Open Borders promises to reduce cranial capacity 50%

One proposed logo that wasn't deported when the Open Borders Logo contest closed its borders is this one showing how open borders will make us all like Siamese Twins with only one brain for every two bodies, so you won't have to do anymore of that pesky thinking for yourself.

It's also interesting how many of the (sincere) Open Borders logos are, like this one, stillborn swastikas. The Rotating Juggernaut of Doom look is highly attractive to the ideological male mind, no matter what conceits it chooses to publicly endorse.

  1. It will reduce intelligence by way more than 50%.

To start with, one of those craniums is Chicano/a/Latina/o, with an average IQ of about 90. (100+90)/2 = 95, or 47.5% of the IQ of two average Americans. Then apparently they will be spinning rapidly in a centrifuge, causing all the blood to move outward to their feet. God knows how many brain cells will have died by the time the centrifuge stop - billions and billions, as Carl Sagan might have said.

I'd say its already here, based upon the nonsense that oozes from academia, like this gem:

Occam's butterknife at work again. It just doesn't make compute at all to him how high IQ whites could possibly do a better job at giving enlightened responses in public to questions about the Narrative than lower IQ whites, but be less likely in private to support PC policies like school busing and efforts to integrate neighborhoods.

Seems about as confused as the perennial NYT writer who just can't understand how incarceration rates could go up while crime goes down.

    Liberalism will make ya stupid.

I think it's the Red State politicians and the Blue State politicians being spun on Sheldon Adelson's Wheel of Fortune until they put their heads together and become of one mind on open borders.

Just looking at that dopey design makes my head spin.

Reminds me of what my late Dad used to say to fools, jerks, and jackasses: "If you had half a brain, you'd be dangerous."

  8. Steve, you have posted a lot of stuff on the open borders lobby pushing for unlimited immigration. But there is another immigration story that requires some attention: this is the story of people (their absolute numbers are still quite small) giving up their American passports. They are not all multimillionaires trying to escape the IRS. Some are just upper middle class people earning well and getting screwed by the IRS. Here is an interesting story: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323585604579007860126146566.html?mod=e2fb

I think this is an important story because I can see the very affluent and super-affluent Asians/Latins increasingly choosing not to take US citizenship given the increasingly draconian tax code and the way in which this gets enforced. In fact, given the number of first world countries that have citizenship connected with high levels of business investment (Canada and Australia particularly), why should any sensible Asian or Latin American with either a high net worth or high earning capacity choose to get American citizenship? Does this the mean that America really ends up attracting only the dregs?

  9. Thing is, even if the people who don't (or won't) accept differences in aveage IQ between ethnic groups there's also differences within ethnic groups.

So even if all ethnic groups had the same average IQ then importing millions from the bottom 1/3 of *any* group will dramatically reduce the average IQ of the recieving country.

There really is *no* good reason to allow *any* unskilled immigration into a modern country. It cannot possibly be a net benefit to the country as a whole.

  10. Speaking of open borders, CA ranks as the worst state in the union to do business:

  11. It's not obvious why business so desperately wants to bring cheap labor here. After all, you can always just go to where the cheap labor is. Maybe businesses really, really don't like investing in poor countries. They would much rather set up a factory in the US with Mexican workers than pay those same workers 50% less in Mexico. Remember that giant sucking sound? Whatever happened to that? The flip side of "flooding the US with cheap labor" is that some countries may simply be too screwed up for business. All that capital looking for a home decided that the only decent house in the neighborhood is the US. According to what I've read in the Economist, we chould all be working for an Indonesian multinational at this point (Homer reading the Economist: "Hmm, Indonesia is at a turning point.") But it hasn't worked out like that. Instead we're importing people from places like Indonesia to work in multinationals here in the US. I don't think that was ever the original plan.

Legendary Israeli basketball coach Pini Gershon says mocha--mulattos--are 'wiser'--more intelligent--than 'deep blacks'.

No wonder American Jews recruited and coached mocha Obama or mochabama to the championship. He was more promising material than less smart dark blacks 'off the streets'.

  16. Whats so risible about the Open Borders logo group is that they arent rich business owners they are sad little libertarians who actually believe. They are fortunate enough to have Bryan Caplan to tell them what to think though. (Caplan? Hmm?)

I think there are a few reasons. First, the executives don't want to go there, and you can't run much of a business remotely. Someone has to go oversee things if you want the work to get done. Second, bringing them here on a guest-worker visa actually gives you more control over them. They can't quit and go work for your competitor like they might back home, and once they've made the commitment to come here, it's harder to back out. Third, we have the infrastructure here to support whatever you're doing, whether you need high-speed Internet or over-the-road trucking. You might be able to get those things there, and they might even be cheaper, but it's not as certain and it won't be as reliable.

Those are a few reasons. They want the third-world wages without the whole third-world experience, basically. That means bringing the people here.

  19. The median price of a single-family home—the figure at which half the homes sold for more and half for less—rose 12.9 percent to $192,000. The average price increased 13.8 percent year-over-year to $268,085. Both represent the highest prices ever recorded.
All housing segments experienced gains in June except for those priced under $80,000. Homes selling between $250,000 and $1
I just love this Houston's pricing is getting to the national average and increase Hispanic and Black populations will in 10 years get white people to start heading for Salt Lake Utah and even Denver Colorado which has less blacks than Houston, yeah.

  20. Steve, if you want to say you find the swastika aesthetically appealing, just say so. :D

I've always appreciated it for its power to make people look like idiots, and thus can't make it far past its symbolic power, to its aesthetics. I suppose it's pretty cool-looking.

  21. Kinda forgot to look at the hivemind logo. Jesus, that's creepy. Openly creepy. Unlike the swastika, its evil creepiness is baked right into the aesthetic cake.

More immigrants, more demand for yard sales and old, useless junk!

Not all businesses can relocate. Restaurants, hotels, landscaping, construction etc., are service oriented and must operate in the local market. So they want the cheap labor to make more profit because, unlike manufacturers, they cannot locate overseas if they want to serve this market.

This is a very Chestertonian observation; I think I remember Chesterton writing at length (in several different books) about the connection between the Ouroboros (a symbol which depicts a snake swallowing its own tail) and various forms of self-defeating crackpot mysticism and pseudo-rationality. Such circular symbols have always been very popular with various Gnostic sects and religions.

  27. it will increase rectal capacity 50% though as our leader's craniums are inserted fully into their own rectums.

  28. "It's not obvious why business so desperately wants to bring cheap labor here."

Partly it's industries that require the workers to be local e.g restaurants, construction etc but increasinly i think you're right they're bringing globalization back home.

There's a reason labor is cheap in some countries - it's harder to do business amongst all the corruption and inefficiency. What they want is third world wages in a first world environment.

Except of course in the process of creating those third world wages in the US they'll destroy the first world environment.

  29. Open borders for every country in the world except Israel.

nb I'm not against Israel having sensible immigration policies. I only point it out to show that Jewish media and academic pundits don't believe open borders are good for the majority population.

If they believed it they'd want Israel to have open borders too - and they don't.

So they want open borders for the US even though they don't believe it is good for the majority.

The irony being that as they import more cheap workers to this local market, they degrade the local market. Once most of the local workforce cannot afford these services its the end of the line.
