The Jena 6: The gift that keeps on giving blog-worthy material

From The Smoking Gun:

One of the "Jena Six" defendants was arrested yesterday for allegedly assaulting a fellow student at a Texas high school. Bryant Purvis, 19, was busted on the misdemeanor charge following an 8:30 AM altercation at Hebron High School in Carrollton, where his family relocated from Louisiana. According to the below arrest warrant affidavit, Purvis assaulted a male student he apparently suspected of vandalizing his auto. Along with choking the 18-year-old victim, the 6' 6" Purvis allegedly slammed the teenager's head on a table.

I am Lugash.

I told you, we've got Lionel Tate on our hands again. Six times over.

Anyone want to start a "murder pool" for which and when one of the Jena Six finally goes way, way too far?

I am Lugash.

What is the race of Bryant's latest victim?

It's a tragedy that a single unrelated noose prank could so irrevocably ruin such a fine young man's promising life.

Jon Swift was complaining about big blogs ignoring stories like the Jena 6, but given that his link was to this, I imagine he won't thank you for doing your part.

Once a thug, always a thug.

Did you all notice the complete lack of coverage of the mall shooting/robbery by a black guy that left 5 white women dead? I am still in shock at how effectively it was swept under the rug.

But if you dare to stand up to him, then you're a racist who probably should do time for a federal hate crime. After all, the most dangerous element in society is the White male, according to our controlled media.

Vote for Obama so we can make this guy an ambassador (he's already an American hero)! The change is coming, dog!

The report says two black males approached the victim and said "We know you're the one who let the air out of our homeboy's tires."

1. -- Vigilante justice (or just the reference to it) is so offensive to the Jena 6-ers that they beat someone half to death over it, and raise a national fuss about it. But their apparent leader practices vigilante justice himself. "I know you're the guilty party - POW!" (And to be exact, every one of the Jena 6 practiced vigilante justice, while accusing their victims of just talking about it.)

2. -- Despite Purvis's having just moved there, his fellow thugs refer to him as a "homeboy." Blacks are at home among other blacks wherever they go. Don't call it a conspiracy (conspiracies don't exist), but I guess it could be okay to call it a gang? Or is that word "racist"?

3. -- Like Anon., I, too, want to know the victim's race. I believe it would be very instructive.

Hm...let's see here...Group A hangs up decorations misinterpreted as nooses. Group B beats the shit out of them for it. Person C is mistaken for a vandal. Person from Group B beats the shit out of him for it. Question, who is dangerous: A, B, or C? Well, A and C, of course. Group B be OUR HOMEBOYZ.

With Group B's on the loose, you would almost think people would be justified in advertising crime deterrents. Like jail time...death penalty for murders...something to warn them or remind them that law exists and that there is a line they should not cross. I can't think of any such warnings now. Perhaps other readers could suggest one?

Calling a noose a 'decoration' may be just a little be off. After all, when was the last time you hung them from your Christmas tree.

Oh yeah, three of the women killed at Lane Bryant were black.

I stand (slightly) corrected. According to the expulsion committee, the two nooses were hung as a joke aimed at fellow white students who were on the school rodeo team. HERE. They were misinterpreted as warnings to violent thug members, which is why the thugs beat the innocent white students half to death.
