More from that wonderful Charles Blow column in the NYT, "The Masculine Mistake," about how having sisters and daughters makes men more Republican:
The Republican Party is in danger of becoming a man cave of cavemen and the women who can abide them.
The House speaker, John Boehner, has gone so far as to have sensitivity training for Republican members because, as he put it, “some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be.”
And the masculinity shaming has not been confined to Republican men. Some Republican women have been equal-opportunity offenders.
At the height of the anthrax scare in 2001, Ann Coulter wrote a piece for the conservative site Townhall titled “The Eunuchs Are Whining,” in which she referenced liberals as “mincing pantywaists” and proclaimed that “women — and I don’t mean to limit that to the biological sense — always become hysterical at the first sign of trouble.”
This last-bastion-of-bare-chestedness is a politically ill-fated one in a country quickly evolving to value all of its citizens equally.
We can tell how fast America is evolving by the fact that nobody will bother watching that tackle football game scheduled for today. Whoever heard of Richard Sherman? And notice how athletes and movie stars are much slimmer and less brawny today than they were back in the primitive macho 1950s when muscleheads like Jimmy Stewart ruled the screen.
Anyway, here's the most Recommended comment to this column, the one that gets to the heart of what's motivating Charles Blow's readers:
Rima Regas
Democrats need to drive home the fact, and it is a fact, that Republicans have been waging a war on the self-esteem of a growing number of segments of the US population
Here's my graph of who voted for Obama and who voted for Romney based on Reuters-Ipsos' panel of over 40,000 voters:
I read maybe a few dozen NYT pieces a year, including some of the comments. And I totally know who Rima Regas is. I think she comments on every article at NYT.
ReplyDeleteThe House speaker, John Boehner, has gone so far as to have sensitivity training for Republican members because, as he put it, “some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be.”
ReplyDeleteEveryone with a pair of cojones should march right out of the Republican Party into a 3rd Party in 2014. Let Boehner lead a party of girly-men, Chamber of Commerce henchmen and Beltway slime-molds down the toilet where they belong.
Good news: White, Temple Mormons(the devout kind of Mormons) are averaging about 4+ kids per woman. Republicans don't have to end immigration, they just have to stall/reduce it enough to let Mormon demography do it's thing.
ReplyDeleteBad news: The Republicans will never think of this.
There may be an element of group threat in the very evidence you cite, Steve. The guys of the '50s WERE hard motherfuckers. They had lived through depression and war and didn't need to be hyper-muscled to prove it. Part of what you say I think is correct, the "end of men" has been drastically oversold. The pushback has only begun. But a group confident in its place and power doesn't fetishize the hypertrophic extreme as we do now with "ideal men". What man with any sort of self-esteem at all would shrivel his genitals to make his biceps bigger?
ReplyDeleteI remarked on the other thread about the manifest incoherent gibberishness of Gelman's blathering about this, but I didn't take the time to single out and credit the poster who hit the nail on the head [simply because it was so blaringly obvious to me at the time]:
ReplyDeleteSelection bias: men with sisters lived necessarily in families that had a fertility above 1.3 on average, which implies republican
The last numbers that I saw were 1.47 for the libtards, but if it's since disintegrated to only 1.30, then that wouldn't surprise me in the least.
Anyway, it's obvious to anyone who has spent much more than a day or two in the HBD-o-Sphere and the Dark Enlightenment that selecting for families which have both a son and a daughter [both a brother and a sister] implies selecting for families with a Total Fertility Rate of 2.0 or higher, which, in turn, implies selecting for GOP families.
Again, that's simply obvious to all of us - which is why I didn't take the time to remark on it in the last thread.
I wanna remark on the other phenomenon, though - the families with only a SINGLE SON - the boy who grows up without any sisters.
We've been talking a lot lately over at the Chateau about this question of "assortive mating", and of course we're always talking about the underlying sociopathy of the "Natural Alpha", and I've been trying to warn folks over there that this manna-from-heaven "assortive mating" might not necessarily have the consequences that we think that it's going to have.
In particular, if you get two highly edumakated, highly credentialed "Type A" personalities, in Mom and Dad, from top-tier schools, with "top-tier" degrees [JD, MBA, etc], then you're probably already strongly selecting for Sociopathic Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
And if you take that underlying naturing, and layer in over top of it the reality of the nurturing in an only-child household, then the toxicity of the resulting nature/nurture mix is very likely to produce a monster.
If anyone here is unfamiliar with Cleckley's work, then I strongly urge you to read the available online chapter which his estate has made available for us:
19. Stanley
We are probably in the process of both genetically breeding more Stanleys, and - with the Frankfurt School working so ferociously now to bombard the children of the West with incessant 24x7 nihilistic cultural poisoning - also nurturing and fostering and subsidizing and cultivating the personalities of so many more Stanleys, that we are in the process of unleashing a small army of psychopaths upon the world.
If you doubt me, then here is an older Youtube video which gives a quick overview of the cultural and political proclivities of some recent American mass-murderers.
And here is the breaking news from Connecticut about what Adam Lanza was really obsessed with when he walked into that school in Sandy Hook.
If any of you are historically minded, then this sort of anti-civilizational nihilistic hyper-psychopathy ought to remind you of the likes of Berkman, Goldman, Luxemburg, Trotsky, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao.
And then you wonder why their cultural offspring get so Dark in the online comments sections whenever one of their rags even mentions Christianity...

ReplyDeleteWhat is ugly is the commercial. It is promoted by Jewish elites to promote black men conquering white women and white women turning into sexual-racial traitors.
Jews know that blacks are bigger and stronger than whites. Jews also know that women are prone to surrender sexually to bigger and stronger men.
Jews want to humiliate and destroy white male psychology and white pride.
How would Jews feel if white gentiles controlled advertising in Israel and promoted images of Arab men sexually conquering Jewish women who produce Arab babies from their Jewish vagina?
The Jewish agenda against the white race is ugly, vengeful, deranged, and genocidal.
Jews say whites should surrender their land to third world immigration, surrender elite power to Jewish overlords, and surrender white girls to black muscle and penises.
Fight the ugly Jewish power that feels contempt for white pride, unity, power, and beauty.
Btw, what's wrong with black women? Are they so ugly and gross that black men should go with white women?
"quickly evolving to value all of its citizens equally."
ReplyDeletequickly evolving to value all but 1% of its citizens at zero
"Other orientations" at 31%. Trannies vote surprisingly conservative, relatively speaking.
ReplyDeleteRima, Socrates and walterrhett have to be the most prolific commentators on the NY Times and generally are the most recommended. They tow the far Left line 100% of the time attacking the GOP as evil racists. Of course this is red meat to the NY Times readership.
ReplyDeleteWell, it used to be a conservative principle that all citizens are equal before the law but plainly not equal in ability or other personal factors. This principle always hurt the feelings of vain and disturbed people, I guess, but we are hearing a lot more of their crying nowadays.
ReplyDeleteThey cry because they're short or tall or Jewish or Asian or stupid or gifted or whatever, and feel that Father (the archetype or avatar) is not paying enough attention to them, is withholding his love and largess from them, and boy are they angry about it.
Last election cycle the supposed 'war on women' trope was being widely promoted by Dems; rallies were held against this supposed onslaught. In reality it's a war against men, specifically white men, and sensitive types like Boehner feel the need to assist in all this. What else can you expect from a guy who cries at the drop of a hat?
ReplyDeleteThe preening steroid guys of today aren't anything compared to the non-musclehead men of the past who actually accomplished things and displayed a thousand times more courage than any mere ball player. That trash talking football player of recent note is just a hysterical thirteen year old girl inside the body of a bulked-up male; the exterior appearance throws people off, masking the inadequacy of the interior being.
How does Romney only get 86% of the Mormon vote, but Obama gets 97% of the black vote which is a much more dispersed population, geographically and economically? Say what you will about blacks, but at least they know enough not to commit cultural suicide, unlike dumb-ass whitey.

The only places in the US with above 10% Mormon populations are Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and American Samoa (WTF?). Being that far behind and so dispersed, I don't see how they can compete with Hispanic reckless fecundity outside of Utah. Even if they could, I would bet that a significant and increasing number of them, with their missionary zeal, will lean towards "helping the poor" and will go Democrat.
If 14% of Mormons did not vote for one of their own, when will they ever vote Republican. When will they will ever get a chance to vote in a Mormon President again? The 14% blew it. They must be typical white self-haters. I would expect that number to grow as the Mormon population grows such that they regress to the white self-destructive mean.
Why should I take anyone seriously named Blow?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous mentions the curious case of Stanley in the context of psychopathy or some such.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it also seems to contain information that allows us to speculate about what deficiency Stanley had in his neural makeup. It would seem that he lacked an adequate theory of mind in so far as he was unable to put himself in other people's shoes and understand his behavior from their perspective ...

ReplyDelete"Everyone with a pair of cojones should march right out of the Republican Party into a 3rd Party in 2014."
starting to think so.
this is the most certain way to get the democrat elected - but that's going to happen anyway, so why bother voting republican?
make it known, make it public, that you hate the republican party, that you deliberately did not vote for them. heck, i'm thinking about showing up at protests and gatherings in october and november, with signs and banners, hoping to talk people out of walking into the booth and voting republican.
we're gonna get whatever the democrats want now. that's assured. that's certain. at least we can let the republicans know we abandoned them.

Preach it, sister! The Republicans have been waging war on the self-esteem of us anti-immigrationists for some time now. Near as I can tell, the only self-esteem the GOP is concerned about is that of its large campaign donors.
That article about the CT shooter is chilling.
ReplyDeleteLiberalism is a social, not an intellectual phenomenon. That's what is meant when Republicans don't "get it." In one sense, the critics are right. We keep trying to answer with content, data, facts, but they are living in a world of impressions, style, fashionableness. Some politicians say things that feel right to them, others say things that don't feel right.
ReplyDeleteIt's deplorable, but it's political reality. Liberals know how to manage impressions and spin better than conservatives. Not that we don't also do it, and also stoop to emotional rather than logical appeals. Just different ones.
Look at the groups in the Democratic coalition and notice how easy most of them are to manipulate. We have some also, but we start at a disadvantage.
Rima Regas needs a life. And a husband. With a name like "Rima", I would suggest looking for eligible bachelors in thisaugust family.
ReplyDeleteForget Rima. Does Charles Blow have any daughters we can marry off to Steve Jobs's son?
ReplyDeleteBoehner is a tool. Republicans are too sensitive, if anything.
ReplyDeleteOT: According to Taki mag, this "Dark Enlightenment"--which you apparently are, wittingly or unwittingly, a part of--is starting to get some mainstream attention.
ReplyDeleteSo, before you guys become too well known, how 'bout considering a name change? For one, the term "Dark Enlightenment" sounds bizarre and misleading; it suggests that you guys are proponents of Enlightenment ideas who simply draw darker conclusions from them. Also, the label "neoreactionary," while not quite as bad, is not so good either, because it's unclear how reactionary these "neoreactionaries" actually are.
"Alternative Right" is an appropriate title if you don't mind stealing it from the website by that name, though. But my favorite suggestion, which also borrows from the names of musical genres, is "indie right." It fits, since you guys are politically independent from the maintream, are not affiliated with any big-time companies or labels, and sometimes give off hipsterish or nerdy vibes.
Any thoughts?

Anyone here who thinks that Third Party Politics is a viable option for White Americans is engaging in magical thinking. Halting and reversing the open and deliberate of policy of race-rplacement can not be done through the Beltway. The situation is far worse than anybody realizes.
ReplyDeleteIf the open and deliberate policy of race-replacement is driven by MEGA-CORPORATE CEO Greed, than any Immigration Restrictionist Third Party that does not have a deep analysis of Corporate Power, and simultaneously, a framework for focusing White Populist Rage against MEGA-Corporate Power, is doomed to fail.
An example of a dead end would be Jared Taylor for POTUS. In Jared Taylor's most recent American Renaissance video..."Race and Economic Inequality"..Jared Taylor starts out stating enthusiastically that ulti-billionaire Bill Gates represents the economic natural order of things in America...which is Economic Inequality. I find this kind of stuff highly repellant. Bill Gates is race-replacement enthusiast Number 1...and he has the poltical power to own American Labor Policy. This gives him-as a consequence-demigod life and death power over millions of White Americans.
Larger Point:stop looking for Third Party DEAR LEADERS..for they will always disappoint you.

ReplyDeleteThere's so much controversy about NOT ENOUGH BLACK QUARTERBACKS but how come there is no brouhaha about NOT ENOUGH BLACK CHEERLEADERS in a sport that is overwhelmingly black?
Same with NBA? Most cheerleaders are white(many are blonde), and there are even Asians(even though there are no Asian men in football).
Is it because the Liberal elites like the image/idea of black stud athletes being cheered on and served by blonde white girls?
Since it promotes interracism, jungle-feverism, and the pussification of the white boys who are reduced to watching white girls cheer for black studs, I guess it's not an issue that most cheerleaders are white and cheering for black stud athletes.
White race, a total disgrace.
Time for some reality checks about Mormons / Utah as bastions or saviors of white people.

Read the whole thing for the numbers on where Utah is and where it's going demographically.
' New U.S. Census Bureau estimates released Thursday show that population growth among Utah minorities zoomed twice as fast as for whites between 2011 and 2012 - up 2.7 percent compared with 1.2 percent.
' Minorities accounted for a third of the 40,940 total new residents added to Utah in 2012.
' If current trends continue, minorities could outnumber whites in Utah perhaps around 2050 — with that transition happening as early as 2035 in the nation as a whole and perhaps in places such as Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Ogden and Midvale,
' "The cohort of kids coming up will see a very different Utah. It's unfolding fairly rapidly in just this generation," she said. "It's a very different world they are growing up in than the old very homogenous one."
' New census estimates said that in 2012, the white population in Utah grew by 1.2 percent. At the same time, the black population grew by 5.2 percent; the Asian community by 4.8 percent; Pacific Islander, 3.5 percent; Latino, 2.5 percent; and American Indian, 1.9 percent.
' That growth in local minority communities was faster than national averages.
' But Perlich said much of the current, more rapid growth among Utah minorities has its roots in rapid immigration during the 1990s and 2000s before the recession hit. That trend brought many people who are now young adults having babies at higher rates than whites.'

"Say what you will about blacks, but at least they know enough not to commit cultural suicide, unlike dumb-ass whitey." - Most areas where blacks actually live have whites vote as a solid phalanx to keep them out of power.
ReplyDeleteA third party is all but pointless. Conservatives have a party - the Republican Party. It's simply up to us to reclaim it. The only viable use for a third party is to cast protest votes, as I did in 2008 rather than vote for McCain. If conservatives aren't strong enough to capture the GOP, which only requires about half of registered Republicans, then we aren't strong enough to create a meaningful third party.
ReplyDeleteGreat line - 'muscleheads like Jimmy Stewart'.
ReplyDeleteAs long term readers of this blog may remember, I really don't care if athletes take steroids. I'm going to turn on the Superbowl as soon as I finish typing this comment and I expect that most of the guys on the field will be juiced up.
I don't care.
But I do think we should have testing for Hollywood actors. It seems as if in every film nowadays the hero gratuitously takes off his shirt and displays his six pack.
Probably the worst offender was the pseudo-Greek epic '300'. It was 'six packs on parade' - a virtual Busby Berkley extravaganza of of ripped male tummies.
In the remake of 'Total Recall' I was confused when we had Colin Farrell for no good reason strip to the waist and show off his recently acquired belly muscles. Then I remembered he was trying to fill Arnold Schwarzenegger's shoes - or rather his cummerbund.
I took two sections of weight lifting simultaneously in college. I lifted weight at various health clubs for years. I could always do hundreds of sit ups. But I never had a six pack like I now see on every stinky second rate screen hero.
It's not natural I tell you. Test the bastards. Let Alex Rodriquez back in and throw Gerard Butler out.

ReplyDeletePhilip Seymour Hoffman, RIP.
Say what you will about blacks, but at least they know enough not to commit cultural suicide, unlike dumb-ass whitey.
ReplyDeleteThey sign up for the gibsmedat at a 95% rate, but that doesn't signify that they aren't suicidal. On the contrary, such a total lack of independence or self-reliance does not speak well of their will to power or determination to survive. As part of the deal, they roll over for their own demographic murder via open borders. And their own economic displacement via same.
The problem with self-esteem and Republicans takes two forms:
ReplyDeleteThere is far too much self-esteem and self-approval among the elite and the well off Republicans. That goes for the elite and well off Democrats, too. However, too Republicans at the top talk all day about fiscal responsibility and smaller government while directing as much money to themselves and away from everybody else as they can.
Second problem is they do tear down the self-esteem of others by making it clear that they don't care about them unless they are rich too -- in which case they will try to direct more money to you. If you need something, however, all they can say is "go away, you miserable failure and get a good job even when there aren't any."
Look at the message they are sending about refusing to extend unemployment. They communicate a "drop dead" attitude. How many people can feel they are financially secure enough to vote Republican anymore? If you don't people who will ever need government help in your party, then you don't want most white people in your group, much less anybody else.
All the outreach to young people and nonwhites is baloney and doomed to fail.
If financial success is required, then most post-recession American families are failures.

ReplyDeleteYep, that would be the nature.
It would seem that he lacked an adequate theory of mind in so far as he was unable to put himself in other people's shoes and understand his behavior from their perspective ...
And that would be the nurture.
You cross, say, a sociopath/narcisisst Dad with a JD, and a narcissist/borderline Mom with an MBA, and you got the genetics all lined up.
Then you throw in the nurture lavished upon an only child by a Helicopter Mom & a Helicopter Dad, and you got the environmentals all lined up.
All I'm saying is that this particular witch's brew of genetics and environmentals is gonna be very conducive to producing a Columbine or a VaTech or a Sandy Hook or, on a much larger scale, an October Revolution or a Holdomor.

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a university study. It was a comment from one of Steve's readers.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm saying that the dirty little not-so-secret secret of almost all of these behavioral studies is that just about 100% of the participants are not only white, but are in fact whites who either already have a 4-year college degree [from a pretty darned good college] or else are well on their way to earning a 4-year college degree [from a pretty darned good college].
My best guess is that the professional credentialed behavioral community knows essentially nothing about the true behavioral proclivities of African Americans or Mexican Indians [Nahuatl, Mixtec, Zapotec, etc] and next-to-nothing about the behavioral proclivities of most Asians.
Of course, these days, a public confession of a pretty-little-lie hate-fact like that would get just about any professional credentialed tenured behavioralist right back to un-credentialed un-tenured amateur status in the blink of an eye*.
Which is why, offically & explicitly, it remains a closely guarded state "secret", even though, unofficially & implicitly, everyone understands that it's really not-so-secret.
