I apologize to all readers en route to Mexico for tonight's iSteve meetup scheduled at Mexico City's Palace Club; unfortunately, I've just learned that the Palace Club might not be the ideal venue -- quiet, respectable, and economical -- that I had assumed when I booked it. From the NYT:
The police here arrested two men on murder and robbery charges on Monday in the beating death last week of Malcolm Shabazz, the grandson of Malcolm X, though many questions about the case remained unresolved.
The men taken into custody, David Hernández Cruz and Manuel Alejandro Pérez de Jesús, worked as waiters at the Palace Club, a downtown bar where Mr. Shabazz, 28, was beaten, in what the city prosecutor called a dispute over an excessive bill.
Two other bar employees who the authorities said participated in the beating, which left Mr. Shabazz with fatal skull, jaw and rib fractures, were being sought. ...
The pair disputed a tab that came to around $1,200, Mr. Rios Garza said. Two young women had approached them on the street and invited them to the bar, but although Mexican newspapers have identified the bar as a known brothel, Mr. Rios Garza waved off questions regarding prostitution. Many of the bars in that rundown area charge customers for even a conversation with their female employees, according to Mexican news reports.
Once again, my apologies for inconveniencing you with this last moment cancellation.
Okay, so where is the next meetup? Anyone for Vegas?
ReplyDeleteHow about Detroit or Harlem?
ReplyDeleteAre Mexican authorities investigating whether this may have been a racially-motivated attack, or is that not something they do down there?
ReplyDeleteBefore I pay good money to talk to a Mexican woman, first I ask for her SAT Verbal score. It weeds out the girls who think Krafft-Ebing is a food processor.
ReplyDeleteMexico City can be fun.
ReplyDeleteAt these type of places, there is a risk of being overcharged pretty excessively. Trying to complain or get out of paying usually just makes things worse. Most people eventually learn to hang out at different venues.
Imagine if he had been killed by white good old boys outside a honky tonk. What would the SPLC say?
ReplyDeleteHow about the next meetup at the Cotton Club on Chicago's south side?
ReplyDeleteisteve meet up at the penrith panthers, western sydney, australia. because i don't want to go over there, you guys have to come to me!
ReplyDeleteSavagery.
ReplyDelete"Malcolm Lateef Shabazz[1] (October 8, 1984 – May 9, 2013) was the son of Qubilah Shabazz, the second daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz. He was the first male descendant of Malcolm X.[2] In 1997, when he was 12 years old, Shabazz set fire to the apartment of his grandmother, Betty Shabazz, causing her death."
ReplyDelete" He was arrested in 2002 for stealing $100. He pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.[8] Shabazz was arrested again in 2006, for punching a hole in a store's glass window.[20]"
Wow that's some kind of foresight. Ee no pay bill? I keel him!
ReplyDeleteWhat do they do to waiters with stingy customers at that place, take a finger?
Shabazz probably got mouthy thinking his protected class status would carry over South of the border. This is the new Southern justice.
ReplyDeleteFirst the Tsarnaevs, Richwine stats, Ariel Castro and now this!
ReplyDeleteNot going too well for the open borders crowd
How long can these tremors in multiculturalism be ignored?
How long will can the media keep pretending all is fine and dandy between blacks and Hispanics?
Heck if Hispanics go about ethnically cleansing blacks in their own country then them offing this black vagrant with a famous name in Mexico city ,of all places!, is small potatoes.
Can we have the next Gang of Eight meeting there?
ReplyDeleteLooks like the chickens have come home to roost for young master Malcolm.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Malcolm X would have thought of his thugling grandson.
The dumb chump probably believed that he had some special aura of protection. He believed all the BS that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson talk about a rainbow coalition.
ReplyDeleteHe assumed he was a bad ass and somehow "down with the brothers". He learned the hard way. In Mexico, he's a nobody.
I can just see him getting loud and obnoxious and thinking he could intimidate Mexicans the way he intimidates white people about the size of the bill. Maybe even calling them racists. Big mistake.
Look at the picture of him standing next to his Mexican buddy. The guy's throwing gang signs. Why would you hang out with folks who throw gang signs in a foreign country?
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought this kind of altercation occurs only at the drive-thru window of Mickey D's.
ReplyDeleteInstead of the Hispanic invasion waht about the Asian invasion. Here's an interesting stat, the city of Irvine for about the past 10 years has grown like gang busters thanks to Chinese in particular and many in Irvine use the term FCB. In fact, the Mexician city of Santa Ana, it only grew 1,900 from Jan 2012 to Jan 2013 and Anaheim only 2,100 from from 2012 to Jan 2013 and Irvine 7,200. Anaheim and Santa Ana's growth was mainly having babies while Irvine which has a lot more land space to built housing was Asians from abroad or other places like nearby LA County. In fact Santa Ana and Anaheim only grew .6 versus point .5 for white cities and Irvine grew 3.2. So, now Hispanics are just growing a little more than whites while some Asian groups are growing like gangbusters.
ReplyDeleteI've now seen the mug shots of the guys who were arrested. They are about the same shade as Zimmerman so I think we can declare them "white Hispanics". Another dirty deed by greedy white men.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, back in reality land, of the 3 members of Shabazz's family who were murdered, all 3 were done in by non-whites (Malcolm - other Black Muslims, Betty - by Malcolm Jr., Jr. by Mescins). So maybe Malcolm Sr. picked the wrong race to demonize.
Who's worse, you for writing this wicked piece, or me for laughing my ass off? Neither of us seems to have the appropriate reverence for the loss of a human life.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
Albertosaurus
This is one of those one of those typical clip-joints bordellos where you sit down at the bar, a girl comes over and asks you to buy her a drink.
ReplyDeleteYou say yes, she gets a watered down champagne, and you get $120 put on your tab.
Rinse and repeat a few times and you're in the hole for a grand, which you don't realize until you get up to leave. At which point, a couple of large "waiters" come over and ask for your wallet.
In such cases, it's best to keep a cool head, hand them what you've got in cash, and not chimpout.
The descriptive term of the day is: Clip Joint
ReplyDeleteThis article conveys what the area is like. It's well observed.
ReplyDelete>Are Mexican authorities investigating whether this may have been a racially-motivated attack, or is that not something they do down there?<
They do. But whether this one will be investigated as such is unknown.
"Malcolm Shabazz, who was convicted of manslaughter as a 12-year-old for setting a fire that killed his grandmother, was in Mexico City to visit Miguel Suarez, an immigration activist who was recently deported from the United States."
ReplyDeleteHas anyone in Malcom X's immediate family (and descent) been killed by a white man?
ReplyDeleteWrong place at the wrong time: had Shabazz been able to order an Extra Value Meal, his drink is included, along with free refills.
ReplyDeleteLet this terrible tragedy constitute fair warning to Americans: Do right by your busboy at the local Chili's.
ReplyDeleteThe P.O.S. flies down to DF on a whim, looking to stir up some white guilt and some undermining of US immigration laws for his lefty-connected buddy. P.O.S. ends up going to a high-end whore house, probably enjoying the girls, getting drunk on expensive booze, and, it appears, starting a fight with the bouncers when asked to pay.
ReplyDeleteI guess the first thing that jumps out at me here is how morally superior this guy is to boring white guys with jobs who hold society together and make things work.
want to bet our prez and AG pressured mexico to find the guys who did it
ReplyDelete"How about the next meetup at the Cotton Club on Chicago's south side?"
ReplyDeleteGood one. Not many will get that reference.
just mexicans doing the jobs americans won't do.

Just for giggles, I say we try this again, pretending one group actually has a high IQ and high impulse control, and has evolved beyond the stone age, for example:
"It's a shame when a life is lost senselessly, my condolences to the deceased and his friends and family who were effected by the tragedy.
Lesson: a Mexican recently deported from the U.S. might not be your best tour guide in Mexico. Like many liberal Americans, he'll bring his naivete when interacting with his (now) foreign environment. A whorehouse near Plaza Garibaldi? What could go wrong?
ReplyDeleteLiberals should stick to Europe. Save "the developing world" to we conservative realists.
"Truth," get off it.
I would appreciate any further Tribe of Shabazz meet-ups be first posted here.
ReplyDelete"Good one. Not many will get that reference."
ReplyDeleteGreat flick. And Truth, maybe we could have the meet-up rescheduled for East St. Louis? Or what about Camden?
You should host a meetup in LA. Stevefest 2013.
ReplyDelete"Great flick. And Truth, maybe we could have the meet-up rescheduled for East St. Louis? Or what about Camden?"
ReplyDeleteYou choose, just start saving your paper route money to buy a plane ticket now, Sport.
"You choose, just start saving your paper route money to buy a plane ticket now, Sport."
ReplyDeleteHysterical.
Re: Truth's 3:56 post. Notice that Truth doesn't complain about Mexicans callously beating a Black man to death, or complain about a No Limit son of Obama living a rough life. No, Truth complains about a lack of compassion from Whitey. And if Whitey doesn't start delivering more compassion, things will get ugly.
ReplyDelete"It's a shame when a life is lost senselessly, my condolences to the deceased and his friends and family who were effected by the tragedy."
ReplyDeletePretending Shabazz' death was either senseless or a tragedy is what the MSM is for.
Which sort of pedestrians are most susceptible to bait/switch clip joint tactics
ReplyDelete"Pretending Shabazz' death was either senseless or a tragedy is what the MSM is for."
ReplyDeleteYour death won't exactly make front page news, Sport, but your mother and half your siblings will be bothered, and at least SOMEONE in his family accomplished something.
