Netanyahu to award Bloomberg $1 million "Jewish Nobel"

I know that lately the news often sounds like I'm just making it up for my own personal amusement, but, honestly, this was published by the New York Times 46 minutes ago:
Bloomberg Is First to Receive a $1 Million Jewish Award
By EMMA G. FITZSIMMONS
Published: October 20, 2013
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will be honored on Monday as the first recipient of a $1 million award that organizers are calling the “Jewish Nobel Prize.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel will present the award, named the Genesis Prize, to Mr. Bloomberg at a ceremony in Jerusalem in May. The award, established by a charity founded by Russian Jewish billionaires, aims to honor “exceptional people whose values and achievements will inspire the next generations of Jews.”
The announcement of the inaugural award will be made at a news conference in New York on Monday. The charity, the Genesis Philanthropy Group, has financed an endowment of $100 million to pay for the prize for years to come. ...
The Genesis Philanthropy Group was created as a foundation that promotes Jewish identity among Russian-speaking Jews worldwide. Mr. Bloomberg is the grandson of immigrants from Russia and what is now Belarus.
The foundation was set up by three of Russia’s so-called oligarchs: Mikhail M. Fridman, Pyotr Aven and German Khan.

German Khan?
The prize is administered in partnership with the Israeli government, and is open to those who have succeeded in various fields, including science, the arts, business and diplomacy, the organizers said.
The charity’s leaders have high hopes for the prize: they want it to be as prestigious as other major international awards like the Nobel Prizes and the MacArthur awards.

This award, created by three men who robbed Russia silly, inspiring the next generation...

  3. Is there really a need for a Jewish Nobel? Especially since Jews since to be winning most Nobel Prizes these days.

That's a pretty intimidating name. You probably don't want to have a business relationship with someone named that. You're probably going to get screwed.

"He has been an active supporter of Jewish initiatives in Russia and Europe. Khan makes large contribution to the work of the European Jewish Fund, a non-profit organization aimed at developing European Jewry and promoting tolerance and reconciliation on the continent. He is a leading member of the Russian Jewish Congress.[2]"

Excellent! Now Monty Bloomberg and his Smithers can have a money fight

  11. You're right, you just can't make up stuff like this. And despite this conflation of ethnicity, money and blurred national loyalties no one is supposed to see an international agenda. Speaking of which, does Bloomberg have dual citizenship? Perhaps he really doesn't need it.

  15. If you transliterate the Russian version of Herman Cohen into Latin letters you'll get German Kogan, not German Khan. The guy in question is surnamed Хан in Cyrillic. That's exactly how Russians spell the Khan part of Genghis Khan. I have no idea where he got that surname.

Depends on the context. If I'm getting a divorce, I want a lawyer named Herman Cohen. If I'm pillaging a country, I want a guy named German Khan.

Хан is the Russian version of the surname Hahn, which is used mostly by Germans but also by some Jews.

  18. By the way, history does record some Germanic Khans. The Viking rulers of early medieval Russia sometimes used that title. They must have picked it up from the Khazars, who must have picked it up from points further east. While some Khazars did convert to Judaism, the words Khan and Cohen are not related.

I imagine it's the same surname as "Kahn", which is the Germanized form of "Cohen". Just spelled slightly differently.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kahn

"Kahn is a German surname. Kahn is the German word that means, in informal contexts, small boat. It is also a Germanized form of the Jewish surname Cohen, another variant of which is Cahn."

This is incorrect. The standard Russian transliteration of Hahn would be Ган. If you transliterate that back into the Latin alphabet, you'll get Gan. If you perform the same operations on Hitler, you'll get Gitler. Hamilton will produce Gamilton, Hampshire Gempshir, Hilbert Gilbert, etc. Russian mathematicians talk about Gilbert spaces all the time.

And yes, the Russian Wikipedia page on Otto Hahn calls him Ган (Gan).

  25. Steve back back in 2006 you quoted a journalist named Warsh as saying of the Harvard team that helped turn over the russian economy to Jewish Oligarchs, "Let me stress that there is absolutely no question of actual money ever changing hands -- of bribery."

I believe that one of the accused the was a Summers colleague and confidant sent to Russia to "Help" with privatization. The Harvard two of the Harvard team made inside investments in the assets they were helping to privatize.

Consequently, the US launched fraud charges that cost Harvard 26 million. Yet Summers stuck by his friend despite Harvard's obvious complicity in looting Russia.

So perhaps Warsh was premature. Perhaps the payment was just delayed.

  26. I don't doubt that German Khan is Jewish, by the way. All I'm saying is that his surname (Хан in Cyrillic) doesn't look like it's related to Cohen. The similarity between the two is a product of transliteration into the Latin alphabet.

Khan seems to have been a very widely used title for tribals leaders all over the eurasian steppes, even before the mongols really made it popular.

  33. Some very funny comments here. Ashkenazi Jews are, of course, part-Mongolic. If you just see the swathe of Eurasia that the Huns under Attila plundered and conquered and see where Khazaria was, it is obvious. There are some Jews that have an obvious phenotypic Mongolic imprint and others that look "wholly Caucasian" but I would be very surprised if a big chunk of the Ashkenazi Jewish population anywhere on earth did not show considerable Mongolic (read: Eurasian) DNA.

Eat your heart out Moses, they are descendants of Attila.

Good point. He doesnt because he can turn up at any Israeli embassy or Israel itself and he'll be handed one.

In a sense the dual citizenship thing is a red herring, most jews can get Israeli citizenship whenever they want.

My guess is that the name was inspired by Thomas Pynchon's very clever book, The Crying of Lot 49 ...

Genghis Cohen – The most eminent philatelist in the Los Angeles area ....

My guess is that restaurant in LA is the only one in the world named after a fictional philatelist. I could be wrong though, there might have been a prominent stamp collector named Chuck E. Cheese or something.

  38. This so-called charity is the most monstrous thing to ever land on my desk, and I'll see to it to have this shameful organization liquidated in the next 24 hours.

To understand my rage, just read their mission statement:

    Our Mission

Foxtrot Philanthropy Group’s mission is to develop and enhance a sense of White identity among English-speaking Whites worldwide.

We are committed to supporting and launching projects, programming, and institutions that are focused on ensuring that White culture, heritage, and values are preserved in English-speaking White communities across the globe.

We believe that informed and engaged English-speaking Whites will contribute to the cultural enrichment of their communities, strengthen the White community and support the betterment of humanity.

    Our Values

Our work is inspired by the White values and traditions that have sustained the White people and advanced human civilization for millennia.

FPG believes that the positive contribution of the White community to the history of mankind is not limited to the distant past. Adhering to White values and taking great pride in the achievements of the White people, we are confident that the development and strengthening of White identity will be one of the foundations to ensuring the continuity, unity and diversity of world cultures.

As we move into the 21st century, we envision a pluralistic White identity – a source of exciting possibilities for a diverse White people and for continuing the task of perfecting the world.

White identity and continuity has suffered dramatic lapses in the English-speaking communities. The legacy of a totalitarian past has left vast numbers of English-speaking Whites profoundly disengaged from their White heritage.

FPG recognizes that the past is giving way to a new, proud generation of English-speaking Whites, a generation that looks to restore its White identity, celebrate its diversity and renew its spirit.

Foxtrot values a universal pluralistic vision of the global White community and seeks to engage English-speaking Whites in White tradition, culture and values to the benefit of their communities, and to the benefit of the entire White people.

Very similar to Nixon when he volunteered, "I am not a crook."

  40. but I would be very surprised if a big chunk of the Ashkenazi Jewish population anywhere on earth did not show considerable Mongolic (read: Eurasian) DNA

I guess you'll have to get used to being surprised. Dienekes Pontikos' Dodecad Project website has results of ADMIXTURE (computer program) analyses that include Ashkenazi samples. A very small (1-2%) East Asian/Northeast Asian component shows up, but nothing like what you have written. In the last three years, several large studies of Ashkenazi Jewish population genetics have been published, most recently one by M. Costa et al. in Nature. Only one paper, by Elhaik, even suggested results consistent with the Khazar hypothesis, and as Razib and Dienekes both pointed out at the time, the author's assumptions in choosing reference populations threw into question his interpretations of the results.

  41. But Nixon wasn't a crook. So I'm going to assume that most probably what you really mean is that when someone makes an accusation about Jews well darn it it's damn near gospel because shut up that's why. My bitterness will be vindicated.

On another note I think personality tests should include a component where that Conan the Barbarian quote is listed followed by a multiple choice response based on ones reaction to it. The kind of people who get that excited tingling a la Chris Matthews are the ones that shoot up Naval Yard's when their Russian mail order blow up doll shows up with a D cup rather than a DD cup.

  47. "The name Gherman Titov (with a hard g) comes to my mind. Perhaps this is a common Russian name adopted by some Russian Jews?"

German is simply the Russian version of Herman. The Latin H is often transliterated into Russian as Г, which is pronounced more or less like the g in get. As I said before, Hamilton becomes Gamilton, Hampshire becomes Gempshir, etc. I wouldn't call German a common Russian name, but ones does see it from time to time.

  48. >I'm going to assume that most probably what you really mean is that when someone makes an accusation about Jews well darn it it's damn near gospel because shut up that's why. My bitterness will be vindicated.<

Why assume? I stated it clearly: in my experience, when a Jewish person states explicitly that he is not guilty of a misdeed, and this statement is volunteered unsolicited or comes right out of the blue, he is guilty. This is a characteristic quirk I've observed many times. (It is not limited to Jews but I've seen it elsewhere only rarely - the familiar example is Nixon's famous statement, and yes, Dick was a crook.) "We're not evil here." "I would never lie about that." "We are not trying to make you look bad." "We are not betraying your interests." "We are not x." In the case of gentiles, such statements are lies more than half the time; in the case of Jews, 100%. What else can I say? After decades of having the same experiences, one must begin to entertain the idea of trusting one's own lying eyes and ears. You may call anecdotes bitterness, but once people have a certain number of anecdotes, these are called "data." It has to be my jealousy of all the Nobel Prizes you've won.

So, how do you plan to run demographic movement into your Pioneering Little Europes? (to which, by the way, I have no objection)

You'll end up giving automatic citizenship after a medium-level screening process, same like we do here. There's no realistic choice.

PS: it is ==not== terribly difficult for nnon-Jews to get a 9what you call a) "Green Card" here. There's plenty here.

Learn supermarket Hebrew, do your duty when conscripted - you will fit right into the masses here.
