"Is Your Baby Racist?"

Newsweek runs the most unintentionally funny article of the year on its cover:
See Baby Discriminate
Kids as young as 6 months judge others based on skin color. What's a parent to do?

It's by San Francisco novelist Po Bronson and his wife Ashley Merryman, both terminally SWPL. It's a chapter from their self-help book Nurture Shock, and it explains how to more scientifically indoctrinate your children in the conventional wisdom so they don't slip up and inadvertently say something politically incorrect about race, thus exposing them, and you, to who knows what consequences.

I'm sure parents in Stalin's Soviet Union had similar worries. Bronson and Merryman would no doubt have done land office business peddling advice to kulak parents about how to talk about class so their little ones don't slip up.

PS it's hilarious to see that post 60s liberalism is in direct defiance of nature itself, yet they will continue to deny reality.

The only question now, which is soon to be answered is: how long can a civilization lasts which exists in defiance to the laws of nature...
Yeah, I think we're going to find out really soon.

The Duke researcher cited in the article, Moody, made a quite obvious observation about increased diversity bringing increased self-segregation in the school setting. Of course, we all know that this occurs when you level up. More intensive social shaming, 'education', is the only prescription for these toddling dissenters.

The most jaw-dropping anti-white article I've read in recent months is "Racism's Hidden Toll" by Ryan Blitstein. It's about Arline Geronimus's theory that the comparatively poor health of African-Americans is due to stress caused by pervasive white racism. Similarly to the racist babies article, Blitstein and Geronimus's ability to casually omit inconvenient questions and facts and their expert wielding of Occam's butterknife are truly mind-boggling.

I'm perplexed: I thought leftists had agreed that racism was learned behavior. Aren't racists merely products of their environment? Racism is now a behavior we will have to unlearn while we are still in the cradle?

I should have known that liberals would admit that racism is hardwired before they even acknowledged the possibility that racial differences in intelligence might also be heritable. The unreality-based community strikes again!

Moody found that the more diverse the school, the more the kids self-segregate by race and ethnicity within the school, and thus the likelihood that any two kids of different races have a friendship goes down.

Moody included statistical controls for activities, sports, academic tracking, and other school-structural conditions that tend to desegregate (or segregate) students within the school. The rule still holds true: more diversity translates into more division among students. Those increased opportunities to interact are also, effectively, increased opportunities to reject each other. And that is what's happening.

Hey, Steve, Newsweek and Mr. Moody are only several years behind you!

My 17-year-old daughter was not a racist infant, as far as I can recall, but she and her friends have become alarmingly racist since middle school. I think it's the cognitive dissonance between the constant anti-racism indoctrination and the observable behavior of the black students surrounding her. What's a parent to do? The liberal solution would be to send her to an expensive private school where she would get the indoctrination, but only be exposed to a well-vetted group of black people so that she might believe it. But I can't afford that.

To a lot of young people today, PC Liberalism is the new Establishment: something phony to rebel against. The penalties for doing so are so severe that we don't see much open rebellion, but I think there's a lot of anger simmering under the surface. (I have to admit that I've thought that for many years and nothing has happened, though.)

I am reminded of the time long ago that my 6-7 year-old son was watching a children's program (Sesame Street?) in which the children (mostly non-white) were having trouble spelling a word. His reaction? "No wonder they can't spell, they're not Americans" (and we live in Mexifornia!).

The local well-regarded HS (at least for the high level courses) has population=2000 with 20 percent black. In the hallways, I am told, groups from each grade level exist (and they include all sorts except AAs). The one exception are African Americans who self segregate across grade levels. It clearly seems to be a case of self segregation as each person in the group could have easily mingled with his/her peers in the same grade level. Another shocking stat: Across the 20 or so AP courses offered (attended by 250 students) there are a grand total of 2 (two) AAs (that's less than 1 percent). It also appears that the few AAs who do have an inclination (and the talent) to do well are discouraged by peer pressure from other AAs (for acting "white"). Segregation within schools is something we dont read about much, but it is huge and all over the country.

FWIW, that's a fairly interesting article with honest reporting of some interesting research. The conclusions the reporter draws and the framing of the issues may be tendentious but it's still worth a read.

At what stage do black children begin to exhibit lumpen-proletariat behavior? When do they adopt the same behavioral patterns as their adult counterparts?

Mr. Baldwin notes it beginning as early as middle school, but could it possibly be even earlier? I can only recall a total of two black people from my youth that left a positive impression on me. One was my father's graduate adviser. My father's PhD dissertation was something about genetically modified tomato plant yields brimming with mathematical models so he wasn't your standard black "Edumacation" or "Black Studies" professor. The other was a girl in high school, the only black girl (or black anyone really) I ever recall seeing in an AP class. She was quite comely and had a bubbly personality which resulted in me having quite the crush on her, not to mention her being a cheerleader.

Aside from those two, the rest could be succinctly described as Ghetto. Incredibly crude, prone to violence, and viciously racist towards me who had the misfortune of sharing a bus too and from school with them.

I can recall one incident from middle school with crystal clarity. I had the misfortune of being one of the last on the school bus and anywhere I attempted to sit down, the blacks would claim the spot was reserved for someone else when it was clear that there was no one else. I walked down the length of the bus and back and no one would allow me a seat next to them until finally the driver, disgruntled at being unable to leave, forced one girl to take her legs off the seat and allow me a spot. The look she gave me was interesting to say the least. It's been over a decade since that incident, but I have never forgotten it.

Mr. Baldwin, might I advise home schooling for your daughter? If you yourself lack time, it may be a better idea to consult with the parents of your daughter's friends to form a joint collective home schooling effort. That way your daughter can retain socializing with her peers while receiving a better education in a safe environment while the costs of such in time and effort is spread out amongst several families. I honestly don't know why this doesn't happen more often; a group of concerned parents pulling their children out of our "diverse" schools with say one parent educating the group one day a week.

Wouldn't surprise me. When I was at Cornell, the East-Asian and South-Asian kids that were from places like California or New York stuck almost exclusively to their own ethnic cliques. The ones that had come in from the Midwest (presumably having been more used to be the only minority around, like I was), were more likely to hang out with diverse crews.

When I first saw the NurtureShock title, I thought it would be about his realization that there are areas where nurture has little effect. I was dissapointed. It seems pretty reasonable for parents to find out the areas where nurture matters, like which language(s) you speak, and which areas it doesn't matter so much. That way, parents can focus scarce parenting resources on nurturable traits.

Simply seeing the left act like adults and recognizing that unpleasant things can be true would be remarkable. Then again, I'd love to see mainstream conservatives accept that everyone dies. Then they might see that keeping an unconscious 90 year old on life support for 100K a year is poor investment.

Asked how many white people are mean, these children commonly answered, "Almost none." Asked how many blacks are mean, many answered, "Some," or "A lot." Even kids who attended diverse schools answered the questions this way.

EVEN kids who attended diverse schools, or especially? It just might be that children exposed to the most diversity will see the most diversity.

Black children might less nice than white children. Certainly black adults are, if murder, rape, assault etc rates are any indication. This hypothesis could be investigated by seeing how many fights black and white children get into, yell at people, etc.

A lot of parents came to me afterwards and admitted they just didn't know what to say to their kids, and they didn't want the wrong thing coming out of the mouth of their kids.

That's a big old duh. State has their kids for hours a day, or will soon. The Stassi had kids rat on their parents. The DARE program did the same in the US. It is not unimaginable that children who express illegal views on race would face consequences, either directly or through the parents being punished.

Obviously, this research will be used to have the government properly "educate" children at ever younger ages. I wonder if homeschoolers are exposing their children to the diversity in an acceptable manner?

As far as the genocide in Russia/USSR is concernd, the most tragic part was in 1930-34.
"De-kulakizaton" and "collectivization", i.e. killing and exiling to almot definite death in Siberia, of "kualks" and their whole families, i.e. of the most productive and talented part of rural/agricultural population. That included also "Golodomor" in Ukraine in 1934-35. Altogether about 20 million people were killed by communist dictatorship in that process. The saddest part of that tragic story is that the most genetically-endowed (roughly speaking, those with elevated IQ) were eliminated from the gene pool of USSR's population. Even the previous {civil war + influenza} of 1918-1922, which claimed about the same number of lives in Russia, was not so tragically genetically-selective.

For what it's worth.

I googled "exterminate white people" and got abot 220,000 hits. I googled "exterminate black people" and got about 70,000. This seems to suggest that blacks are something like three times as likely to hold very extreme racial views.

When you consider that there are six or seven times as many whites in the US as there are blacks, the difference might be twenty to one.

In fact it's likely to be even greater. Most the top pages that contained the phrase "exterminate black people" were cited as an example of something you don't hear from whites. These pages contained an article about some black person who advocated the extermination of whites. I couldn't find any white person who actually advocated black genocide although there must be at least a few. On the other hand it's easy to find articles and videos of blacks strongly advocating killing all white people.

Mr. Anon said...

"More disturbing, Vittrup also asked all the kids a very blunt question: "Do your parents like black people?" Fourteen percent said outright, "No, my parents don't like black people"; 38 percent of the kids answered, "I don't know." In this supposed race-free vacuum being created by parents, kids were left to improvise their own conclusions—many of which would be abhorrent to their parents."

The kids were left to improvise their own conclusions? Hah. Maybe the kids were just accurately drawing conclusions from their parents behavior. Mommy an Daddy never say anything bad about black people - but, gee, they sure do go out of their way to never have anything to do with them, don't they. Maybe mommy and daddy really don't like them.

Most Whites tend to like Black Culture, certainly from its heyday 1920-1965. Motown is the Soundtrack to people's internal dialog, and Hollywood uses it to great effect. Jazz is the mellow soundtrack that is "cool" and different from rock/rap. Rap is the hyper-masculine beat for young White guys. White guys LIKE Black Culture, and by extension sophisticated, upper/middle class Black guys, like for example Rod Woodson on NFL Network.

Whites don't like Ghetto behavior, and there is among Blacks themselves a 60-40 split there between Ghetto and the "Tyler Perry" class.

I've had occasion to be at Cal State Long Beach over the last decade and a half, and I can see racial self-segregation only increasing, as Blacks get pushed out of South Central into Long Beach. Black students there self-segregate, talk/scream loudly, watch cartoons in the student lounge on the flatscreen, with Black women/girls acting even louder. The other students, mostly Asian, with some Whites, are annoyed but say nothing. Asians and Whites self-segregate too. There are not that many Hispanics there.

The complex caste system at Cal State Long Beach is probably unsustainable. Particularly as White parents in the Orange County/LA area look to make affordable college choices. Setting up a basic conflict, not over "racist babies" but who gets money to go to Cal State Long Beach. [Cal State Fullerton is the "White" school -- very few Blacks, good in Baseball, lousy in everything else.]

It appears the Newsweek is vying to become US "Handicapper General" among American news magazines and should be satirized, avoided, or both, like many foibles and hypocrisy of today. One cannot help but think of Kurt Vonnegut's 'Harrison Bergeron' after reading Bronson and Merryman's politically correct pander to the Obama Nation. Both writers exhibit real zeal in their attempts to shame whites, but not blacks, for their genetic handicaps.

Harrison Bergeron , the protagonist of the story, has exceptional intelligence, height, strength and beauty and thus has to bear enormous handicaps. These include headphones that play distracting noises, three hundred pounds of weight strapped to his body, forty pounds of birdshot around his neck, eyeglasses designed to give him headaches, and a rubber ball on his nose, black caps on his teeth, and shaven eyebrows to hide his beauty. Despite these societal handicaps, he is able to invade a TV station, declare himself emperor, strip himself of his handicaps, then dance with a ballerina whose handicaps he has also discarded. Both are shot dead by the brutal and relentless Handicapper General.

The short film "Indoctrinate U" describes several students at the University of Tennessee who, donning black face, dressed up as the Jackson 5 for a Halloween party. The party took place off campus at a fraternity house; however, when the students returned, they came across some offended African-Americans. The fraternity was suspended and the students were accused of being racist.
(This was before Robert Downey Jr's hilarious black face portrayal in Tropic Thunder)

But seriously, if, in the spirit of Presidential fellowship, all Asians, Hispanics, and Caucasians collectively donned black face makeup while in public, would this satisfy Newsweek's Barrack Obama worship?

No, not ghosts Anonymous, that's what we are taught to think, on an emotional level the children more likely see her as an angle.

Saint Gregory happened to see a group of Angle children from Deira (Britain) for sale as slaves in the Roman market. Gregory inquired about their background. When told they were called "Anglii" (Angles), he replied with a Latin pun that translates well into English: “Bene, nam et angelicam habent faciem, et tales angelorum in caelis decet esse coheredes” ("It is well, for they have an angelic face, and such people ought to be co-heirs of the angels in heaven").

I am reminded of an incident I experienced in the US Army in 1983 at Fort Sam Houston during my medical assistance training. It was in mid-June after mess hall during our 'free' period and I walked leisurely with a group of mostly males toward our barracks. As soldiers in training, we wore camouflage fatigues and shiny black boots. Among us was a quite handsome, blonde haired, blue eyed young man with an athletic build.

As we walked through a building into an open courtyard sitting before us were about two dozen young females of all ethnicities. Calmly reading in the center of this group was a blonde, Veronica Lake, look alike who, upon seeing the handsome soldier, smiled and stood up. When she took a step toward him every female audibly sighed or shouted with laughter. The black girls laughed loudest with the broadest smiles.

It was the strangest spontaneous event I'd ever witnessed.

I then realized the women had followed this girl and sat with her, knowing *he* would come and they wanted very much to see their meeting. As the couple walked away the group melted into the evening.

The left wants to practice "mass psychology" on white babies, and are looking for excuses to do so.

I imagine Bronson's work will be cited for the "need" to do some of the above at some point.

Learning about "game" has opened my eyes about the constant usage of "mass psychology" through the educratic indocrination and through the media.

Whites are "framed" as the "bad guys" who are racists.
Specific events of percieved racism are pointed to endlessly (negs).

Cultural celebrations of mediocre minority achievements are DHV's toward minorities (Demonstrations of Higher Value), and the lack of cultural celebrations of the massive judicial, scientific, and cultural white achievements, which have given us the modern world, are DLV's (Demonstrations of Lower Value) toward whites, constantly

Positive reinforcement is heaped on whites only when they are willing to abase themselves and disparage their own race, or when they ape the mores and customs of other races. Eventually positive reinforcement will probably be applied to whites who date outside their race.

Negative reinforcement (professors chewing them out, negative portrayals in the media, etc) is applied to whites showing any sign of racial pride for what their ancestors have accomplished, and for the negative things they don't accomplish (much lower crime and dependency rates).

What the left is doing resembles PUA-Game quite closely.

SWPL whites are endlessly trying to "qualify" themselves, just like a PUA will "flip the script" on a girl and make her qualify herself with questions designed to make her endlessly self-concious----which can only be ameliorated by the PUA giving her positive reinforcement as she "exchanges" (subconsciously) status with him (even though she is better looking than him) because he has elevated his value and has been able to suppress her own-self-value-image.

Game has been run beautifully on SWPLS, and their competitive instincts have been turned completely on other "lower status" (because of their verbotten social and political convictions) whites, instead of those who really make their cities unsafe and their taxes high.

I know, I know, Im too hard and too unfeeling. How dare I point that out......etc, etc, etc.

Some thoughts.

1. My grown son spent some time in a very small arctic community that was almost all Inuit. When he walked around the town the little kids laughed and pointed at him and called him a derogatory name in their language (I don't recall the name). The adults were also very racist against whites.

2. In Canada you wouldn't dare read a book about Santa in school no matter what race the Santa was. Too Christian.

3. CBC is totally pissing me off. Look at the only picture in this article:

From the Bromwich article
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-bromwich/the-president-and-the-vig_b_278509.html

"Does the president yet recognize that his domestic enemies are implacable? They cannot be bargained with. They must be fought with words as well as laws."

Very disturbing. Has anyone else noticed the increasing trend among lefties to say, "I may disagree with what you say, but quite frankly I don't think you should even have the right to say it."

Arline Geronimus shares Mr. Blitstein's ethnic background. In fact, the entire article reads like an elaborate joke written by Kevin MacDonald.
except the joke's on us because it's serious.

Macdonald has documented this relentless effort and towering hypocrisy of Jewish universalist movements, and despite thorough documentation, and the truth on his side, they continue to push push push, oblivious to it...
as he predicted, they are slowly tightening up and bottlenecking the internet - their response is never open debate, its always supression and then loudly self referencing one another, as they did with the iraq war. -- despite the evidence WMD was bs, they brushed it aside and wrote stuff like "perle said wolfitz is the best analyst and even Freidmen knows that Sadamm will use WMD on israel...

Lucius, your nihilism hypothesis is beginning to sound a lot like the Calvinist's belief in reprobation.

I don't know that there is a name for what I sense to be the truth of the matter [which I think is just about infinitely more horrifying than most people would care to contemplate].

It would have to be classified as a form of antinomianism, but it's far more radical than anything that I can see from Cauvin.

PS: Have you ever watched this movie?

Stumbled upon: http://www.vdare.com/sailer/050206_prejudice.htm

An snippet:

In polite society, it is widely maintained that race is purely a social construction—a factual illusion. Deviating from this dogma is costly. For example: back in 1994 neoconservative columnist Michael Barone bravely defended The Bell Curve. But by the time of his 2001 book The New Americans, Barone had apparently realized racial realism was dangerous. Therefore he started making pronouncements about race that were of an intellectual depth more appropriate for Sean Hayes.

Barone burbled:

"Babies do not distinguish between people of African and European descent; they recognize only other human beings. They have to be taught to differentiate between blacks and whites."

Bunk. That young children have to be taught to distinguish races is simply not true.

For example, when my oldest son was starting preschool, he informed us that his new friend Orville was "brown." Orville is what American grown-ups call "black," but my son had never heard that, so he used the more chromatically accurate term "brown."

When we asked our son what he was, he replied, "I'm pink."

"Well, how about your friend Diego?"

"He's … pinkish-brown," he announced decisively.

Good line, but what the article writers intend you to think is this: whites are irreducibly "racist," born in Original Sin, evil in the womb. While it's other races who must be carefully taught "racism." Taught by whom? By Whitey, of course. This sort of thing leads to genocide.

Isn't it sinful to spend all that money and use all that advanced scientific technology and all that advanced scientific medicine in order to defy God? If God's will, as expressed through his biological laws, demands that the person pass on and join Him, what is the contrary spirit animating the doctors? Or was it the Devil who wrote nature's laws? If so, then why is it the Devil's aim that people die naturally as they have done from the beginning of time and pass on to God, while God's aim is for them to hang around in the material realm as a vegetable, making a mockery of the spirit? It used to be that medicine was regarded as Rebellion; now any questioning of the usage of medicine up to and including the most extreme amount of it is regarded as Rebellion. How fashion changes.

Wow, so humans have an inborn survival instinct to be with our own kind and view outsiders as a potential thread to our survival and prosperity.

This is news to who???!!! Oh, the same SWPL that blather endlessly about how they are so progressive because they live in a multicultural neighborhood, how good it is for their kids to see other than all white faces, while others less wonderful live in boring, homogeneous, "lily white flight" zones. I must admit to getting a sick sense of schadenfreude whenever crime befalls these brave Neo-Urban colonists from the NAM not quite so thrilled with their choice of location.

1. No, I have never seen the film rapture.

2. I think you are overanalyzing the matter by calling the committed leftist antinomianists. A reprobate is person who is cut off from God, and therefore is given comletely over to evil.

Google the word reprobate to understand what I am getting at.

Calvin knew evil well, and probably saw the same things you are seeing now in slightly different form.

3. Use you friggin' screen name. Your comments already stand out brilliantly compared to the others on this blog, so there is no hiding from us. Besides, Google already knows who you are and where you live, even if you think you are anonymous.

No, I was saying that what I [personally] sense to be true about the underlying nature of things would amount to a very radical antinomianism - i.e. if you were to ask me for the name of my point of view, I would say that it amounts to a very radical antinomianism.

I don't know how you would classify modern leftist nihilism - all legalisms are forms of nihilism, but modern leftist nihilism is so austere that it's not clear how you would get a legalism out of it [unless you want to count the requirements of the Che t-shirt and the Birkenstock sandals and the Volvo with the Grateful Dead sticker as forming the legalistic requirements of the religion - basically "SWPL" as the legalism of modern leftist nihilism].

Calvin knew evil well, and probably saw the same things you are seeing now in slightly different form.

But Calvin and I would differ on the nature of the acts of salvation and damnation [and especially on the roles of the actors participating in the acts].

No, I have never seen the film rapture.

It is an [apparently] anti-Christian propaganda piece, made by three Jewish [or half-Jewish] nihilists [Michael Tolkin/Tolchinsky, David Duchovny, and Mimi Rogers/Spickler], but in their zeal to ridicule the Christian concept of judgement & salvation, I think they may have accidentally stumbled upon one of the most fundamental truths in all of creation.

Actually, to the extent that truth is supposed to bring us comfort, maybe one should say that this would be the most fundamental horror in all of creation.

If nothing else, they certainly let the cat out of the bag as regards the nihilist's point of view [even if it was entirely inadvertently & unconsciously on their part].

Anyway, the first [and only] time I watched the movie, many many years ago, I thought that it was illogical and [quite frankly] idiotic, but recently, in the last few years, as I learned more and more about the terrible toll that nihilism is taking on the modern world, the more the horror of the resolution of the movie started to ring true.

Anonymous nihilist,
Why do you use the term "nihilism" to describe the beliefs of leftists? I am inclined to believe you are not following the dictionary here, so maybe you could clear up my misunderstanding.

All belief systems are forms of nihilism [although the believers might not realize it - at least not at first].

But beyond that, modern leftism isn't even implicitly nihilistic anymore - its nihilism is so explicit and straightforward that if you engage these leftists in conversation, then more often than not they will freely [and proudly] admit to being nihilists.

rob said...

Truth,

My mother watched my paternal grandmother "live" that way. She doesn't want to, so it hardly makes me an asshole.

What if I am still that conservative? Should the government make you pay for life support? If you are no more than a slice of liver and a bit of fingernail, how much money should the state put into keeping you alive, whatever you exists at that point? Quite likely, we can keep cell samples of everyone frozen, or cryogenically preserve everyone who dies. The expense would be tremendous, but at the benefit is that grandma never, ever dies. Are ya for it? Why not?

Anyone who hates "death panels" needs to whine and protest less, and donate to SENS more.

Grownups recognize that people die. It's just one of those cold, hard truths. Some people are smarter than me, some are more popular, some are both, people die. Magical thinkers may believe that they go to Jeeboo, but accepting physical death is part of adulthood. With your screen name, you gotta get on top of it.

Lucius, last night while I was working I realized I blew off your response without giving it the consideration it deserved. I assume by antinomianism you refer to the leftist belief that everything will work out despite (or possibly because of) their actions. This belief that everything will work out also extends to the spiritual realm, where the leftists believe they will not burn in Hell for what they are doing.

For some leftists like Ted Kennedy, receiving communion despite their actions might lead them to believe that they will be forgiven, or that what they are doing is irrelevant to their salvation. For others they have a moral blindness that prevents them from seeing what they are doing as evil.

Going further, I think you didn't give my position the consideration it deserved either. A reprobate is a person who has been permanently cut off from God, and therefore moral guidance. It is easy to confuse a person who engages in leftism because they think there will be no bad moral consequences, from the person who has no moral judgement at all.

I think that a significant part of these people think there will be no bad consequences of their actions because they have no moral discernment, not because they believe that their actions will have no effect on their souls.

Almost every intellectual fad that almost everyone has practiced since the dawn of time amounts to nothing [no pun intended] more than nihilism.

It's kinda similar to how almost all governments at almost all points in recorded human history were tyrannical despotisms whose populaces eventually faded and disappeared from the face of the earth.

Of course, the lesser races don't have intellectual fads or recorded history, so they just keep on keeping on.

No - I [personally] sense that these lives which we have been tasked with living have, at their core, a defining characteristic which is horrifyingly antinomian in nature.

Leftists are not antinomians - they are at best legalists - but in the last half-century or so, leftism has become so intellectually bankrupt that it doesn't even bother to try to create the legalistic pretenses of a belief system anymore. [If you read e.g. Sebag Montefiore on Stalin, it's abundantly clear that, one hundred years ago, the Bolsheviks were obsessed with their legalisms - no one in their circles was taken seriously unless he had written volumes and volumes on Marxist theory - Stalin used to laugh at his associates who hadn't published, and would demand that they publish before they could be elevated within the party apparatus.]

But leftist nihilism has fallen so far in the last few decades that a leading leftist, like David Axelrod, couldn't hold a candle to his relative, Pavel Axelrod, or even to his own Stalinist mother.

Of course, that's precisely the purpose of nihilism - to make us fall so far that we simply cease to exist and then disappear altogether.

But back to antinomianism - all belief systems are forms of nihilism, and while legalistic belief systems are obviously nihilistic, I doubt that even Luther or Calvin got it right with their classical antinomianisms, either: Even a doctrine of faith amounts to a belief system, and is ergo nothing more than warmed-over nihilism.

Going further, I think you didn't give my position the consideration it deserved either. A reprobate is a person who has been permanently cut off from God, and therefore moral guidance.

Calvin and I may get to the same conclusion, but we arrive there by vastly different means.

As I understand Calvin, he posits that God exists out of time, and that, therefore, our fates are necessarily pre-determined [since God already knows what our fates will be].

I can't speak from God's point of view, but, from my point of view, Calvin is catastrophically wrong on that point - our fates are not only not pre-determined, but, in fact, the determination of our fates involves the single most fundamental and horrifying aspect of our nature.
