I am suffering insight overload while grinding through the Mitchell Heisman manifesto. One of his terms which I think deserves promulgation is "Omega Altruism". Once you recognize its practitioners, their behavior becomes explainable and predictable, to an almost scientific degree.
Did Mr. Spengler miss the big Atlantic article this week praising polyamory?
This does raise an interesting question: The DSM has classified trannyism as a mental disorder, the same way homosexuality was classified as such until the seventies. This is good for trannys because then they can claim their health plans cover their, uh, surgeries. But you can't really get full acceptance if you're mentally ill. How do they deal with this conundrum?
"Why does the U.S. military still define gender nonconformity as a disorder?"
Yeah, I agree. It's perfectly normal for a guy to go to a doctor and say 'cut off my perfectly healthy dick' or a woman to go to a doctor and say 'cut off my perfectly healthy tits'.
Btw, transgender folks must believe something is abnormal and not right about them IF they want to take radical measures to change themselves. So, shouldn't this question be asked of them? "Why do you feel that your body is so wrong that you wanna undergo radical surgery to be someone else?"
The very core of transgenderism is a sense of biological disorder, i.e. "I was born in the wrong body."
Now, I believe a female mind can be inside a male body and vice versa. Even so, the humanist ideal should be to accept what you are and make the best of it. Besides, most transgender people look ridiculous when they 'change' themselves. Just look at Pritzker guy. It's hilarious.
Have Pritzker guy as 'woman' return to the military and have him promoted to 5 star general. And then send him to the Middle East to command the American troops. Sure way to win international respect.
Has anyone actually given thought to the fact that if we ever do get into another serious war against a real opponent that not only are delusions of minorities being better soldiers than straight white men going to have to uncomfortably crash against the walls of reality, but that there could be some serious consequences even for the elites if the war is lost. Hell, even if high standards were imposed on the minorities to bring them more up to snuff, our enemies are going to be seriously emboldened seeing a bunch of trans*queers, 110 pound women, and disabled/age-discriminated/emotionally disturbed soldiers coming their way.
"Why does the U.S. military still define gender nonconformity as a disorder?"
I don't know, maybe because you know, they might actually have to win if they do get into a fight? And that peoples' lives and national interests might take precedence over hurting the feelings of a very small percentage of people suffering from a bizzare delusion and unable to accept reality? I guess in this day and age that this line of thinking is becoming increasingly rare among the elites and heads of media?
Oswald Spengler said... What front opens next in the cultural Marxist left's perpetual crusade against heteronormativity?
Maybe WW WP--War against white privilege. The left could campaign against white people having any more children, instead pressuring them to adopt non-white children in order to hasten population replacement in all Western countries. It's already got a good start among the volunteer SWPL army, just need to make it mandatory among the general population.
I think the aikido approach could be useful here. The supply of trans-wackjobs is fairly limited, so let's by all means offer them our full support as a cover and distraction while we cease affirmative action for melanin-distinguished folk. We can suffer the Transylvanians to pass by while we stifle our laughter,* then when the former beneficiaries of our politically-correct largess complain that we don't love them any more, we'll just accuse them of trans-phobia and trans-bashing!

I think part of it is that countries that are "dull" don't draw much interest.
America as a whole just... not sure what the right word is, well it's just not into India.
It's a huge country both geographically and population wise. But how much coverage do you see of it in the media? I understand there are all sorts of interesting things going on there, such as a decades long "Marxist" insurgency that just can't be crushed (I also understand the politics is just a proxy for ethnic and class strife. Yes, "class strife" does exist.)
I'd wager that India is not a popular destination for reporters or Ivy League State Department people.
Too hot, too dirty, too smelly. Just not cool. At least Brazil has Carnival.
"I wonder when LGBT issues will be used as a pretext for foreign interventions"
I bet it will happen sooner than we might think, and if it does, I do wonder how many US soldiers will finally wake up and realize they're not fighting on the side of "good".
However, it's an interesting world out there right now. It does seem as though a lot of countries are seeing what the homolobby has done to the West and taking appropriate measures.

That was Machiavellian Neocons. Conditions/mores/treatment for women was merely the excuse.
At the half of the Clippers-Thunder game announcer Mike Tirico started plugging an upcoming ESPN documentary; the dopey newsmagazine music, the bland promo pitch for the docu subject's "interesting" history, and finally a giant graphic on screen reading "SPECIAL REPORT: THE N WORD" were when taken together too much to keep me from bursting into involuntary uncontrollable laughter. I do pity all the urbane SWPLs who can't find such similar entertainment in the willfully absurd headlines for modern "think pieces."

Always wondered about that. (South Park did this one quite nicely.) I mean, yes, I agree you can get stuck with a female brain in a male body. It's an abnormality of sexual differentiation and no more immoral than a cleft lip or a club foot. But why not just be gay and be done with it? Tomboys have it easy, and men can be drag queens in some parts of the country. Why all that painful surgery?
There were certain feminists who were railing against the Taliban long before 911. I recall a 7th Heaven episode that dealt with the question way back in 1999.
It wasn't really a neocon thing, mostly celebrities or semi-celebs like Mavis Leno; many of Steve's wannabe-Ukrainian readers are probably too young to remember such trivia of 2000-2001. After the detonation of the Bamiyan buddhas there was a brief vogue among Congressional Democrats & fellow travelers for calling the GOP Senate leaders "Taliban" and "mullahs." Then Jeffords defected so that Tom Daschle became the majority leader, and Limbaugh dubbed him "Mullah Daschle" (after 9/11 the Joe Lockharts and Paul Begalas of TV talk accused Limbaugh of hate speech/incitement over this epithet they'd been using in a prior news cycle). Anyway it's all down the memory hole now -- remember, Afghanistan was the good war that Bush had neglected. Then "liberal realist" Obama came along and won it.

Why does the U.S. military still define gender nonconformity as a disorder?
ReplyDeletePerhaps because it's not a newspaper that operates without editors.
Really, could a newspaper editor not know that "disorder" is a perfect descriptor?
Disorder -- A lack of order or regular arrangement; confusion.
Why does the U.S. military still define gender nonconformity as a disorder?
ReplyDeleteYeah, haven't they heard that all the cool people stopped believing that, like, months ago at least? Didn't they get the memo?

The cultural marxist Durkheim developed a theory that lack of normalcy in a society could trigger a suicidal state he called "anomie."
This theory is being tested.

Given the nature of this country, and of it's government, perhaps a desire to join the US military should be considered a mental disorder.
