Michelle Obama perpetually sore about her test scores

Benjamin Franklin pointed out that the way to get somebody to like you is to have them do you a favor. If you do them a favor, that just emphasizes your superiority over them, and they resent you for it.

Ben would have been heartily amused by how Michelle Obama will never forgive white America for what she had to suffer: being admitted to Princeton and Harvard despite being not terribly smart.

From NewsBusters last November:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: "The polls are showing your husband is trailing Hillary by 46% to 37% in the African-American community. What's going on here?"

MICHELLE OBAMA: "First of all, I think that that's not going to hold. I'm completely confident: black America will wake up, and get [it]. But what we're dealing with in the black community is just the natural fear of possibility. You know, when I look at my life, the stuff that we're seeing in these polls has played out my whole life. You know, always been told by somebody that I'm not ready, that I can't do something, my scores weren't high enough."

Of course, the only solution is more affirmative action, which will create more resentful Michelle Obama clones, which is the whole point of the exercise ...

For some reason, Mrs. Obama's "rage of a privileged class" always reminds me of the scene in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, where Hunter S. Thompson explains to his attorney:

"You Samoans are all the same," I told him. "You have no faith in the essential decency of the white man's culture. Jesus, just one hour ago we were sitting over there in that stinking baiginio, stone broke and paralyzed for the weekend, when a call comes through from some total stranger in New York, telling me to go to Las Vegas and expenses be damned -- and then he sends me over to some office in Beverly Hills where another total stranger gives me $300 raw cash for no reason at all ... I tell you, my man, this is the American Dream in action! We'd be fools not to ride this strange torpedo all the way out to the end."

"Indeed," he said. "We must do it."

Has anyone asked Barry O'Bama to release ALL (including admissions and test scores) of his academic records?

I recall reading that Barry claimed to fellow HLS students that he refused to answer the race question (or checjk the box) on his HLS application.

What's the skinny?

***OFF TOPIC REQUEST***

iSteve (which would be a good hip-hop moniker), when the prez race is narrowed to 2 will you give us an IQ breakdown like you did with Bush vs. Kerry in '04? That was fun.

***OFF TOPIC OBERVATION***
AffirmAct is definitely something whiteRpeople like ... one of the defining chaacteristics me thinks. Don't think this "hot potato" shows up on the stuffwhitepeoplelike blog.

OK, so Michelle is an idiot. I could have guessed that.

More important is that Obama hob-nobbed with Bernie & Bill Ayres:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0208/8630.html

"It’s also a scene whose liberal ideological features – while taken for granted by the Chicago press corps that knows Obama best – provides a jarring contrast with Obama’s current, anti-ideological stance. This contrast between past and present—not least the Ayers connection—is virtually certain to be a subject Republican operatives will warm to if Obama is the Democratic nominee."

Soon will be the time to strip the bark off this baby. And it can be done. If McCain doesn't do it, then he doesn't deserve to be President.

But eventually someone will.

Benjamin Franklin pointed out that the way to get somebody to like you is to have them do you a favor. If you do them a favor, that just emphasizes your superiority over them, and they resent you for it.

Or they're anxious to do an equal or bigger favor in return, to emphasize that you're not really superior after all.

I think the mechanism of "Like us if they do a favor for do" is partly that they expect a favor in return, so feel positive about us. But if it's all favors by them towards us and nothing in return, they'll stop liking us.

One of my friends whose very liberal went to see Michelle Obama speak here in Columbus. Even he was astounded by her sheer idiocy. She repeatedly confusing Ohio with Iowa, and tried to pass it off as a joke. That and she had nothing otherwise worthwhile to say.

In my academic career I've often noticed a kid out of his element either knowledge wise or in terms of intelligence really floundering around trying to make sense of what's going and and how to fit in. The results are often creative but way off the mark. I get the sense often that they have no idea that they aren't getting it -- that they are playing their own game, so to speak.

No wonder if a student would turn to an academic specialty where they fit in and are sort of like experts just by identity alone -- and where mere recastings in academic jargon of their experiences of resentments and not fitting in to the game get them "A" grades. There are a lot of Ph.D's who've take this and run with it all the way to tenured positions on the faculty.

The suits, the charm, the vagueness; is it Chauncey Gardiner? Will the thinking electorate, which has baffled (John Fund-esque) liberal media in the past with its independence, simply vote McCain in the end because Obama is not really a credible president, or have we turned the corner into a world of fuzzy, cable news driven opinion and idiocracy where any illogical thing can happen?

Steve, what's up with your anti-Obama tear the past few months?

Aren't you going to support him? Would you rather John McCain become president, thus completing and ratifying the complete control of the neocon/open border crowd over the Republican party?

Do you think amnesty and another 100 years in Iraq and a new war with Iran is good policy?

Amnesty happens when a Republican president pushes the idea, as in 1986 and very nearly 2006. As far as I know Clinton did nothing in his 8 years pushing amnesty. In fact, Clinton stopped a lot of immigration by taking a hard line on returning Haitian boat people back to Haiti, and then even invading the country and taking out the government that was encouraging the massive outflow.

If Obama wins, then leadership over the GOP will default back to governors and congress, who are mostly opposed to amnesty and increasingly opposed to further foreign adventures.

Dear "Steve, what's up" (Anonymous),

I think you make reasonably good points. If McCain heads the Republican party for four years it will require the authentic right to either shut its mouth or seem disloyal. On the other hand, there is still a chance that Sen. Clinton could pull this off, which seems like the least bad outcome from my (and maybe Sailer's). She looks like she's going to lose, but why not be optimistic? With her in office it's the neocons that are naturally divided, not so much Republicans. I'd much rather have a hardened pragmatist in the White House, who governs by ameliorating opposition, than a demagogue who governs by whipping up hysterical support for his policies du jour.

Look, McCain and G.W.Bush are indistinguishable on immigration. Based on their records and campaign rhetoric, Hilary and Obama are just as bad. No matter who among them wins, the rest of us will have to defeat the next amnesty bill in Congress, not wait around for a Presidental veto which will never come.

Anon, get real. Obama will gut military spending to increase the Welfare State to British or French levels. If you want to live in those PC-driven countries that's fine, the rest of us prefer America.

Military spending (and yeah, wars they WIN) are required to cap Welfare State spending at a ceiling. Otherwise you get every cent going to Welfare State schemes. Steve's "comedy gold" routine.

McCain is the least bad alternative. He'll spend something on the military which is a firewall against total Welfare Statism. Yeah he sucks. But Obama is worse.

And stupid. What's his upside with hanging out with Bill Ayers? What does he get out of it? Unforced error.

When I look at and listen to Michelle Obama I think one thing: Ball-buster. Industrial grade, pummel 'em into fine sand and compress 'em into diamonds caliber ball-buster. I swear when I watch him watching her speak in interviews I can see the trepidation in his mind about what sort of sh*t in search of a fan might spontaneously eject from that ferocious-looking underbite of hers. So anxious he looks almost entirely caucasian.

At least when he's president he'll always have a handy excuse for getting out of the house. Let's hope he doesn't nuke somebody just to prove she's wrong about him being a wimp who lets all the other politicans push him around.

I imagine Barry enduring one of her fierce tirades and thinking glumly, "should've married the white girl."

"Obama will gut military spending to increase the Welfare State to British or French levels."

Military spending is its own animal and there's no way President Obama will be able to put much of a dent in it even if he tries. Multiple Defense Secretaries have tried to rein in the costs of the F-22 fighter program, to no avail. I believe the saying is, "Secretaries come and go, but the services stay forever." Even if Obama spends 8 years in office, he won't have a major impact on military programs that are decades into development and have already sunk the cost of research and development.

I love the military spending justification. Yeah, it's useless, but at least it goes to white married people like me. Problem is the side effect of too much military spending is too many wars.

Michelle Obama is wildly annoying. It's amazing that a rock star like Obama is stuck with a woman like her. Authentic black American identity must have had a strong pull to him at one point.

Obama's Ayres connection is exactly like the numerous connections of Southern white conservative politicians to neo-Confederate racist groups who were violently anti-civil rights in the 60s, the various Minuteman types in the 90s, etc. Both sorts of connections are fair game for the opposition. (Unlike the "Obama is Muslim" crap, which is just a lie).

If you read the Politico article, you see that just like the racist groups end up hating mainstream conservative politicians, the radical leftists in Chicago now see Obama as a sellout.

(From http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0208/8642_Page2.html)

To research her thesis, the future Mrs. Obama sent an 18-question survey to a sampling of 400 black Princeton graduates, requesting the respondents define the amount of time and "comfort" level spent interacting with blacks and whites before they attended the school, as well as during and after their University years. Other questions dealt with their individual religious beliefs, living arrangements, careers, role models, economic status, and thoughts about lower class blacks. In addition, those surveyed were asked to choose whether they were more in line with a "separationist and/or pluralist" viewpoint or an "integrationist and/or assimilationist" ideology.

OK, so let's run with this. Is Mrs. Obama a segregationist? She is clearly against assimilation. How does this look?

Listen, Obama is a black man. Whatever his wife is, he is an exceptionally smart guy himself. But he also has some kind of agenda that he is not talking about, and which his white Messiah-worshippers never ask him.

I gave up on Hillary. McCain is a little bit Pumpkinhead and scary but still a possibility. Why doesn't the public get in Obama's face and put some good questions to him. Who knows, his answers might be thoughtful and useful.

From what Michelle wrote, he is not looking for a Martin Luther King society of assimilation and harmony. Ok, well, I am listening. He is smart, he is black, he might have something good to say. What is he realistically looking for?

Just as an aside, remember this is something she wrote at 21 or so. I remember the kind of crap I believed and wrote around that time, and I doubt it would sound all that much nuttier than her comments.

There are plenty of things not to like about an Obama presidency. His wife's senior thesis strikes me as being about number 200 on the list. (And for all that, he strikes me as a better choice than McCain.)
