Back on March 31, 2012, I blogged:
Let's try thinking like Tom Wolfe: for maximum discomfiture. Here's a possibility that might come out at, say, a trial of George Zimmerman if Crump dares put the girlfriend on the stand and expose her to cross-examination: It's hardly implausible that Trayvon Martin might have worried that this strange man was following him in the dark for homoerotic purposes, and he might have mentioned that concern to his girlfriend over the phone.
Then on May 18, 2012 I blogged:
From the New York Times:
Martin Spoke of ‘Crazy and Creepy’ Man Following Him, Friend Says
By Serge F. Kovaleski
... In the sworn interview recorded on April 2, which runs more than 22 minutes, the unidentified 16-year-old said Mr. Martin described a man who was “crazy and creepy” and on the phone, watching him from a vehicle before he started to follow him on foot.
Keep in mind that the cops didn't get to talk to this unidentified girl until almost two weeks after attorney Benjamin Crump coached her through a talk with ABC News, and that there is no recording of this phone call (unless Echelon has it, of course).
Now we know from her testimony that what Trayvon called Zimmerman was a "creepy ass cracker." Most of the attention has been focused upon the second Cr-word, but what about the first? What's the difference between "creepy ass cracker" and, say, "crazy ass cracker"? I'd say there's a notable difference. In this context, "crazy" would have no gay implication, while "creepy" suggests that Trayvon thought Zimmerman might be homosexual.
Indeed, as a commenter notes, when the young lady who was talking to Trayvon on the phone was asked to explain what this phrase meant, she replied, "Pervert."
From CBS:
The Trayvon case, with its semi-literate and not very satisfactory star witness, suggests why white liberal elites have been shifting their patronage from blacks to gays as their Favorite Victim Group.
Indeed, as a commenter notes, when the young lady who was talking to Trayvon on the phone was asked to explain what this phrase meant, she replied, "Pervert."
From CBS:
Jeantel said Martin complained to her that a man he described as a "creepy ass cracker" was following him through the community as he was walking home from buying snacks at a 7-Eleven. "He kept complaining that a man was just watching him," Jeantel said.
Martin told her he wanted to try and "lose" the man and starting walking back home, leaving the area near the mailboxes, she said.
"So he told me the man was looking at him, and I had to think it might have been a rapist," Jeantel said.

Martin thought Zimmerman was a gay zombie!!
ReplyDeleteZimmbie!
That particular group is very homophobic. And creates more problems than any other

Ann Althouse recently noted that "ass-cracker" is sometimes used as a gay slur.
ReplyDeleteWhen Don West asked the hippo chick "what culture is it" where people call whites "creepy ass crackers", she replied "Pervert."
ReplyDeleteAs in, she misunderstood the question, she thought he was asking what she thought TrayVon meant by creepy, and she said "pervert". If the defense attorney had pried any further, I bet she would have said "dat nigga gay!"
Websites such as "ConservativeTreeHouse" are suggesting that "Rachel Jeantel" testimony is a complete fabrication. No surprise there. But that the "Rachel Jeantel" on the stand may not be the "DeeDee" from a year ago.
ReplyDeleteSomebody help me out. I thought Trayvon's supposed girlfriend was "DeeDee" and previous alleged pictures of her show her to be a far more attractive, slimmer and younger female.
If one was afraid of being the target of Gay cruising for sex I doubt a condominium would be a prime stroll.
ReplyDeleteI could understand a young person being uneasy about the grounds of a convenience store being a prime prostitution pickup local. I have seen enough episodes of COPS to know that can be the case. But unless Trayvon had reason to believe Zimmerman had trailed him from the 7-11, which is not the case, the story line appears fabricated nonsense.
One can only hope that it finally dawns on the Progressive Elite that the third-worlders they keep flooding into the country hate hate hate gays.
ReplyDeleteGay bashings are up even in New York, mostly via swarthy men with Spanish sounding names. Not that there's any racial element to it.
Swarthy gay hating is the only thing that might crack through the multi-cult fantasy.
Linguist John McWhorter says Rachel Jeantel's English is "perfect".
ReplyDeleteAlso, this meme that Trayvon had a 3.7 GPA was a church goer, community volunteer, etc., has been retweeted more than 2,000 times so far.
I realize Steve isn't necessarily hip to the youth lingo. For instance, "gay" can either mean homosexual or more generally stupid, dumb, or boring. "Creepy" can either mean pervert or more simply not good looking. "Fag" can either mean homosexual or someone I don't like that I think I can beat up.
ReplyDeleteHigh school students will say things like "math is gay" or "you better get out of my way fag." The GLBTetc. crowd isn't happy that implying someone is homosexual is a commonly used insult even when it isn't believed to be true. I've also seen high school students refer to ugly or nerdish people as creepy or perverts. Again, it is just an insult, and doesn't imply they actually believe it to be true. I've known black students who generally refer to white people as fags.
McWhorter is right in that there isn't anything to indicate that bilingualism is at the root of Jeantel being an inarticulate slob. It is possible to talk like a black person and sound like you have two brain cells to rub together.
ReplyDeleteAs a straight man who was once almost gaybashed by a carload of vibrant youth, it wouldn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteOnce, as I was walking to the convenience store, a passing Jeep full of promising young scholars started yelling homophobic slurs in my direction.
The affront elicited foolishly hostile invective from my brother. Predictably, they pulled in to the parking lot to confront us.
I told by brother to shut up, walked up to the passenger side window, and indignantly said "What the F*ck, dude?, We're brothers not F*ggots."
Thankfully, by identifying with their homophobia, tapping into their cultural affinity for brothers, and calmly standing my ground, I managed to keep my teeth.
The driver's reply was classic:"MY BAD. I'M SORRY. YOU TWO HAVE A NICE DAY!!!" His demeanor was oddly reminiscent of a patrolman who had just let someone go after mistakenly detaining them.

("Creepy" can either mean pervert or more simply not good looking.)
ReplyDeleteWhen the witness was asked to explain what it meant in this context, she said "Pervert."
Maybe Trayvon thought Z was a homosexual Jeffrey Dahmer type. More than half of Dahmer's victims were black.
ReplyDeleteAttorney: "What did you say to him, or what did he say to you after that?"
ReplyDeleteJeantel: "He kept tellin' me the man was lookin' at him. So I had to think it mighta been a rapist."
Semi-literate? I think you're being generous.
ReplyDelete"When Don West asked the hippo chick..."
ReplyDeleteReminded me of this.
@dave pinsen,
ReplyDeletebeing able to speak grammatically doesn't require a high IQ imho.
Most of the world speaks well whatever their native language is, and most languages are very expressive. There are very few really primitive languages out there (amazon indian languages) and neither black english nor haitian creole belong in that category.
She probably has a hard time understanding what's said to her and answering questions in an understandable manner because standard english is a quasi-foreign dialect to her.
She does seem like a low IQ mamma but, I just don't think you need high IQ to speak most human languages. Even the dim among us are decently equipped with the right circuitry for language acquisition and usage.
Btw, anyone knows if she's a 1st gen immigrant or if she was born in the usa ? Her last name is a phonetic rendering of the common haitian last name "Gentil".
I still don't understand why the brown-skinned Zimmerman is considered "white". Really this shouldn't have ANYTHING to do with the white community.
ReplyDeleteIn a sane world.....
So the theory is that Martin attacked Zimmerman when Trayvon realized Z wasn't going to abuse his ass?
ReplyDeleteHis demeanor was oddly reminiscent of a patrolman who had just let someone go after mistakenly detaining them.
ReplyDeleteClassic.
More than half of Dahmer's victims were black.
Is that why Dahmer was murdered in prison?
I was waiting for this to come up. :)
ReplyDeleteThey stopped their quote too soon however. In response to Trayvon saying, "there's a creepy ass cracker following me," Jeantel said, "Maybe he's a rapist."
Trayvon's reply to that was along the lines of, "Don't play me like that."
And yet another layer of circus yuk-yuk's to the whole farce was that the attorneys and court reporter could barely understand a word she was saying and at first thought she said racists, not rapist.
I'll try to track down the YouTube segment. This whole trial has been a peak at the US' post-racial future, right down to the white latina bomb-shell from Columbian witness with her own personal court translator. The translator was also conspicuously caucasian in complexion. I guess that's one part Tom Wolfe missed.
Maybe Trayvon thought Z was a homosexual Jeffrey Dahmer type. More than half of Dahmer's victims were black.
ReplyDeleteMore than half of Dahmer's homosexual victims were black. FIFY.
Rush Limbaugh has long said that minorities lose their race and ethnicity the moment they're outed as conservatives.
ReplyDeleteSo does the same hold true now for homophobia [sic]? If a black or brown man expresses anti-Sodomite sentiments, does he lose his color and his coveted victim status?
I think so. There's a new hierarchy upending the old. Now the order, without combining the various designated and saintly victim groups, is:
1) Gay
2) Black
3) Woman
4) Muslim
5) Brown
6) Cripple
Of course, you can score damage multipliers by combining any and all of these sainted victim groups.
Who-Whom
ReplyDeletePerhaps a reader here who has been following the case more closely than me can answer a question about this witness: did she and Trayvon ever meet in person?
ReplyDelete"Btw, anyone knows if she's a 1st gen immigrant or if she was born in the usa ? Her last name is a phonetic rendering of the common haitian last name "Gentil"."
ReplyDeleteI believe John McWhorter wrote that at least one of her parents is a Haitian immigrant.
When Trayvon referred to GZ as a "creepy-ass cracker" he was clearly referring to GZ's race as "cracker" is a common term for whites in Florida more than elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteIf you've ever been to Seaside in NW FL, praised by Prince Charles and used by Peter Weir as the set for "The Truman Show," you've seen the influence of Florida "cracker architecture."
Maybe Trayvon was more of an Art-Deco man.
More than half of Dahmer's homosexual victims were black. FIFY.
ReplyDeleteFor sure. I thought it was relatively well known that Dahmer was a homosexual and murdered homosexuals.
"The Trayvon case, with its semi-literate and not very satisfactory star witness, suggests why white liberal elites have been shifting their patronage from blacks to gays as their Favorite Victim Group."
ReplyDeleteAs Robert Weissberg said, homos are a useful front for de-negroifying--gentrifying--cities. Have homos move in and create gay areas which repel blacks. Property values go up. Then use section 8 to send blacks to square suburbs.

Maybe adults can be children and vice verse, in which case it won't be child molestation anymore. Open borders vocabulary where anything can mean anything.

Here's the You Tube segment. The "creepy-ass cracker" lol's start at about the 8 minute mark, the "he might be a rapist," is about the 9:20 mark. The whole farce lasts for about 4-5 minutes as everyone tries to figure out her slurred ebonics.

It would be hilarious if an innocent man's life wasn't in the balance.
Oops. Delete that last comment. Didn't realize you'd made a post of it. :) Thank you.
ReplyDelete(I thought it got hung-up for quoting the N-word.)
Isn't Zimmerman a kind of Crackez?
ReplyDeletePerhaps a reader here who has been following the case more closely than me can answer a question about this witness: did she and Trayvon ever meet in person?
ReplyDeleteYes. They've known one another since the 2nd grade (I think they went to the same school, or something?). The had recently become reacquainted, though. And their friendship was exclusively or almost exclusively a telephone relationship.
She was born in the USA IIRC.
As Robert Weissberg said, homos are a useful front for de-negroifying--gentrifying--cities. Have homos move in and create gay areas which repel blacks. Property values go up. Then use section 8 to send blacks to square suburbs.
ReplyDeleteMight sound like a nitpick, but I think the active ingredient is not so much that homo areas repel blacks as it is that homos don't have kids, so they can insulate themselves from what keeps many whites from joining the reconquista.
There is another less far fetched explanation. Trayvon Martin was just what Zimmerman thought he was - a black thug casing the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it the defense does not have to offer an alternative theory of the event so we probably won't hear anymore about this, but the fear of being attacked by a gay man is pretty far fetched. Even a genius like Martin should have realized that a homosexual man looking for action doesn't sit alone in the rain in his car in a residential neighborhood at night.
Who would be out there except a neighborhood watch volunteer? Martin, who had some gang affiliations and burglary associates would expect that. If he had said to his girl friend, "I've been spotted by some watchman cracker". Would that statement have ever made it into court. Jeantel had been surrounded and coached by the prosecution since the very beginning. Everything she said on the witness stand had been prepared for her. I think it's naïve to assume it is a full and accurate accounting of what was said or meant.
