When The New Republic had an attack of the vapors over a bunch of politically incorrect witticisms from old Ron Paul newsletters, accusing Rep. Paul of racism, homophobia, and anti-Semitism, I pointed out that TNR boss Marty Peretz and his new favorite young man James Kirchick, who is the latest in a long line stretching through Andrew Sullivan to Al Gore, are worthy of some scrutiny, too.

Ron Paul arguably was either the most incompetent man in Congress to not vet his own newsletters to constituents or anti-Semitic at the least. As for the charges of anti-Black racism or homophobia I am unconvinced.
However the guy (Paul) is a fringe nutter like Wright. It's a sign of the strength of the Republican Party that he was so thoroughly rejected. Gold standard? Anti-Military? Isolationist? That's all Pat Buchanon-Father Coughlin Bundism. Which is stupid.
It's a sign of the weakness of the Democrats that a guy like Wright is close to Obama.
Now that TNR is firmly and irretrievably in the hands of the neocons this is what they do with it. Insult to injury anyone?
What does this have to do with Obama?
Well tggp, Muslims are obsessed with us. They demand we do what they say in the West. No cartoons, speeches by the Pope, plays, books, films, songs, or ice cream swirls they find offensive. Otherwise they threaten and carry out terror.
Osama threatened Europe with terrorism ... over Danish cartoons and something the Pope said.
You may not be interested in Muslims. But they are interested in YOU.
I insult Muslims all the time, and haven't had any problems. I live in America, where Muslims are rare and well-behaved (other than the Nation of Islam I suppose).
The next time Pat Buchanan is wrong will be the first. The fact he's not on Mt. Rushmore is because they ran out of space....and he hasn't really accomplished all that much. Great man.
I'm confused. I though that one of the root words of "neo-con" was "conservative" - i.e., that the neo-cons at least made a pretense of being conservative. Is gay porn now considered conservative? Did Buckley roll on that one too?
An article about a gay pornstar and gay porn business owner. Do a web search on that Lucas guy and go to his blog. It has "adult" material in his blog as well as political material.
One is reminded of Steve's great "Why Lesbians Aren't Gay" article. Lucas has tons of professionally photographed pictures of himself on his blog. He has that "model's jaw" going on and obviously works out some. He is as image and looks-obsessed as any pretty woman you have ever met. Straight men are not like this. Its just further proof that there is some genetic basis for homosexuality. I dont think Ive ever seen anyone sneer for a camera as much as that guy does---every picture has that affected rebel facial expression.
Its hard to believe Peretz and Kirchick chose to highlight this guy just because he is hawkish on Israeli defense.
Definition of a neo-con: A liberal who wants an aggressive middle eastern policy. Did we give up our party for that?
Ron Paul - fringe nutter, to think he believes that govt policy should accord with the constitution, jeez wheres he been living?!
As all good neo-cons know the US is a proposition nation, a nation founded on principles rather than ethnicity. Where do we find these principles? Why in the constitution, however if we discard Ron Paul then we implicitly discard the constitution.
So then its bye bye proposition nation and opening the door on the reality of ethnicity.
Any neo-cons want to jump back on their sneering at Ron Paul yet.
Muslims aren't the only minority group in Western countries who make lots of demands.
Is anyone here who really believes that the Iraq War has been anything other than a total disaster, or that Ron Paul, a flight surgeon during the Vietnam war, is actually "Anti-Military"? How many of his neo-con critics even served in the military? How many of them can even give a coherent explanation for why we are in Iraq? Can anyone honestly believe that the nomination of John McCain is a sign of the Republican Party's "strength"?
Did anonymous actually read the newsletters that his self righteous panties are in such a twist about?
Is it really the best idea in the world to allow our politicians to expand the supply of money as they see fit? Doesn't this seem like a sure way to mire a country in debt, government schemes and foreign adventures?
"I’ve been told not to talk, but these stooges do not scare me. Threats or no threats, I’ve laid bare the coming race war in our big cities. The federal-homosexual cover-up on AIDS (my training as a physician helps me see through this one). The Bohemian Grove–perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress’s Mr. New Money. The Israeli Lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica. And the Soviet-style “smartcard” the Justice Department has in mind for you."--Ron Paul Report solicitation letter by Ron Paul
Claiming that a race war is coming, that the government is secretly controlled by pagans who conduct bizarre secret rituals and that the federal government is working in co-operation with the homosexuals to hide the truth about AIDS is a little more than politically incorrect, it is batshit crazy.
Sure Ron Paul might be right on immigration and foreign policy, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a paranoid conspiracy theorist.
Is that Evil Neo-Con? Or just another unit of the neo-con hive-mind?
Its just further proof that there is some genetic basis for homosexuality.
No, it isn't. It's further proof that homosexuals are neurologically different to heterosexual men. Genetics does not account for all neurological differences.
I dont think Ive ever seen anyone sneer for a camera as much as that guy does---every picture has that affected rebel facial expression.
He kind of reminds me of the Ben Stiller movie character in "Zoolander" LOL!
Gay porn neoconnery, is that where the money is now?
Paul isn't necessarily obsessed
with the gold standard but with
stable money. He supports a
savings based economy building
real capital than a ponzi system
that rewards shorting the system
over funding innovation and
infrastructure.
He is also against spilling
blood needlessly is murky wars
of liberation.
WHO would be against such a platform??? Someone who benefits
from the current banking system
and does not risk their own blood
in these wars.
You forgot to lump him in with
Charles Lindberg while you were
at it (what an insult).
fascination with the young, male body -- check
devotion to a homeland for your ethnic group -- check
constantly promoting the expansion of that homeland for living room -- check
readiness to use military force against foreign 'enemies' to achieve goals -- check
tolerance, even encouragement for the curtailment of traditional civil liberties in order to make the 'homeland' safe -- check
willing to expand state power and spending in order to provide physical and economic 'security' for the people -- check
brilliant use of a single -- though tragic and horrific -- event to gain control of political disourse --check
etc etc
And the neo-cons call paleos Nazis.
Muslims aren't the only minority group in Western countries who make lots of demands.
Or are really dangerous...
"Its hard to believe Peretz and Kirchick chose to highlight this guy just because he is hawkish on Israeli defense."
What's so hard abot it?
(Rimshot!!)
Is TNR neoconservative? Maybe it's heading in that direction, but it does not identify as such. The whole point of profiling Lucas is to indicate the obvious chasm that exists or should exist between gay identity and Islamic culture. This strategy has both liberal and conservative elements. Conservatism is not a set or principles per se, but a defense of the status quo and a related caution toward change. That may even come to apply to homosexuality...and in some ways it has (see the British Tory party). That's the sleight-of-hand being played by TNR.
Still waiting for someone to tell me why the most sane person in the race is a "fringe nutter."
Or maybe those are just words.
"Threats or no threats, I’ve laid bare the coming race war in our big cities."
As much as you might like to point and holler at that claim of Paul's...it was actually written only a couple of years before the LA Riots.
Were the LA Riots a race war or not?
All the bad stuff said about Ron Paul was accurate.
Race war in the cities? Did he mean Blacks vs Hispanics?
That is happening right now.
indicate the obvious chasm that exists or should exist between gay identity and Islamic culture.
Important point to be made. Oftentimes liberals defend Islam without realizing how reactionary it is.
Liberals defend anything inimical to Western Culture.

several large mainstream media outlets are edited and/or controlled by gays. many journalists are also gay. part of the free ride that obama gets from the media is the result of a mass man-crush by gay and gay-closeted journalists.
it's a velvet mafia, lavendar mafia. and it's simple ingroup-outgroup dynamics at work again.
ingroup-outgroup strategy will never, ever be taught in the schools. the public is encouraged to either identify with an approved victim ingroup (harmless to the regime), or otherwise embrace individuality.
of course, the greatest taboo in society is identification with an unapproved ingroup (dangerous to the regime).
modern social trends are only a continuation of the same cultural revolution that occurred in bolshevik russia and weimar germany.
1) the normal native majority people of the country are the targeted outgroup.
2) an assortment of hostile ingroups are supported in their permanent agitation against the outgroup.
Half-Sigma:
All the bad stuff said about Ron Paul was accurate.
Ah, another unit of the neo-con hive-mind. By "accurate," the unit means "useful for the Cause." If Jefferson or Washington were in the race, the same "bad stuff" would be true of him.
Lucas stands with Israel...but he doesnt stand IN Israel! Yes,he will drop in for a live sex show or two,no doubt appreciated by the Israeli higher ups,or at least those who prefer forced sex with male soldiers,as opposed to female. But he lives in the USA. Too bad the Army has that nasty No Gay Guys Welcome rule,or else he'd no doubt be putting his money where his mouth...uhm,oh never mind. He'd be fighting for his country,we'll say.I am sure he is not one of those loudmouth pieces of excrement that proliferate in government and media that loove the war but not enough to take part in it. But he says Iraq is wrong:WRONG TARGET!!! Insane idiot neo-con wars are OK,just pick a better country to destroy! PS:I heard Victor D Hansen on Dennis Millers radio show Monday. Uhm,what happened to Dennis Miller?? Did he get hit in the head by one of those football dudes??
Ron Paul did not write the goofy stuff about AIDS and such. When he retired from Congress to go back to his practice he stopped having anything to do with the newsletters, which is why the density of crazy went sharply up in that period.
All the bad stuff said about Ron Paul was accurate.
There wasn't any bad stuff said about Ron Paul. There were just lies about the nature of right and wrong.
There is absolutely no reason why you need to let people make posts where they misrepresents facts, such as claiming that a series of quotes written by an unknown person was actually a fundraising letter by a known person. Freedom does not extend to force or fraud -- and misrepresenting the truth is fraud. That post, and those like it, are objectionable and should be removed.

Read the quote again, the person I quoted said he was trained as a physician, plus the letter was signed with Ron Paul's signature at the bottom. If you actually read all the newsletters you will see the Ron Paul refers to himself in first person while making numerous references to his own life (working as a flight surgeon in the military, talking about being a physician, mentioning his wife, kids, etc. In numerous articles it is blatantly clear who is writing it.
The fact that Ron Paul denied writing these things just proves how dishonest he is. It should've been obvious considering when his batshit crazy statements in his newsletters were previously brought up when he was running for re-election in congress, he didn't deny writing them, but claimed he was taken out of context.
All the bad stuff (allegedly) written by Ron Paul was accurate.
