Donald Sterling: The Elderly Cuckold's grasp for dignity

Dodger slugger Matt Kemp ($160 million contract) and V. Stiviano, mistress
of octogenarian billionaire Donald Sterling, on her Instagram account:
What do you think she wants you to imagine about their relationship?
Reviewing the illegally recorded tape of part of 81-year-old billionaire Donald Sterling's conversation with his young mistress V. Stiviano, I'm reminded of old stories of elderly cuckolds, like Chaucer's The Miller's Tale and who knows how many comic operas.
Donald Sterling
We don't have the beginning of the conversation, which would presumably be very interesting. The parts of the recording leaked (no doubt by Team Stiviano) have the flavor of a well-rehearsed entrapment.
V: ... I'm sorry, sweetie. Everything was OK and perfect.
DS. I'm just telling you, you told me you were going to remove it, so Dennis, the second [that?] Dennis looked at me and made that comment.

What was "that comment" that the second Dennis made that so wounded the 80-year-old sugar daddy?

That comment appears to have been made by Dennis regarding Donald Sterling's mistress's predilection for posting on social media pictures of herself with famous black athletes and celebrities. Why in the world would an octogenarian object to his arm candy advertising herself to the world as consorting constantly without him with famous black athletes? What implication could Dennis have drawn from Ms. Stiviano's Instagram pictures about the old fool's ability to keep his youthful and expensive girlfriend sexually satisfied?
V: ... I'm sorry you feel that way, honey. I don't know how this conversation even came about. You were telling me how people called you, and how they mentioned certain things to you, and how it bothers you.

"Mentioned certain things" ... Ms. Viviano's lawyer appears to have done an excellent job at coaching his client at how to lead the billionaire in this surreptitiously-recorded conversation so that the public won't be able to figure out what they are talking about when it is leaked.
DS: Can't you just say, "The few Instagrams, I won't, I just ..."

Next, the golddigger, not the billionaire, introduces the subject of black people into the part of the conversation she's released.
V: Honey, if it makes you happy, I will remove all of the black people from my Instagram.
DS: Thank you. You said that before, you said, "I understand."

Obviously, there was a lot of previous discussion between these two that we aren't being let in on by Team Stiviano.
V: ... I DID remove the people that were independently on my Instagram that are black.

What does "independently" mean here? My guess would be that he's okay with her posting pictures of herself with some famous athlete or hip-hop star as long as Sterling is in the picture with the two younger people, but he's not okay with her posting pictures suggesting to the world that she's hanging out with these famous studs without him in the picture.
DS: You said that before, you said, "I understand." Then why did you start saying that you didn't? You just said that you didn't remove them. You didn't remove every -- "
V: I didn't remove Matt Kemp and Magic Johnson, but I thought -- I thought Matt Kemp is mixed, and he was OK, just like me. He's lighter and whiter than me.

Rihanna-Matt Kemp
Matt Kemp is the L.A. Dodger slugger who formerly dated pop star Rihanna (until he had an off-season in 2010, after which he got his mojo back and was runner-up in the MVP voting in 2011 when he led the NL with 39 dingers).

In other words, Kemp swings some heavy lumber in the Los Angeles Celebrity Sexual Marketplace. If I were an octogenarian giving some tart two Bentleys and a Ferrari to be my girlfriend, I'd know what people would think when they see pictures on her Instagram of her being friendly with the 6'4" 215-pound 29-year-old Kemp without her elderly sponsor in the frame.

In the picture at the top of the post taken from Stiviano's Instagram page, she's jamming her right breast into Kemp's ribcage as if the two are in the throes of a grand affair. (Kemp looks mildly surprised.)
DS: Okay.
V: I met his mother.
DS: You think I'm a racist, and wouldn't --
V: I don't think you're a racist.
DS: Yes you do. Yes you do.
V: I think you, you --
DS: Evil heart.
V: I don't think so. I think you have an amazing heart, honey. I think the people around you have poison mind, and have a way of thinking.

The people around him, such as the mysterious Second Dennis, "have poison mind, and have a way of thinking." What does that mean? My guess would be that the people around Donald Sterling think he's not keeping his hot young mistress satisfied in the sack, so she's getting some on the side with the jocks and rappers she hangs out with in her Instagram pictures.
DS: It's the world! You go to Israel, the blacks are just treated like dogs
V: So do you have to treat them like that too?
DS: The white Jews, there's white Jews and black Jews, do you understand?
V: And are the black Jews less than the white Jews?
DS: A hundred percent, fifty, a hundred percent.
V: And is that right?
DS: It isn't a question—we don't evaluate what's right and wrong, we live in a society. We live in a culture. We have to live within that culture.
V: But shouldn't we take a stand for what's wrong?

Note to reality show producers considering Miss V.: she'll probably require more than one take to read the lines right.
V: And be the change and the difference?

Did Obama write this for her?
DS: I don't want to change the culture, because I can't. It's too big and too [unknown].
V: But you can change yourself.
DS: I don't want to change. If my girl can't do what I want, I don't want the girl. I'll find a girl that will do what I want! Believe me. I thought you were that girl—because I tried to do what you want. But you're not that girl. ...

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss would have returned her to the agency for a new, improved version a long time ago. But Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is the man who employed Elgin Baylor as his general manager for 22 years until Elgin was 74, during which they had 20 losing seasons. Buss employed Jerry West as his general manager and dated a whole bunch of 22-year-old blondes. Donald Sterling employed Elgin Baylor as the brains of his basketball operation and dated Miss Subic Bay 1999.

The next part sounds like a Larry David sitcom:
V: It's like saying, "Let's just persecute and kill all of the Jews."
DS: Oh, it's the same thing, right?
V: Isn't it wrong? Wasn't it wrong then? With the Holocaust? And you're Jewish, you understand discrimination.
DS: You're a mental case, you're really a mental case. The Holocaust, we're comparing with—
V: Racism! Discrimination.
DS: There's no racism here. If you don't want to be... walking... into a basketball game with a certain... person, is that racism?

Well played, V. You were coached well.

Okay, here's my guess at what the Back Story is before this bit of conversation. Imagine Larry David, even richer but 20 years older and feebler.

Warning: Pure Speculation, but this makes a lot of psychological sense: Sterling's aged male ego was crushed by comments from other men, such as the Second Dennis, about how, when he's not around, his girlfriend is sure seen a lot by herself in the company of famous studs like Matt Kemp. And, you know, Don, people will talk.

So, Sterling tells her to delete from her public Instagram various pictures of herself and some celebrity swordsmen in which he doesn't appear.

At some point, maybe, she points out that all the guys Sterling is objecting to are black. (I don't know that, but everybody else in the world is assuming that Sterling brought it up first and I don't see any proof one way or another.) Being an old coot, he eventually admits that she has a point. He says something like society assumes that women who publicly hang out with black jocks and entertainers are having sex with at least one of them, especially if their alternative source of sexual satisfaction is a rich octogenarian.

Her lawyer coaches her to make "blacks" synonymous in their conversations with the concept of the men her boyfriend objects to her being seen with outside of his company. So, she then gets him in the illegally recorded conversation to talk about how society sees "blacks."

This could be a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode on HBO in 2034.

  2. I can't believe you are defending Sterling. Yeah, his girlfriend is a whore and prob. staged the call to get more money from him.

So? Sterling's entire recorded exchange is so beyond the pale. It's not HBD, it's pure racism pure and simple. I have admired your posts for the most part, but I am starting to wonder about your motives.

  3. Aha! This was not just a set up. Some of the questions appear as if she was coached by someone on what to ask him and to frame the questions in such a way to get the reaction from him.

But as I said, clearly Sterling has had these types of conversations before with her over the years. She didn't mind at first but with the lawsuit.

Wonder if her lawyer put her up to asking the questions and helping her phrase them in such a way.

The press is going to paint her as a VICTIM. 'V AS IN VICTIMLESS Minority' who only wanted to get to the truth as best she could!

    Probably went down w/her attorney:

"Ok, V, what type of thing do you to do to him?"

"I just want to make him pay for him treating me like hell. Why should I give back stuff he freely gave me?"

"Well, is there anything that he talks about a lot."

""Oh, sure. About how I do that thing he really likes to stick--"

"I MEANT, is there anything, any topic that he talks about a lot when he's just with you?"

    "Oh, you mean other things?"

    "Yes, Yes!" (Doh!)

"He talks about the minorities all the time, and I mean all the time. About how they shouldn't be anywhere near us."

"Ok, good! Maybe you'd have a case vs him."

    "Really?"

"Here's what you do. I'll write the questions out for him and you memorize them and then get him talking about the minorities, all about the minorities."

    "I'll try."

"Oh, and while I can't directly recommend that you record the conversation--"

    "I"ll do it!"

"Remember, as your attorney, I didn't DIRECTLY advise you at all to record conversations, it's illegal in CA."

"Don't worry, I'll take it from here."

The confused nature of her questions is just her attempting to recall what to memorize, a la 'how did my lawyer tell me to phrase it?'

With the NAACP withdrawing his lifetime achievement award, the opportunity here seems to be for a second-tier civil rights org to absolve/rehabilitate Sterling for an 8 figure donation. Maybe CORE?

  6. This will be very interesting. I predict the outcome of this will be in part huge pressure from Obama and other Black leaders to force Israel to let in every African.

Which will be resisted tooth and nail by Bibi and pretty much most Jews in Israel because it would mean they'd be a tiny minority living in Africa on the Med. And treated as such.

Moreover, forcing Israel to take in all the Africans or attempting to do so will cause a split between the interests of Jews sentimentally (pro Israel) and SWPL culture and the $PLC and other anti-Racist groups. So far Jews have not had to choose: sentimental attachment to Israel and identity as a Jew, and membership in the Anti-Racist crowd. Given above average IQs for Jews and their above demographic representation in comedy and such, I'm all for that to advance. To make Jews choose between denouncing Israel even existing or membership in the anti-Racist (anti-White) crowd.

I'd rather have Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, and guys like him in my foxfole forced to defend my positions than facing against me.

  11. I don't know that she's cashing in as much as she's keeping the cash she's already extracted. He is apparently suing her for allegedly embezzling $1.8 million.

Prediction: the Sterling brouhaha (maybe it should be spelled Donald Tokowitz "Sterling") will get less media traction than you might think. He's not just a longtime bigtime Democrat donor, he's the kind of money they can tap late in a tight campaign. He isn't going to get the Cliven Bundy treatment.

Observation: this guy has been doing stuff like this for decades. "V" isn't even his first Hispanic compensated bimbo. He ran the Clippers as a bust-out for 20 years after buying them from San Diego. This guy still making the news in 2014 is even more ridiculous than the 73-year-old Brent Musberger doing college football broadcasts.

  13. So, if it's that well known in LA, and especially around sports and basketball people, that Magic was doing guys and that guys were doing him, I'd imagine Mr. Sterling wanted to make sure SHE didn't do Magic...and pictures of him with her would have given his male friends something to tease him about or perhaps they were quite serious: "Hey, she's going to give you the bug if you don't watch out."

So, I'm thinking here that transcript of Sterling and his girlfriend might possibly have been edited by TMZ, all references to Mr. Magic Johnson as gay or as HIV positive having been deleted. No way TMZ gets away with airing bad things being said about Mr. Basketball and Mr. Los Angeles hero, Magic Johnson.

  15. Ironic thing is that in her adventurism she's shot herself in the foot. Sterling's wife is suing the adventuress for 1.8 million on the grounds that the money which her husband spent on his mistress belonged to her as well. Now Sterling himself will be able to ruin this bitch due to the huge financial loss he will suffer as a result of an illegally recorded and publicized conversation. This one's gonna be worth watching.

ESPN have been running small hit pieces on him for years, Bill Simmons especially, and if the Clips sold for 1.8 bil it would allow all other owners to revalue. The recent Bucks sale was higher than expected but could be brushed off as overbidding. Selling an LA property will allow for ownership groups to revalue and of course pad their personal wealth totals and lever up some more at near zero rates.

Over the last couple of weeks, there's been a smoldering almost-story threatening to get off the ground about Lacob not re-signing Mark Jackson as coach due to some kind of vague "personality" thing. This Sterling thing might distract race-pandering sportswriters from turning Lacob into another bad guy.

Of course, Ben Ferguson was all over Bundy tonight, without a word about Sterling. Anyone else noticed what a drunk-sounding, leftist, neokahn, phony conservative carney barker Ferguson is? Listening to him uphold the moral rectitude of the PC police and give entirely bad advice to conservatives tonight for maybe 45 minutes, I swear to Christ I couldn't find any difference between him, and the kind of Manchurian "Conservative" lefties would clone in vats if they could.

It's not just because they like sports. It's because they like money. Owning a major sports franchise is a good way to rip the public off. First of all it's a monopoly. Not just the league itself, but your particular franchise in the city. And the city and taxpayers always end up paying for everything.

Here's a good recent example of how the Miami Marlins owner ripped off Miami. This sort of thing happens all the time, and is usually less publicized:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/marlins-jeffrey-loria-david-samson-fire-sale-trade-hanley-ramirez-new-stadium-.html

" The Florida Marlins owners whined, and they brayed, and they swore up and down that they couldn't afford the new stadium necessary to raise their payroll from embarrassing levels and compete annually. And they got it, the vast majority on the taxpayer's teat no less, this gleaming new gem from which they would fatten their pockets by taking all of the ticket and concession and parking and advertising sales, every last cent, no matter how unseemly that felt. ...

And Miami is stuck with $2.4 billion in stadium debt service for that.

This would be falling-down funny if it weren't so very sad. Two charlatans, ripping off a major American city and laughing all the way to the bank. "

  49. During the ancien regime of France, mistresses of royalty were trained in the arts of conversation as well as philosophy, reading/writing, musical ability and what not. This would help set them apart from the common Parisian whore in the streets who could be had for a couple of sous.

Perhaps in this day and age, V and other higher priced gold diggers, if they so desire to land a businessman whose wealth often surpasses the Kings of old, must familiarize themselves with the arts of conversation.

Just as Madame de Pompadour had to learn about various subjects as philosophy and matters of state, so too Viviano must learn to be fluent on various matters that appeal to her main squeeze, such as learning about such things as "black jews in Israel" (since apparently that is a hot topic of conversation in between the shopping sprees and car rides) and of course, "the minorities".

The various mistresses of the French kings very survival depended upon learning which topics to be conversant on in order to hold and keep their man's interest.

In this, Viviano is no different. She knows exactly which talk will keep him interested and mesmerized completely.

Yessir. "the black jews of Israel" (maybe Richard Sherman's distant relations, no doubt?) and "the minorities" are what get Sterlings passions all excited and ready for the chase. Can see how that goes down.

Mega-rich businessmen aren’t attracted to women for their looks. The yearning for a sweet natured, beautiful in a traditional way, honest, faithful girl in a voile dress with her hair blowing in the wind is strictly middle class. Gazillionaires are, at heart, grasping pricks, and they are attracted to the same hard-headed, cold-blooded, bottom line mentality in women. In wives and mistresses, they want women who can handle themselves – women with whom they can stomp the terra. You can’t stomp the terra with Bambi. You have to look after her and protect her. Rich guys are not interested in that; it’s too much trouble, and takes time away from keeping an eye on the financial ball. They want women who plot, and scheme, and grasp, and scheme some more. They understand that mentality, and are comfortable with it. Looks are secondary.

In past discrimination lawsuits he was prejudiced against blacks and Hispanics in favor of whites and especially Koreans and Asians (from hiring to renting to) and made pro-Asian statements which were part of the lawsuits. He even same enamored of the femininity of the Asian female (as a lot of prominent Jewish men are, apparently). If he had found a young Asian women as his mistress-- one with a degree in STEM or business from UCLA, i.e. higher IQ-- we wouldn't be talking about this.

  71. Via MIDDLE EAST MONITOR, the lives of Black Jews in Israel:

"Although there are undoubtedly some individual success stories, the picture is pretty grim for many, if not most, Falasha in Israel. According to a report in Newsweek:

Poverty is three times higher among Ethiopians than among other Jewish Israelis, and unemployment is twice as high. Ethiopian youngsters are much more likely to drop out of school and are vastly under-represented at the country's universities. One place they are over-represented is in jail: juvenile delinquency runs four times higher in the community than among Israelis overall.1

In addition, of the more than 120,000 Ethiopian Jews living in Israel today (half of whom were born in Africa and all of whom account for less than 2 per cent of its 7.7 million population), many are consigned to live either in ghettos or illegal settlements. Hundreds of complaints of racism are made by the Ethiopian community to charities and organisations like Tebeka every year and there is clearly a huge imbalance in the treatment of black Jews and non-black Jews. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars being spent by American and Israeli donors specifically to help the Falasha to 'integrate' into Israeli society, a black underclass has essentially been created in Israel, in which 65 per cent of Ethiopian children in Israel live below the poverty line."

    ReplyDelete
  72. Racist Housing in Israel:

"The racism extends to such basic issues as where the Falasha can and cannot live. Some areas have a 'policy' of not selling apartments to non-white Jews. In 2009, one estate agent looking for accommodation for his newly arrived clients was shocked to be told by the owner of a building in Ashkelon:

There are no Ethiopians in this area at all, and there won't be any. This is our policy. I have no problem with them living somewhere else ... Anyone can come, but not Ethiopians. This is how it is in the entire building; at least I hope it is, in order to preserve the apartment's value and the building's value ... We've kept this rule of not selling to Ethiopians for 16 years. I can't speak for the entire house, but this is how I feel ... It immediately drops the apartment's value ... their apartments drop 30% in value ... I'm no expert in the details, but the price goes down if Ethiopians come. I don't care who lives here, I'm not racist. But when I leave the building where I have lived for the past 16 years, the rest of the tenants will look at me as a traitor because I sold to Ethiopians. I don't want to ruin my relations with my friends.'"

  74. Anti-Black racism in the IDF:

"While Palestinians are on the receiving end of the bulk of the Israeli Army's venom and blood lust, within the ranks of the army itself, it is Ethiopian Jews who are being subjected to degrading treatment and humiliation on a regular basis. Over the years, there have been many reports of Ethiopian army personnel who have committed suicide27 as a direct result of their treatment. Examples of racist treatment include one soldier being 'thrown out of an army clinic by a major who told subordinates to post a sign saying "No Kushis [blacks] allowed". "I went to my room and cried for an hour and a half"', the humiliated soldier said.28

According to Max Blumenthal, 'by 1997, six years after an airlift brought the second wave of Ethiopian immigrants to Israel, Ethiopian soldiers accounted for 10 percent of army suicides - but comprised only four tenths of a percent of the army. Racism was a key factor in the epidemic.'29 One 22-year-old soldier killed himself after telling his niece, 'Every morning when I get to the base, six soldiers are waiting for me who clap their hands and yell: the Kushi is here!'"

A pathetic and rich old man, desperate for "love" (note the fake "honeys"), and desperate for others to perceive him as still Virile and Manly (thus, a young multikulti skank on his arm that he and the rest of TrendingLand consider 'hot').

He got completely played, and I agree, portions of their exchange smack of preparation and witness-leading. The whole episode has Perfect Storm signatures all over it, dovetailing seamlessly into the Evil White Male Racist/Sexist narrative that's ruled the western nations for four decades, bringing Barry Soetoro two terms as President of the Victimocracy.

This one smells of set-up. The speed with which the Minority Machine whirred into national action also was suspect. The announcers and commentators couldn't get the Korrekt denunciations outta their mouths fast enough. No one had context yet; no one really understood the background yet. But that didn't stop the usual Lemming Rush over each other to see who could denounce most convincingly and passionately the Racist America in which such Evil White Males still hold all the power, etc. And etc.

As Barry Boy hinted darkly, the U.S. is still full of Sterlings, thus there is Much More Still To Be Done before it's safe for Minorities and Women (U.S. females also live under a state of Siege and War, doncha know!) to take their fair place in a nation that stands for freedom, equality, and civil rights blah lie blah.

Half-a-century of disenfranchising, degrading, and denouncing the Evil White Male is starting to show diminishing returns. The Ecomony isn't thriving under Feminism and Diversity. Therefore it is time for the Evil White Males (preferably, very rich and public EWMs) to demonstrate directly to the Almighty People exactly how racist, misogynist, homophobic, LGBT-phobic, and Etc. the nation truly is. Result: rationalizations for continued (and escalated) cultural and legal beatdowns of the EWM, on a silver electronic platter.

All washed down smoothly and imperceptibly with a day-long draught of hoops and entertainment. They don't even realize that their minds just got windexed, and that their "beliefs" were just created for them, right in front of their own blind eyes.

    Cheers.
