The NYT notices something I've harped on for about a dozen years:
DEMOGRAPHIC SHIFT
Latinos Onscreen, Conspicuously Few

If you went to the movies in 1946, when Latinos constituted barely 3 percent of the American population, you might have caught Carmen Miranda, reportedly the highest-paid woman in the world at [MORE]

Lloyd Green points out in The Daily Beast that Hillary's big advantage in 2016 might be that she is white.

As I've mentioned before, my favorite of the new web journalism startups is turning out to be Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight, but precisely for the reasons that it's likely not making much money: it's not very partisan, ideological, or trendy, just pleasantly data-dweeby. In contrast, Ezra Klein's Vox hasn't done much of anything for me: didactic, [MORE]

From my review of Thomas Piketty in Taki's Magazine:
One of the surprises in Thomas Piketty’s best seller Capital in the Twenty-First Century is how grating the Frenchman’s prose style turns out to be. Granted, Piketty has valid reasons for being perpetually outraged at his fellow economists’ ignorance and cupidity. .. [MORE]

FYI Steve, your Unz.com posts are not showing up in any RSS feeds, so I'm not seeing them even though I've linked my RSS reader to the new site.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that the unz site is missing the blog roll. The blog roll is useful
ReplyDeleteThe blog roll is there, in the right hand column, about the same location as here.
ReplyDeleteBrat is a liar the sent them back don't worked they still will come right back and get jobs. The only way to end illegal immigration is to fine companies that hired them thousands of dollars, few on the politically right have guts to go against business interest;. Brat the right wing phony.
ReplyDeleteI think that most of the right is mentally retarded since they don't want to pushed to create a system since Ronald Reagan to fine the hell out of companies that hire illegal immigrants.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I like about Steve's new site is that it doesn't throw Firefox to the end of comments the way Blogger does, as if I didn't want to read what anyone else said.
ReplyDeleteAnd Unz finally worked its way into my history bar so I'm set now.
I'm thinking Boehner and other GOP suing Obama for exceeding his Presidential boundaries could be a "Brat effect" as well.
ReplyDeleteJudean Peoples' Front, do you still come around here?
ReplyDeleteI wish there were more good people like Sailer on the racialist right. I bet a lot of people who are sympathetic to us are repelled by sites like Counter Currents and Radix that advocate transhumanism, neopaganism, and autocracy. Most racialists are motivated by hatred and resentment and have defective personalities. If there were more good white advocates maybe we would actually get somewhere...
ReplyDeleteWhere's your source for "most racialist are motivated by hatred and resentment"? Sounds like another variation on believing race exists makes you a hater.
ReplyDeleteCan you please post an RSS feed? That is how I read your old column, but I cannot find a feed for your new column.
ReplyDeleteway off-topic, but: Unamusement Park is back up, and talking about Haiti
ReplyDeleteYou people are building castles in the sandbox made for you by your masters. Wake up. See reality for what it is.
ReplyDeleteSteve, two issues. First,
ReplyDeleteIn your great article about Columba Bush's struggle with English, you did not embed her broken English speech. Here is the link. I hope it comes out readable here
<iframe frameborder='0' width='512' height='330' scrollable='no' src='http://www.c-span.org/video/standalone/?c4544171'></iframe>
Second, I am surprised you expose yourself to the mercy of blogger.com instead of running your blog on your own domain. Even if they are tolerant now, they may change.
I might miss reply here, but I would not miss it if you post on human-stupidity.com
The Unz Review seems to be as much down as up at the moment. Is all well at the server farm?
ReplyDeleteI hope Unz figures out what is going on and can get his site back up.
ReplyDeleteClinton people are playing dirty and going after everyone.
Just a small taste of what might happen were she to be elected.
Mr Unz says it's a wonky server and things are back up, although comments are off while they play around with the new hardware setup.
