Obama restarts hate crime investigation of Zimmerman

From the NYT:
Justice Department to Restart Hate Crime Investigation in Trayvon Martin’s Death
By ERIC LIPTON

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department said Sunday that it was restarting its investigation into the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin to consider possible separate hate crime charges against George Zimmerman.

The federal inquiry, which was started shortly after the shooting last year but had been delayed while the state criminal trial in Florida was under way, was being restarted after civil rights leaders called on the Justice Department to re-examine the case. The leaders said Sunday that they remained convinced that the shooting had a racial element. Mr. Martin, 17, was black.
“There is a pattern of George Zimmerman making dozens of calls to 911 over several years, frequently about young men of color,” Benjamin T. Jealous, the president of the N.A.A.C.P., said in an interview on Sunday. . ...

Zimmerman is guilty of disparate impact in noticing things. Noticing things is a hate crime.
But the Obama administration’s Justice Department has been cautious in its use of the expanded law. In 2010, for example, it turned down calls by civil rights leaders to file charges in New York City in the 2006 death of Sean Bell, a 23-year-old black man who was fatally shot by police officers outside a Queens club just hours before he was to be married.

Yeah, but that's merely the little old NYPD. The Zimmerman Menace is the main threat to civil rights.

Earlier, Newsday reported:
The U.S. Justice Department, which opened an investigation into the George Zimmerman case Sunday, could charge him with federal civil rights violations, local attorneys said.
While a Florida jury found neighorbood watch volunteer Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder, a federal probe would examine whether he violated Martin's civil rights when he fatally shot him Feb. 16, 2012, in Sanford, Fla.
To prove such violations requires a different standard of evidence and law than what was used in the state case against Zimmerman. So a federal prosecution would not be double jeopardy, they said.
Robert Valli, a Garden City-based civil rights attorney said if a probe proceeds, the local federal prosecutor would likely seek a grand jury indictment on charges that Zimmerman violated the federal Hate Crimes Prevention Act.
Valli said potential charges would be the government's "version of a homicide charge, coupled with the intention to do so because of the person's membership in a protected class."

Constitutionally speaking, wouldn't it just be simpler for Obama to order a drone strike on Zimmerman's condo?

As someone remarked already, if he goes to Latin America there is a chance they won't agree to extradite him, because he was exonerated in a court.

But with reduction of crime in big cities white elite libs dwell, libs can indulge in Ken-Burns-ist fantasy and pretend that black crime is no big deal.

Not the case in Zimmerman's neighborhood.

As libs control the media, they control the narrative. Since they feel so much safer, they're wondering why the likes of Zimmerman are so afraid of black crime.

White victims are usually investigated for stuff like not having a gun license, or being racist to their black staff.

He was found not guilty of the crime he was charged with and the other one the judge agreed that the State could add at the last minute (murder 2 and manslaughter). He was not found not guilty of any and all crimes he might or might not have committed.

  34. Here's the relevant portion of the Federal Hate Crimes Law, 18 U.S.C. §249:

    (a) In General
    (1) ....Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, a dangerous weapon, or an explosive or incendiary device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin of any person-

I don't possibly see how Zimmerman could be charged again under this, the only remotely applicable civil rights statute. The mens rea here, willfulness, is exactly the issue which the jury was deciding.

This is true no matter which meaning you impart to wilfulness. In the criminal law context, it can mean either bare intentionality or evil purpose. In fact, without intending to, attaching the jury charge of manslaughter may have actually insulated old Georgie from prosecution under the Hate Crimes act. That's because the jury, in addition to hearing the instructions regarding ill will and spite relating to the 2nd degree charge, also heard the manslaughter charge, which required them to consider whether "Zimmerman intentionally committed an act or acts that caused the death of TM."

They found him not guilty on both charges. Therefore, the Florida jury has already determined that he didn't act willfully.

You can't satisfy the elements of the federal statute if you don't have willfulness. The jury considered and rejected that Zimmerman acted willfully. Trying him under the Hate Crimes Act would very clearly be double jeopardy.

That doesn't take anything away, of course, from all those who have pointed out that the fact this is simply being considered is a sign of how far the rot has set.

  36. Wonder what fraction of burglary convictions in Sanford, and specifically Zimmerman's gated community, are against blacks. Wikipedia says Sanford is 30.5% black, and Seminole County is 11.1% black. Wouldn't be shocked if > 90% of Sanford burglaries are due to blacks. Having that stat pointed out in a civil rights trial might not be what the Obama Administration has in mind.

Obama/Holder are playing with fire with this one. George Zimmerman has been acquitted, and a very large portion of America, including all Republicans and most swing voters, are absolutely ready to accept that he's innocent. This isn't one of those minor scuffles the public will ignore. This will be front page news, and it will make Obama and Holder look like the racist, race-agitating, anti-American radicals they are. Just what the Republicans want in time for the 2014 elections: an Obama-voting martyr that makes Obama and the Dems look bad.

What it most closely reminds me of is the Racial Justice Act in North Carolina, which freed several black murderers from the death penalty based on "disparate impact" caused by supposedly racist jurors. It may have been a major reason why Republicans retook the governorship for the first time in 20 years and saw their majority in the NC House increase from 68 of 120) to 77.

Think of a hate crime trial as a "do-over" or the girls.

You know what I mean. You remember in grade school dodge ball how the girls always got to stand closer to the other team than the boys did when they threw the balls at them?

At this point, he doesn't have to ever be found guilty of any criminal or civil charge. The feds have zeroed in on him as a target to support the Narrative, and they have in essence a bottomless well of resources.

Unless he is a multimillionaire, defending himself alone will lead to completely plowing through everything he and his family own, and bankruptcy.

And even if he could get financial support, he will be in and out of court rooms for years. Though Zimmerman looks Mexicanish, he's actual of Peruvian descent, and most Hispanics in America are not from Peru. So, most Mexican-Americans didn't care. Also, Florida is not a Mexican heavy state.

Federal Hate Crime laws were written specifically to make the Constitutional prohibition on double jeopardy a dead letter if the federal government wants to prosecute someone for political reasons (read: if you're the wrong kind of white person, or in Z's case, a pseudo-white for purposes of sustaining The Narrative). It's not constitutional according to the letter of the law; it's constitutional according to our "living constitution" as defined by Rabbinical hair-splitters who specialize in inverting and perverting the spirit of the law. So citing the law is beside the point; the law is whatever the lawyers and judges say it is. And they say it ain't double jeopardy. Or they'll try to anyway.

  68. Lib psychology.

Maybe libs wanted Zimmerman to be convicted because they want MORE BLACKS to be locked up.

White libs are afraid of black thugs and want them behind bars.
But to justify this, there has to the sense that whites are locked up when they hurt or kill blacks too.
If there's the perception that 'racist' whites are not locked up, then blacks will be up in arms, and it will be more difficult for white libs to support the policy of locking up dangerous blacks.

So, to justify the mass incarceration of bad blacks, there has to be perception that bad whites are locked up too and that the system is fair.

  95. Sailer has defended the potential legitimacy of hate crime laws from time to time, and I think one of the best arguments against him was that the most analogous legal concept was in free speech. Some restrictions on speech beyond the usual exceptions (defamation, etc.) are indeed defensible, but it's just a kind of power you don't want in the hands in hands of your opponent. And DOJ is always the one wielding that power. Still favor 'hate crimes' now, Steve?

If there was a seriousness in our elites about the state of black America - which is terrible, black areas are s**tholes - the strategy would be to shame black middle and upper class by rubbing their noses in the atrocious behavior of the black underclass. The last thing a serious person would do would be to pander to black upper and middle class and even to give them affirmative action and minority set asides, etc. which only give them a motivation to maintain a black underclass as they benefit so much.

They wouldn't mind persecuting George some more (the trial itself is a major punishment, even without a conviction) but they must realize that their odds of conviction aren't going to be any better the 2nd time around (there is even less evidence that George is a racis' than there was that he was not acting in self-defense) and a 2nd acquittal would be a further humiliation.

I'm sure someone (Steve, probably) has mentioned this already, but I can't recall: this case definitely illustrates a good reason for Hispanics to avoid self-identifying as "white."

A smart move for his whole family would be to leave the country before charges are filed.

Or he could just apply for welfare (gov't-induced unemployableness), fire his legal team, get a public defender, and copy-paste his defense in from his criminal trial. FFS, these people got nothing. Nothing. To quote Tommy Lee Jones from Natural Born Killers, "you got a-SHEIT-A!!"

Or he could split the difference: hire a cheap lawyer (?) and pocket half his legal defense fund, if that looks like a viable gig.

He definitely needs to take a proactive approach to his new life, from here on out: book deals, lecture circuit, broadcast personality, etc.

He'll have to ditch that Democrat party affiliation nonsense, of course. There are several niches open to him: Tacticool Badass would be my choice - gun-nuts are loyal customers - but plain ol' conservative Republican would do.

Yeah, I don't know WTF they're thinking. First, doing nothing lets this case fade away, which has got to be a good thing for them, at this point...yes? Second, it lets them look magnanimous and post-racial with zero effort.

Unless he is a multimillionaire, defending himself alone will lead to completely plowing through everything he and his family own, and bankruptcy.

Hence, my strategy above. Public defender, baby. Cut-and-paste legal defense. Hell, if I were in Zim's shoes I'd be plotting my "okay, now you STFU up and let me do the talking" defense with my hack, state-provided, Men's-Wearhouse-besuited lawyer right now.

And even if he could get financial support, he will be in and out of court rooms for years. Look at the pics of him from April and compare to current pics; the stress toll on him is obvious by how much he ballooned in that short time. Now multiply that over years, and see how much of a toll its going to have on him.

Stress is overrated. You get used to it. At this point in Zim's life, I think it's time for a lil' "ju wanna play rough! Okay! We can play rough! But jour playing with da bess, baby! Take dat, ju whores!"

I think zimmie needs to take the fight to the SOBs, not hide. Go on Fox, Rush, and the more radical outlets, blast them.
Go on a media blitz, and don't be polite or politically incorrect.
Do not apologize. This is a teachable moment for millions of white americans.

The arguments to use are all over the rightwing internet. Sell a book, make a million. And then he will make millions of converts. Any further jury will be bound to have a least a majority of whites or hispanics on it, be it criminal or civil.

  113. I'd be surprised if the hate crime prosecution goes much further. My track record for these kind of predictions hasn't been very good but here goes.

The Martin-Zimmerman incident is sharply divisive along racial lines. All blacks it seems are convinced that Zimmerman did something wrong. Many advocate that some black street thug murder sweet pudgy George. So if you want to appeal politically to blacks you would prosecute Zimmerman for anything you could dream up.

But all blacks are already going to vote for Obama backed candidates in the upcoming elections. You might think that because blacks like everyone else have been losing their enthusiasm for Obama that he might pursue Zimmerman so as to 'prop up his base'. There could be some of that but blacks are already energized along racial lines. Obama has already benefited from this case simply because it has driven Benghazi, Fort Hood, and the IRS scandals off the air. He could have Eric Holder flay Zimmerman alive on the White House Lawn and he would not get anymore black votes - there aren't anymore to be gotten.

This case seems to be splitting off many white liberals from the blacks among the Obama supporters. The case for self defense is simple and obvious. You have to actually be black as to be able to overlook that. Many white liberals can't manage to hold their nose and condemn Zimmerman for the sake of the Democrat Party.

It is probably a mistake for Obama to ally the Zimmerman case with the gun control issue. The whole Second Amendment issue is now and has always been based on fear of violent Negroes. George Mason and the Virginia planters were strongly in favor of an armed militia because they feared a slave insurrection. This fear still resonated with the Tea Party and a host of other groups during the recent gun control debate. The home defense rational means fear of black home invaders.

George Zimmerman is just the sort of person many whites would like patrolling their neighborhood. And they would want him armed. They will not say this in public but when they say they support the Second Amendment the subtext is fear of 'teens' or 'youths' by which they mean large black males with drug and gang connections like Trayvon Martin.

If Obama does, despite my predictions, continue to pursue George Zimmerman there will be another run on gun stores. White Americans will stock up on every possible gun once again.

Buying a gun is like buying gold - its a demonstration of little faith in government. If you think the government is undisciplined you buy gold. If you think it isn't concerned with your safety you buy a gun.

If Obama were to firmly support the jury's decision and stamp down on street protests, if he were to have Eric Holder prosecute all those who are now making inflammatory statements of revenge, then white America would not feel the need to be armed so much.

It is often said that Obama hasn't had many accomplishments. But you have to admit - he certainly got America armed. He may not have been very successful with any of his formal jobs initiatives but he has brought full employment to gun shops and gun smiths.

  115. There isn't going to be a civil rights trial. Too much dirty linen that would be disclosed: evidence destroyed or not produced by the prosecution, etc.

My guess is that Holder/Obama will cut a deal with Zimmerman: if the Z-man agrees not to sue Sanford for withholding evidence, the Feds will agree not to sue him for civil rights violations. The Talented Tenth Negro Elite will get bored waiting for the Feds to finish their what-will-be-long-drawn-out civil rights "investigation" and will move on to some other "crisis".

Let's face it. With the collapse of law and order in Detroit, Flint and other Negro homelands, "vigilantism" (aka justifiable homicide) is the only way the decent Negro masses are able to stay in their homes. The Negro Elite knows this as well as anyone else. The Negro Elite milked Trayvon for about as much political capital as they can get. Its time to move on now.

No Federal civil rights trial either criminal or civil.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Has anyone outside the Steve-o-Sphere noticed that, in typical fashion, the grounds for outrage keep subtly shifting?

Month 1- "A crazed white vigilante murdered an innocent, angelic boy!". Then it turned out that Martin wasn't so innocent or angelic, and was for all practical purposes a man, not a boy. Zimmerman was also revealed to be not so crazed and not so white. So that angle was dropped.

Later- "It's those awful 'Stand your Ground' laws, that's what's wrong!". But the defense didn't even need to mention that law at trial, because was totally irrelevant to the case. That line was abandoned pretty swiftly by the smart media players, though some stragglers still haven't wrapped their heads around it yet.

During the trial (after it became clear that there was no way to prove murder)- "Zimmerman recklessly provoked a confrontation, ignoring police instructions!". But police testified that he cooperated fully and followed all their instructions, and the jury subsequently agreed.

After the acquittal- "Anyone who is going to carry a deadly weapon should be more careful, and more knowledgeable!" i.e., GZ was a little bit of a bumbling incompetent, which is more-or-less true.

This kind of "outrage distillation" is common when the press push a bull***t narrative and then discover that they were mostly wrong. The can't continue lying, but they can focus the same amount of anger and opprobrium onto smaller and smaller sins.

    ReplyDelete
  119. "Guys, it has been so much fun, I say we do it again!"

There's no "again" because Zimmerman didn't do anything wrong.

Yes but bear in mind that most people don't pay full attention to the news and pay most at the beginning of a story so that first version is the one that has stuck most in the minds of people like that who only read mainstream or overtly liberal media.

I have relatives who only vaguely followed the story and they all thought Martin was like the 12 year old kid in the photo the media used everywhere - even in Europe btw. They all use the 12 year old photo.

  121. Obama has ridden this train about as far as he wanted to (all the way to a 2nd term) and he is getting off before the next stop.

That's my guess too. The only reason for pursuing it further would be to punish Zimmerman for killing a black guy, but as others have pointed out, these people don't care about blacks getting killed every night in Chicago. This was about political advantage, and there's just no more political hay to be made here anymore. Too many people have seen pictures of Zimmerman and realized he's not the white supremacist gun-nut that was implied, and those numbers (and the number of people seeing recent pictures of Martin) would only grow in a second trial.

So my guess is that they'll make some loud noises about investigating it thoroughly, suggest that that will take a while, and assume that everyone will have forgotten about it a month from now.

    ReplyDelete
  122. It might be that this is just a tactic by the administration to let the situation cool down slowly. Kind of like the theory that whites are protesting so that blacks won't riot.

Black people knew that O.J was innocent because he was black, and Sailer's fans know that Zimmerman was innocent because he is white (white enough, anyway). What a load of nonsense. With Steve Sailer's patented ethno-goggles you can see farther and clearer than silly liberals and other homosexualists! Available now!

The Sanford Police did not withhold evidence and neither did the local state's attorney's office. This misfeasance was the work of the special prosecutor's office.

Federal civil rights charges are humbug. Martin was not killed undertaking any sort of civil activity and Zimmerman is not a public official. It has been suggested that they would collar him with federal 'hate crimes' law, but they would have to come up with evidence that the diffident Mr. Zimmerman was peculiarly hostile to anyone. The only thing the feds could do with an honest federal district judge looking over their shoulder is to attempt to extort some sort of plea through driving him further into insolvency and/or to get his lawyers to bail for economic reasons. (That prosecutors can do this to people is another scandal).

  132. f there was a seriousness in our elites about the state of black America - which is terrible, black areas are s**tholes - the strategy would be to shame black middle and upper class by rubbing their noses in the atrocious behavior of the black underclass.

No, there would be a country-wide campaign to erect metropolitan police departments, staff them well, and hire disciples of William Bratton to run them. With what New York City has accomplished since 1993, it is a reasonable goal to work toward a state of affairs where Detroit has a homicide rate of 14 per 100,000, not 41 per 100,000. That this is not done is a function of institutional defects (structural and cultural), vested interests, and penny-wise foolishness on the part of suburban voters.

  134. Just Another Guy With a 19117/15/13, 12:36 PM

My guess is George will stand his ground when/if the feds came after him. I think this for a few reasons.

First, while some may view George as a bumbling do gooder, I view him a little different. At the end of the day, HIS neighborhood was under siege by Obama's children - and, as far as I can tell, he was the only one in the development who didn't live his life in fear of assholes and f*ing punks. Say what you like, but I bet he is pretty stubborn.

Second - the media grabbed onto the profoundly suspect racial category "White Hispanic" as the original narrative began to unravel -which obscures the fact that, if anything, he is Jewish Hispanic (although a practicing Catholic). One of the most endearing or annoying cultural traits (depending on your perspective) of the Jews I have known (and I grew up in a heavily Jewish suburb in the North East) is that they are generally pretty bright, verbally aggressive, and stubborn as all get out - much like his brother Rob in fact who would routinely verbally ground and pound Piers Morgan on CCN.

(If you have never seen him - Rob is very polished, deals well with media, and appears to have a very high level of verbal ability.)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ePcLS5f7jw

Finally, George has an awesome legal team that, given enough financial resources, could go toe to toe with the Feds in court and in the press. Keep in mind the Feds really just over charge and outspend and grind down defendants - it's not like there is anyone in the DOJ better than O'mara. If the trial showed anything is that State Prosecutors, even the good ones, are not particularly great.

Which comes to the issue of Money: Zimmerman has already raised hundreds of thousands for his defense without much effort. As someone said - write a book, go on Rush, Hannity, etc., as well as the news and talk shows. If he did this in conjunction with actively soliciting donations for his defense, I bet he could raise several million without much effort.

Every second that George or his proxies are on the offensive, on the television, and in peoples faces telling his story - it will become that much harder for the average voter to ignore the administration's tacit support of what amounts to racially driven low level genocide in the form of persistent violent crime against whites (and everyone else, it seems) by underclass blacks like Trayvon.

"It is probably a mistake for Obama to ally the Zimmerman case with the gun control issue. The whole Second Amendment issue is now and has always been based on fear of violent Negroes. George Mason and the Virginia planters were strongly in favor of an armed militia because they feared a slave insurrection. This fear still resonated with the Tea Party and a host of other groups during the recent gun control debate. The home defense rational means fear of black home invaders."

That's well-reasoned,but wrong. Gun control was actually devised by liberal whites because of a fear of armed former slaves.

A slavemaster who was good at his job could leave a loaded double-barrel shotgun laying around and none of his negroes would touch it because, (a) blacks are naturally dependent and WANT a benevolent white provider, look what they did when they got the vote, and (b)The slavemaster put the fear of god into his slaves about any form of disobedience. As long as he was reasonably providing for the negroes' wants as a group,he could get quite nasty with some negro in particular.

Brandi Green lives in a neighborhood chock-a-bloc with the common-and-garden middle class (a retired teacher, an IT tech, a real estate sales agent, and an insurance underwriter are among her neighbors). Not sure about Alicia Stanley, but from her grooming and speech patterns, I would guess wage-earning office employee. Jahvaris Fulton is a college student. Trayvon Martin was not in any way shape or form 'underclass'. He was at the nexus of the common middle class and the prosperous working class.

It's a good call grammatically. The word should have been "thug-wannabee" or something like that. But what class analysis misses (or underplays) is mobility among classes - and contrary to feel-good myths, most class mobility is downward. Trayvon wasn't sinking, he was sunk (but our host disagrees with that assessment).

Let's use "low class"? Anyone from any background can surely be low class. It could be all Just Another Guy With a 1911 meant.

You have to actually be black as to be able to overlook that. Many white liberals can't manage to hold their nose and condemn Zimmerman for the sake of the Democrat Party.

I'm thinking blue collar union (aka Reagan) Democrats myself. White limo liberals are too insulated from black crime to empathize with Zimmerman. Sanford's burglary rate is 8x New York City's. It is literally out of control. Unlike his limo liberal and conservative critics, Zimmerman's not a rich guy. He can't afford to move away.

    Art Deco -

Note to self: turn in Communist Party USA membership card. Kidding aside, good catch and those are interesting facts re: Martin's socioeconomic background I was not aware of. I followed the case pretty closely. Were any of these facts adduced at trial or widely available and I just missed it?

That being said, my class assumptions were based on Martin's behavior and I'm not convinced that the details you supplied really change the analysis in any fundamental way. It is Martin's behavior, what he became, that is most important. Clearly, whatever station the St. Skittles Express started at in life it sure as hell wasn't where it ended. It just makes Trayvon's descent into thug or, to use David's term, low class life and its attendant and corrosive characteristics/societal effects all that more depressing in that, perhaps, it could have been prevented somewhere along the line.

Also, the facts about Martin's background leads to a question that goes deeper into the heart of everything. Namely, why did Trayvon feel (and demonstrate) so much affinity for prevailing black underclass mores, values and behaviors, to the point where he felt entitled/empowered to kill a "cracka" who he thought disrespected him, than the generic middle class ones that, based on the socioeconomic background you supplied, he ostensibly would have been inculcated with.

    ReplyDelete
  154. most class mobility is downward. Trayvon wasn't sinking, he was sunk (but our host disagrees with that assessment).

Not unless the ratio of the below to the above is continually expanding. It is not. The ratio of salaried employees and proprietors to wage earners is actually somewhat higher than it was in 1925. The more salient difference is that there were in that stratum proportionately fewer salaried employees ninety years ago and many more farm proprietors. Compared to the rest of the population, farm proprietors are a good deal more affluent than was the case in 1925, but there are few of them left (about 1.2% of the workforce is in agriculture and allied trades). Some sectors of the agrarian labor force (e.g. tenant farmers and share-croppers) have disappeared entirely.

The wage earning sector is proportionately slightly smaller. The principal change in its composition has been the decline of workers in goods producing enterprises in favor of service employment.

Trayvon Martin was only 17. He was not sunk. Some punks that age grow out of it in short order, some after a certain number of years and opportunities wasted, and some remain a problem way into middle age. Tracy Martin and his brother grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois - i.e. in the most viperous slum in America. You never can quite tell about people at a young age.

Wow! Zimmerman was convicted for resisting arrest and obstruction of justice? We learned from you just a few days ago that Bill Lee was convicted of resisting arrest and obstruction of justice, too. What a coincidence!

Oh, wait, that was just a gross error on your part, one which you, as far as I can gather, have never bothered to acknowledge or correct, even after I called you on it, even though you replied to the comment in which I did so.

And now, we have another of your gross errors. Zimmerman was not convicted of resisting arrest or obstruction of justice, either. And btw, the former charge was "resisting arrest without violence."

I hope you don't serve on many juries.

What's next from you? Skip Gates was convicted of burglary?

Zim's statement on the resisting arrest and obstruction incident, from his police academy application:

“I was arrested in July of 2005 for assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. Both charges were immediately dropped to resisting arrest without violence, and then dropped all together.

“I was in an altercation with an undercover officer that was taking part in an ATF sting for underage drinking in UCF. He never told me he was an officer and assaulted me first. Shortly after that, in September 2005, the same unit was conducting a sting at UCF and an officer was killed by an OPD officer because he discharged his weapon and did not identify himself.

“My father is a retired Magistrate Judge for the Supreme Court of Virginia and my mother was a deputy clerk of court for over 20 years. I hold law enforcement officers in the highest regaurd (sic) as I hope to one day become one. I would never have touched a police officer. Prior to and since that I have not been arrested.

Fox News (according to Half Sigma's quote):

In July 2005, Zimmerman, then 21, was at a bar near the University of Central Florida when a friend was arrested by state alcohol agents on suspicion of serving underage drinkers, according to an arrest report in the Sentinel. Zimmerman became profane and pushed away an agent who tried to escort him, the report said. Authorities said he was arrested after a short struggle. Charged with resisting arrest without violence, he avoided conviction by entering a pretrial-diversion program, something common for first-time offenders.

Here's what the obviously-hostile allvoices.com has to say about the domestic violence issue:

In the same year (2005), Zimmerman's ex-fiance, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order, alleging domestic violence. In retaliation, Zimmerman filed for a retraining order against Zuazo and both these claims were resolved with both restraining orders granted.

So, it's an "allegation," not even an arrest or conviction.

Anything else you'd like to royally **** up before we move on?

  157. P.S., here's a great bit of urinalism from WaPo:

When George Zimmerman followed Trayvon Martin the night of Feb. 26, 2012, he ignored an admonition not to do so from the police dispatcher. The request for his arrest, written by the lead detective, noted that Zimmerman's killing of Trayvon could have been avoided if he'd remained in his vehicle or identified himself "as a concerned citizen." Just what in Zimmerman's past might have led him to take these actions and kill an unarmed teenager with a gunshot to the chest is relevant in this case.

Everything after the second comma in the first sentence is wrong on the facts. In the second sentence, the lead detective shows gross stupidity or willful ignorance. For one thing, the cops shoot people all the time, and most of those shootings "could have been avoided" if the cops just stayed in their vehicles and stopped sticking their noses into other peoples' business. For another, identifying himself as a "concerned citizen" might just as easily have been what triggered Martin to assault Zimmerman; "no snitchin'" For another, it's as likely as not that Martin was already set on his goal of assaulting and beating Zimmerman, and no action on Zimmerman's point this side of brandishing his firearm would have prevented Martin's determined course of criminal behavior. And brandishing a firearm, is IIRC, a crime in Florida. Maybe that's why the lead detective didn't mention the one obvious action that Zimmerman could have taken that would have been likely to stop Trayvon's criminal trajectory?

P.P.S., T should be happy to G**gle up "Witness No. 9" who proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Zimmerman is a sexual predator and a racist.

Trayvon Martin was only 17. He was not sunk. I don't know his age, but if he's not too old and he wants another job like his old one, I bet some municipal official somewhere is thinking Lee would make a pretty good police chief. Hell, he could run for sheriff somewhere nearby based on his performance in this case.

Police Chief with resisting arrest and obstruction of justice convictions...as an adult? Yeah, you're a genius.

    Me

When was Bill Lee charged with resisting arrest or obstruction of justice? You got a source for that?

  167. Oh, and you got at least one of those scores wrong. You've been polishing Tray-tray's knob pretty extensively here; don't sell yourself short, bra.

  168. Oh, you were saying some other guy would make a good police chief. Oh maybe, never heard of him I thought you were talking about your idol Zim. Quite honestly, your posts are generally one note and totally predictable, I usually just read the first sentence than respond, because about 99% of the time, I know what the rest is going to say.

My apologies. But I'd vote for The Spaceman for Police Chief over anyone you think did a good job in this case.

  169. Whim got the previous attempt, I think, so here it is without the question in question:

Yes he was, he served community service and anger management classes, he was originally charged with R.A WITH violence but it was knocked down to a misdemeanor [deceptive speculation removed].

No, he wasn't. You were and are wrong; he wasn't convicted of either charge.

Skip Gates was NOT convicted of Burglary

Right, which makes him roughly as convicted of burglary as Zimmerman is of resisting arrest or obstruction of justice, but that hasn't stopped you from repeatedly asserting just that in Zimmerman's case.

    he avoided conviction

I think that is the operative phrase, here.

Evidences of felatio by Isteve regulars

Have you taken up drinking over poor NLN's fate? Your spelling and reading comprehension have dropped off (even for you), and you're much surlier than you used to be.

That's the whole point: ZIMMERMAN WAS NOT....A FUCKING...COP!

That's not the point. That's totally irrelevant to the point. Read the point I was responding to and the point I made in response to it, until it sinks in.

I you have too many drinks

    Projection?

his stupid, arrogant behavior cost someone his life

You can say and write it as many times as you like, it still won't magically become true.

Martin's behavior cost him his life.

    My apologies.

No big, I was just kinda worried about you. Glad to hear you just aren't paying attention, and haven't become a drunkard.

  170. "Oh, and you got at least one of those scores wrong. You've been polishing Tray-tray's knob pretty extensively here; don't sell yourself short, bra."

I don't remember EVER writing anything positive about Travon Martin, what he was, or what he did. You're using examples today, have a whirl.

  171. "
He's like the stereotype of the tramp who wears a skirt that doesn't cover her butt crack out to a dive bar; complaining about the attention is part of the entertainment value."

For a minute I was picturing an unshaven, ragged man on freight train changing into butt-revealing skirt . now that WOULD be entertaining.
but then I realized, oh -- THAT kind of tramp.

"d BTW, there has not been one instance on this site of my calling Zim a racist. I don't know if he is, and as a matter of fact I'm not even sure I know what that means...I just don't give a shit if someone is racist or not. "

I don't care either, but Zim's brother Robert said George mentored two black youths. The black teacher who said "Hi George" and waved obviously had no prob with George. In fact, George is also like BO's son, as his Grandmom was black.
I noticed that some MSM-lie organ, Huff Post probably, headlined "Robert Zimmerman ... smug .." So absurd I can't recall it all. Aside from the fact Robert was articulate and confident and pointed out Pierce Morgan's irresponsibility (the man was still insisting on the train of events as MSM wanted it and which the trial showed to be false), I just can't see "smug" anywhere on him. It was his calling out of the MSM (Piece Morgan is just one mouthpiece) on its irresponsibility that made HuffPost so vindicative. Calling someone like Zimmerman a "racist", even by Huff Post definitions, makes MSM look as lying and manipulative as it really is, and doesn't anger me. It's too absurd. OTOH, calling the media "irresponsible" cuts too close to the truth. Appearing to be the all-knowing-parent-god-figure is the MSM's currency. Nobody with brains believes CNN, ABC, or NBC, NYT, WaPo, etc. It's actually v. easy to get many people to admit that. Be careful about taking celebrity and politicians' regurgitations seriously. They are like mechanical puppets when it comes to this. What they really think may be quite different, but since they have no character to say so even tactfully, they prove themselves worthless.

GZ instigated it in an act of bravado. I hope there is some sort of punishment, and this is coming from a conservative, not some white guilt liberal."

I don't know whether your a "libera" or "conversative" (a meaningless dichotomy to me), but you are definitely not stellar in reading comprehension. Do you have ADHD?
He did not instigate the attack. The attacker did. Zimmerman just walked behind him briefly, as a good neighborhood watchman should do. He then turned to leave and the attacker came up behind him. The rest is history.
Personally I am of the cowardly safari breed. I look up (certain) blacks, especially when I'm alone and it's dark, as dangerous and according the MSM & many "liberals" (for lack of a better word) not subject to rule of law.
But Zimmerman did not instigate it. You must be either lacking in any comprehension, or, more likely, you're a troll for MSM and like MSM, know exactly what you're doing.
I just wish I knew for why.

  174. You've been servicing Tray-tray orally, that's for sure.

Maybe you can put in a little elbow grease, for once? Line up all the positive things I've said about Zim that justify your statements that he's my "hero," I'm polishing his knob, etc.
