds of people.

    And 'sneer crimes'.

As for blacks, their 'rage crimes'.

Is that our Nick Diaz? He wrote this:

"I’m an American, proud as hell to be one, and grateful for its hospitality, its goodness, and its warmth. It’s real. I feel it.

...I love being an American. Thank you, my fellow citizens, for the last 50 years. I’m proud to share this wonderful country with you."

    Must be a different Nick.

  19. I've actually had it represented this way to me, straight faced: "Intolerance of intolerance is the only kind of allowable intolerance".
They tie themselves up in Marcuse-ian knots without even noticing.

Sadly thats pretty routine. Articles of educational failure, school overcrowding, bullying etc are accompanied by images of white kids.

Heartwarming stories of educational success etc are accompanied by photos of non-white kids (usually girls) beaming at the camera, holding their hands up in class.
